Workplace Equity and Performance Optimization

Workplace Equity and Performance Optimization is responsible for staff employee relations (i.e., misconduct investigations, issue investigation, ’Cane Watch case management, declining performance, etc.), performance management (i.e., philosophy, process definition and alignment, training, tools, etc.), equal opportunity, Title IX, other workforce compliance areas, and creating a culture of fairness in support of being a great place to work. This function helps to ensure that fairness and equity are a fundamental part of HR policies, procedures, decisions, and outcomes. Human Resources Information Systems

The Human Resources Information Systems area is responsible for leading the improvement of existing systems and processes, and all interacting Human Resources Systems for the University of Miami. This area is currently leading the implementation of Workday, the University’s new human capital management enterprise resource system. During the Workday project, the reporting structure is shared between Human Resources and Information Technology. Compensation and Recognition The area of Compensation and Recognition is responsible for the development of compensation programs, policies and processes across the University, including position evaluation and job classification. This area provides subject-matter expertise in complex job classification and wage/ salary decisions, as well as incentive and recognition plan design. The function is also responsible for making recommendations for the annual merit allocation and adjustments to the structure (grades and salary ranges) that are aligned with the relevant labor market. The Payroll function is responsible for providing payroll services to faculty, staff, students, and administrators.
