IGS Research Supports Water In an agricultural state such as Iowa, conservation practices are needed to reduce the impacts of nonpoint source pollution and flooding on surface and groundwater resources. The Iowa Geological Survey has partnered with several state and federal agencies to gain a better understanding about where conservation practices should be located within watersheds and to help quantify the effectiveness of these practices once they have been installed.
