Our society are so happy to have brought our love of animals, nature, food & the planet back to campus in full force this year! We maintained our popular trademark events such as potlucks, screenings & debates while outreaching to more societies, students and general public than ever before.

We collaborated with SimpsonsSoc, IntDevSoc, EnviroSoc, Film&PhotoSoc, MacraSoc, AfroCaribbeanSoc, FrenchSoc & KoreanSoc throughout the year! We also had events with UCCSU (SHAG Week & Queer Week), FairTrade Ireland, StoneValley Coffee Roasters, Ballymaloe Foods, Cork Environmental Forum, My Goodness and CoffeeScape Café We tried out new events that were definitely our most successful: the Cork City Food Tour and the Intervarsity Activism Weekend.

We are super proud to have hosted over 30 student vegan & climate activists from all over Ireland in UCC for the first time to establish a network of passionate change makers! We hope this will be a yearly meet-up for students who want to be activists so that we can find strength in numbers, share our passions & ideas and upskill to fulfill our potential to create a better world. We hosted Rosa & Orla from Animal Rising UK for the Activism Workshop, and hosted student groups from TCD, UCD, UG & UCC.

We have started our journey to promoting a Plant Based Uni in UCC and we successfully helped pass a motion to ban Race Days in UCC through a student seeing our petition and bringing a motion to UCC Student Council We pushed ourselves by creating different forms of outreach like radio interviews, podcasts, petitions & reels

We gained lots of new members and great additions to our committee which created a strong, dedicated and empathetic society! We also just got funding for our first ever international trip to go to VeganCampout in the UK so there’s lots more to come from UCCVEGSOC!!
