FULL MOON PUB RAISES £200 FOR HOSPICE CARE CHARITY
AT EASTER a donation of £200 was sent from Twerton to regulars turned up for the draw. When all the prizes had been Dorothy House Hospice Care: the outcome of a raffle held won, the amount raised for Dorothy House was totalled up and came to £155. Rachael the landlady then said that the pub would one afternoon at the Full Moon Pub. round this figure up to £200.
The raffle at the Twerton pub was creatively put together with prizes of about fifteen chocolate eggs, each one coming with a cuddly toy tied to it by means of a colourful ribbon. Characters like Minnie Mouse, Mario and Peppa Pig, were among the prizes to be won in the raffle which had clearly been designed to delight the children. Pictured above are Rachael with one of the prize winners. The raffle was devised by an older gentleman named Norman and there are plans to repeat it next year in aid of another local charity. This year's chosen charity, Dorothy House, provides compassionate care and support to people with a terminal illness, serving Bath and North East Somerset as well as parts of Wiltshire and Somerset.
