How to get there?

Iceland is easily accessable by air. During winter, Icelandic airlines have regular flights from major cities in both North-America and Europe. During summer, you will find flights from even more cities and with other airlines as well. Coming to Iceland is not a problem, and it shouldn't take too long either. Check out www.icelandair.is and www.wow.is. spend some time in the capital Reykjavik first. From the airport you can rent a car, take the Flybus (www.flybus.is) or we can arrange for a pickup by coach. Be aware that the nearest shop to Úlfljótsvatn is in Selfoss, about a 20 minute drive away. There is no public transport running to or from Úlfljótsvatn.

How do I book for my group? Booking your group's trip to Úlfljótsvatn is simple. The center staff can assist you in customizing your tour, or you can use one of our readymade packages. For booking, please contact ulfljotsvatn@skatar.is To make sure you can reserve the time that best suits you, it's advised to make the booking as soon as possible. 1. Make a provisional booking for accommodation or camping Reserve accommodation or camping for specific dates.

Self-led activities available on site Orienteering Up to 15 post course on-site. Maps available.

2. Confirm booking with deposit From the time the provisional booking is made, you have four weeks to confirm the booking by paying a deposit*. If the deposit is not made within the given time, we consider the provisional booking to have been cancelled.

Self-guided hikes Great hiking area, both off and on marked trails. Ask the staff.

3. Book program, meals, transfers and tours After the deposit has been made, you will receive a booking form for meals, tours, coach transfers and program activities. This should be returned no later than May 1st, and soon after you will receive your itinerary. Keep in mind that full board is always included in indoor accommodation.

Frisbee-golf 10 hole course. Set of discs can be rented for 2 hours for ISK 1000 + ISK 1500 RID.

4. Pay final balance The final balance is due no later than May 1st your visiting year. This includes all fees for camping/indoor accommodation, meals, tours, program, coach transfers and other services. Should payment not be made within the given time, a 5% late-fee is added to all items on the invoice.

Cancellation/changing

Mini-golf 9 hole course. Set of golf club and ball costs ISK 500 per half day + ISK 500 RID.

Football-golf 9 hole course. Footballs can be rented for ISK 1000 + ISK 1000 RID. Golf 9 hole course in 20 min walking distance. A set of clubs and balls can be rented for a day for ISK 3000 + ISK 2000 RID. Gaga-ball Extremely fun game. Can you outlast your friends? Water safari A pond with an obstacle course and floating slide.

Our policy is that the deposit is non-refundable. The remaining balance is refundable up to March 1st the visiting year. 50% is refundable up to 8 weeks before arrival. 4-8 weeks before arrival 25% is refundable. After the point of 4 weeks before arrival, we do not issue refunds. This applies to cancellation in full, cancellation of individual booked items (tours, catering, activities etc.) and a decrease in number of guests. After May 1st, a fee may be added for any changes made to the booking.

Allergies/dietary needs/other needs

If any participants in your group have food allergies or special dietary needs, please let us know at the time you order catering for the group. If an allergy is potentially life threatening, please clarify and discuss what measures your group has taken (i.e. medicine, training etc.). Finally, if any member of your group has other needs that you feel you might want to discuss with us such as mobility, do not hesitate to contact us at ulfljotsvatn@skatar.is. *Amounts to 1 night of camping/indoor accommodation for group and is nonrefundable. For same year summer bookings, confirmation is required within 10 days.

Focuses on hiking, biking and other bipedal adventures. INT Intro-Hike A short hike to the top of the small mountain next to the Scout Center. Our guide will tell you about the history and the landscape around you. A great way to immerse yourselves into the area. The hike takes just over two hours to complete and can be done at any time during the day. Distance: 3 km/2 miles. Dificulty level: Easy. Price pr. person: ISK 1000

HIK Hiking Trail A great hike into the mountains, including the chance to bathe in a natural hot river. It doesn't get more Iceland than this! A great hike for experienced hikers, but physically demanding. Group leaders should be in good physical shape and have mountain experience. Distance: 18 km/12 miles. Difficulty level: Moderate/Challenging. Price pr. person: ISK 5400

Please note: All our guided hikes (except the Glacier Walk) include one guide from our staff. Group leaders are expected to assist during the hike. Additional guides can be booked for additional cost.

