No two students will follow the same course of study at University of Arizona Law, but all students will follow a path that takes them through the first year’s theoretical foundation of law.

Our international connections and proximity to the Mexican border have led us to create two one-ofa-kind programs for lawyers and professionals in Tucson and abroad.
The Diplomado Program in Mexican Public Law and Policy is taught in Spanish by elite Mexican legal scholars and practitioners, offering a specialized credential to students who complete all four courses.
Foreign Diplomat Training Program has trained 186 Mexican diplomats on foundational U.S. law to better serve their citizens living, traveling and working in the U.S. “The quality of the program offered and the commitment to the training of our officers has been extraordinary,” said the Hon. Esteban Moctezuma, ambassador of Mexico to the U.S.

Founded at University of Arizona Law in 2019, JD-Next is a fully online, non-credit summer course that exposes students to the fundamental reading and analysis skills they will further develop in law school. The course culminates in an exam, shown to be a valid and reliable predictor of success, without the substantial racial disparities that infect other admissions exams.
In spring 2023, the ABA granted a request to allow schools to admit students using scores from the JD-Next exam which means you can apply to law school without taking the LSAT or the GRE.
