Research has shown that those who vandalise municipal property are youths between 14 and 20 and everybody’s help is needed to root out this problem. Alderman James Vos, chairman of Subcouncil 3 said on Thursday 22 March that repair and replacement of the signs is extremely costly. “I recently undertook an inspection of all the road signs and other important signage applicable to pedestrian safety and was shocked at the defacement,” Vos said. This followed a number of incidents reported to his office during the course of the month.
