Who’s Who

BRYAN ANTINORE (Polidori) is a junior from Ballston Spa, New York, and is thrilled to be taking on this role. Bryan is a Theater major, with a minor in Acting. This is Bryan’s third production with the Theatre Program, after appearing last year in FRESH ACTS and The Taming of the Shrew. Bryan’s other credits include various roles in community theater, and some short films he has made with his friends. Bryan would like to thank the Theater Program for the wonderful opportunity, as well as his family for their support.

HAZEL CHAUDOIR (Claire) is a third-year student at UAlbany. Hazel transferred here from Wisconsin, where she was studying in a BFA musical theater program at Viterbo University. She was last seen performing in FRESH ACTS last spring. Hazel couldn’t be more thankful to have had the opportunity to work with everyone on this team, putting together the first production of this play.

DAVID ESPINAL (Lord Byron) is a junior with a major in Theatre and a minor in Acting, from Delmar, NY. He is very excited to be taking on this character, and to be working on his first production with UAlbany, with this first-of-its kind production. Some of his past credits include the role of Count Dracula in Bram Stoker’s Dracula, and Aouda in Around the World in 80 Days. He would like to thank his wonderful family and friends for all their support, as well as his professors for helping him on his journey to becoming a better actor.

JARED LEWIS-HOLLIDAY (Shelley) is very excited to be taking on this role, in the first stage production of this play. He is a

Political Science major and Theatre minor, in his second year at UAlbany. You may have seen him previously performing in FRESH ACTS 2024. Jared would like to thank God for this opportunity. He appreciates Director Ryan Garbayo and Playwright Kate Walat for trusting him with this character.

AMANDA SPRINGER (Mary) is a senior double majoring in Theatre and Africana Studies. Her past Theatre Program productions include The Taming of the Shrew and FRESH ACTS. She is very grateful for this role and thrilled to be a part of the first production of this play. Amanda is thankful to everyone involved in bringing this story to life, and she is excited for everyone to see the show.

NATHAN “NATE” COOPER (Sound Designer) in a senior Theatre major, thrilled to be working alongside faculty designers on this show. This work was last seen as Assistant Sound Designer on this fall’s production of Machinal . He is excited to continue his work in theatrical sound, after designing for previous Theatre Program production of The Piano Lesson and The Glass Menagerie.

MADISON RIVERA (Stage Manager) Madison is a senior and extremely excited to stage manage her second show with the UAlbany Theatre Program. Previously Madison worked on Clyde’s, and has performed in Rent (Alexi Darling/Ensemble) and The Taming of the Shrew (Biondello). Additional credits include She Kills Monsters (Assistant Stage Manager) with Proctors Collaborative Theatre and Capital Repertory Theatre. Madison is ecstatic to be able to work on this amazing first stage production of this play. She wants to thank her production team for supporting her through this process, and her family for all their continued support of her dreams. She is

so proud of the actors and can’t wait for everyone to see their performances.

ALLISON KRAWCZK (Assistant Stage Manager) is a junior Theatre major and Musical Theatre minor at UAlbany, working as assistant stage manager for the first time with this production. Most recently, she performed in the Theatre Program’s production of The Taming of the Shrew last spring. She is excited to be a part of this team, and wishes everyone a great show.

JOHANNA LEVITT-DINDAS (Assistant Stage Manager) is a sophomore at UAlbany, excited to be working on her first UAlbany Theatre Program production. Previously she has worked on shows such as The Crucible and The Wedding Singer. She wants to thank all her friends and family who have supported her theatre journey and is very excited to be a part of this production team.

KELAYNA JONES (Assistant Director) is a junior at UAlbany, where she is a Human Biology major and Art minor, and is currently studying the novel Frankenstein: or the Modern Prometheus in her English class on the Gothic. This is her first show with the Theatre Program. She would like to thank her parents and friends for all the love and support.

KATE ALICE WALAT (Playwright) is a playwright and opera librettist. At UAlbany she is an Associate Professor and Resident Playwright in the Theatre Program, where she is also currently serving as Program Director. Her recent coadaptation of Arden of Faversham was produced Off-Broadway by Red Bull Theater and nominated for a Drama Desk Award

for Best Adaptation. Other plays include Six Scenes in a Theater (written for and first performed at UAlbany), Small Town Values (The O’Neill’s NPC; PlayLabs), Creation (Theatre @ Boston Court; Ovation Award for Playwriting nomination), Bleeding Kansas (Hangar Theatre; Francesca Primus Citation), Victoria Martin: Math Team Queen (Off-Broadway at WP), and See Bat Fly (Brown-Trinity Playwrights Rep). Her work as an opera librettist includes Paul’s Case (Pittsburgh Opera; Prototype Festival), The Echo Drift (co-librettist; Prototype), and Jason and the Argonauts (Lyric Opera of Chicago). She is an affiliated artist with the Playwrights’ Center and at New Georges, where this play was first developed in an Audrey Residency. BA, Brown University; MFA, Yale School of Drama.