Hot river (guided tours)

SHO Short River Hike Want to visit the hot river without hiking for a whole day? Let the coach do most of the hard work, leaving you with only 3 km/2 mile hike each way. (6 km/4 miles in total) Difficulty level: Easy/Moderate. Price pr. person: ISK 7900

OHI Overnight Hike Starts out the same way as "Hiking trail" but continues to a scout hut in the mountains for an overnight stay. Maximum group size 20. A demanding but rewarding hike, only suitable for experienced mountain-hikers. Distance: 25 km/15.5 miles. Difficulty level: Challenging. Price pr. person: ISK 11 600

Focuses on sailing, paddling, fishing and other water based adventures. RAF Raft building Build a raft and sail it on the pond, competing with other teams! A 75 minute session. 20 participant maximum for each session. Price pr. person: ISK 1500

HRU Hrútey Island Paddling Tour First learn the basics of paddling on our small pond. In the afternoon you will paddle a kayak or canoe to one of the islands on the lake and enjoy a simple and tasty meal, cooked on a fire. 30 participant maximum. Price pr. person: ISK 9600

RIV White Water River Rafting A fun and very popular tour! White water river rafting with a mix of serene canyons and exciting rapids. Difficulty level: 2+ out of 5. Minimum age 12. Info needed: Age of each participant. Price pr. person: ISK 19 000

SNO Snorkeling in Silfra Snorkel in Silfra fissure in Þingvellir national park, the site of the world's oldest parliament and the spreading boundary of two tectonic plates. River Rafting (guided tour)

Are you into badges? You can use your stay at Úlfljótsvatn Outdoor and Scout Center to earn two achievement badges. Every person who spends half a day or more, volunteering for the center, will get the Volunteer badge. So sign up for a service project (everything from cleaning the campsite to laying paths or painting a hut), help us make the center a better place and earn a cool badge! We also accept long-term volunteers. Check us out at www.rovertnet.eu (for ESVP) or www.workaway.info if you want to spend a season at our center. Another badge you can earn is the Honorary Citizen of Iceland badge. All you have to do is: 1. Learn 5 Icelandic words. 2. Try 2 different types of traditional Icelandic food. 3. Learn about a historic event that took place in Iceland. 4. Listen to the music of 4 Icelandic artists. 5. Spend at least one night at Úlfljótsvatn Outdoor and Scout Center.

A refundable insurance deposit (RID) is required for some rental items. The deposit is refundable upon safe return of the item on agreed time. Should item be damaged, lost, returned too late or not at all, the insurance deposit should cover some of the damage.

Camp Iceland 2017 Úlfljótsvatn Outdoor and Scout Center, Iceland • August 11-16, 2017

What is it? A 6 day camp at the northernmost national Scout Center in the world. The first three days will be dedicated to camp life, with on-site activities and campfires. The next three days you will be able to choose from a selection of off-site tours and excursions*.

Who’s it for? Scouts and Guides from the age of 10 can attend the camp. You can come by yourself, with a few friends, a group or even with your parents. Scouts and Guides under the age of 18 must attend with either a leader or parent.

How much is it? Camp fee is ISK 34 000 per person. Included is campsite fee, 4 ready made meals per day, on-site program and transportation to and from Selfoss (nearest town) before and after the camp. Camp fee payment is due June 1st 2017.

Where will I sleep? In your tent. If you don't have a tent, you can rent from the Scout Center.

Will I meet Icelanders? Icelandic scouts will take part in the main camp. Icelanders are quite rare, so you might want to bring a camera!
