ALEXIS DE TOCQUEVILLE SOCIETY

Membership in the United Way is granted to individuals who contribute $10,000 or more annually. United Way Worldwide created the society to honor voluntary community service and the philanthropic investments of generous individuals and family foundations to local United Ways, and to recognize the value of such service to our nation. The name, Alexis de Tocqueville Society, was chosen for de Tocqueville’s admiration for the spirit of voluntary effort for the common good, a spirit that he had observed in America and about which he wrote enthusiastically.

LIGHTHOUSE SOCIETY.

Businesses who light the way for Acadiana’s brighter future are part of UWA’s These community stewards help secure safe passage of Acadiana’s future through program gifts that target expansion of The Leader in Me, increased investments in PACT United grants, and internal stewardship capacity. Lighthouse Society members ensure tomorrow’s leaders are trained today to become hard-working, self-reliant, tax-paying, contributing members of Acadiana’s workforce.