RYAN GARBAYO (Director) currently serves as Visiting Assistant Professor of Acting at SUNY Albany, where he previously directed The Taming of the Shrew. As an actor he has performed extensively in New York and on many of the nation’s most noted theaters. He will so be featured in Netflix’s upcoming mini-series Article Two, opposite Robert DeNiro. OffBroadway: This Space Between Us (Keen Company); The Government Inspector, The School for Scandal, ‘Tis Pity She’s a Whore, Loot (Red Bull Theater). Regional: A Christmas Carol (Hartford Stage); Twelfth Night (St. Louis Shakespeare Festival); Native Gardens (Denver Center); Much Ado About Nothing (Shakespeare Theatre of DC); Suddenly Last Summer (Westport Country Playhouse); Pride and Prejudice (Pittsburgh Public Theater); Amadeus (Maltz Jupiter Theater). Television: Lioness, Law and Order: SVU, Elementary, The Good Wife, Person of Interest. Professor Garbayo has held faculty positions at University of Miami, Professional Performing Arts School, and New York Film Academy. Education: MFA, NYU Graduate Acting Program; BFA, cum laude, Emerson College.

EVAN ANDERSON (Lighting Designer) is a lighting designer and composer for theatre, dance, and film. His lighting work has been seen across the United States and internationally in Europe and Asia. Frequent collaborators include The Wooster Group, zoe | juniper, and Paul Budraitis. Recent work: The Winter’s Tale and It’s a Wonderful Life (Hartford Stage); The Plot (Yale Repertory Theatre); Pipe Dream (Berkshire Theatre Group); Symphony of Rats (The Wooster Group); I Love That For You (Acker Statd Palast); Constellations (Ancram Opera House) ; Scenes with Girls (Theater Lab); Happy Life (The Hearth). He is a company member of CabinFever, a Burry Fredrik Design Fellow, and has an MFA in Lighting Design from the Yale School of Drama.

ANNE CROTEAU (Costume Designer and Costume Shop Manager) is the Theatre Program’s Costumer, designing costumes and supervising student designers for the production season. She teaches courses in theatrical design and costume construction, runs the costume shop, and coordinates production practicum. Previous costume design credits at UAlbany include The Taming of the Shrew , Rent, The Piano Lesson, Eurydice, Spring Awakening, Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson, and others. Professional theatre credits include the American Repertory Theatre, Huntington Theatre Company, Utah Shakespeare Festival, Costume Works Inc., Krannert Center for the Performing Arts, Saratoga Children’s Theatre and many others. Anne is the owner of Dress You Up, a custom bridal and formal gown design studio in Ballston Lake, NY and a member of the Board of Directors for Not So Common Players of Clifton Park, NY. She holds an MFA in Costume Construction and Design from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana; and a BA in Theatre from UAlbany.

NORA MARLOW SMITH (Scenic Designer) is a New York-based scenic designer and Visiting Assistant Professor of Scenic Design at UAlbany. Previous credits include The Mountaintop with Black Theatre Troupe of Upstate NY, She Kills Monsters at Capital Repertory Theatre, Fiddler on the Roof at Proctors, Fort Huachuca and Bloodshot with SHE NYC,  Come Here to Me at the Tank,  Carmen in the 1920's and The Little Prince with Ballet Co.Laboratory, The Life and Deaths of Alan Turing with Chicago Opera Theater, RENT and Pipeline at OCP, Being Chaka with Téa Artistry at the New Ohio Theater, and many more. Keep an eye out for more work from Nora this season at Capital Repertory Theatre on A Sherlock Carol. Nora holds a BA in English from Mount Holyoke College, and an MFA in Stage and Costume Design from Northwestern University.

JOHN KNAPP (Technical Director and Scene Shop Supervisor) John holds a BA in Theatre from UAlbany. He has been part of the team of students and artistic colleagues for approximately twenty-seven years, helping to build roughly 100 productions at UAlbany. John’s designs include The School for Scandal , Cloud 9, My Children! My Africa!, Miss Reardon Drinks a Little, The Importance of Being Earnest, and In the Next Room. John doubles as the Theatre Program’s Archivist. In 2006 John started collecting documents (photos, programs, posters, etc.) to create a digital archive of Theatre at the University.
