As a youth, Glenn was subjected to peer bullying for being overweight. Rather than let this obstacle become a hindrance, he became a scholar student-athlete in high school and earned an academic scholarship to college. After his undergraduate experience, he began a career in higher education. As he learned and applied nutrition and conditioning information, a physique transformation occurred. He went from nearly 300 pounds to a fit and trim 205 pounds and won several bodybuilding contests, including Mr. Michigan and Mr. Ironman.

During his eclectic career in higher education, most noticeably, he founded the national and regional awarding-winning Oakland University Trustee Academic Success Scholarship Program. The program annually yields one of the highest student retention and graduation rates for underrepresented students in the country.

Several years ago, he authored a self improvement book, It’s Time to Bring Your A-Game. As a result of my innovative personal and organizational management techniques, he is a much sought-after speaker and consultant on educational, business, health, and spiritual topics.

STEM WORKSHOP WITH ROBOTS

Facilitated by employees of Ally Financial, students will learn and explore the importance of creating and maintaining a budget, examine the differences between wants and need, and set goals for spending and savings.

Facilitated by employees of the Detroit Lions, students will hear about different careers that exist behind professional sports teams, including the hometown NFL football team, Detroit Lions.

Facilitated by TRIO Upward Bound Math Science Detroit, students will engage in an interactive STEM workshop with Sphero Bolt robots navigating an intricate obstacle course. Cultivate essential skills in teamwork, strategic thinking and coding fundamentals.
