What does an interpreter do?

The interpreter/translator provides interpreting/ translation services to people with limited English proficiency to bridge different cultures. Interpretation work is normally accomplished using either simultaneous mode or consecutive mode, sometimes sight translation is required as well. Interpreters and translators are often seen in courts, hospitals, and school districts.

TRANSFER CREDIT COURSES

UCLA Extension courses with XL 1-XL 199 in the course number are equivalent to undergraduate courses offered by UCLA regular session and provide credit toward bachelor’s degrees across all campuses of the University of California (unit and subject credit) and the California State University system (up to 36 units of credit, subject and grade credit). They are also accepted at many universities nationwide. Always check with your receiving institution for transferability, as limits may apply.
