Heritage and Imaginaries of the Coast
A collage installation based on participatory research that explores meanings of heritage and fishing among residents in Great Yarmouth. The exhibition showcases the work developed by eight local residents during a series of collage-based research workshops between November and December 2021, facilitated by researchers from the School of International Development

A photography exhibition and film screening based on participatory research that explores the lived experience of refugee families after reunion in the UK. The photographs and film were recorded by and with families in Manchester and Glasgow as part of a British Academy funded project led by DEV researchers, in collaboration with Together Now Free Entry

The Stories of the Gloucester Shipwreck: Norfolk’s Mary Rose
The finding by divers of the Gloucester warship off Great Yarmouth, wrecked while carrying a future King of England and Scotland in 1682, was announced to the world in June 2022. The shipwreck is hailed as the most significant historic maritime discovery since finding the Mary Rose in 1971. In spring 2023, across 4 events, we will be joined by the Curators of the exhibition from UEA and Norfolk Museums Service, who have been exploring the mysteries behind the ship’s tragic end and the stories of the people affected by the wreck, both those who drowned and those who survived. The series focuses on the Gloucester’s stories as they are told through music, literature and history, art, and textiles
All events are free and open to the public and will take place at Norwich Castle’s Town Close Auditorium.

Julian Stair: Art, Death and the Afterlife
Leading ceramic artist, Julian Stair OBE, presents new works in Art, Death and the Afterlife. Stair offers commemoration and solace for those who have died and lost loved ones through the global Covid-19 pandemic. Stair’s new exhibition personalises the deceased with a selection of ‘embodied’ pots, which contain their ashes within the clay. Stair demonstrates how artistic practice can both mediate loss and celebrate life. Through his work, he invokes the physical and spiritual presence of the deceased Free

As well as formal sculpture gardens, the Park offers the tranquillity of the Broad and Yare River Valley and dense urban modernist architecture, designed by leading architects such as Norman Foster, Denys Lasdun and Rick Mather
