Marquetta Patterson

Marquetta is enrolled at Seattle Central College School of Nursing and will graduate August 2023. Her aspiration to becoming a nurse has been influenced by the poor care her mother experienced during a terminal illness and the inadequate evaluation of her own daughter's illness Her goal is to be the nurse that advocates so that her patients will be heard. Marquetta's charge nurse described her as cheerful, driven, engaging and curious with no limit to her growth and future endeavors.

Lekasia Riley

Lekasia is enrolled at Seattle University's School of Nursing and will graduate August 2024. She has been productive in service to community activities and projects Her desire to become a nurse is influenced by personal challenges in navigating the healthcare system. She believes advocacy and exceptional health care will result in positive outcomes. Lekasia has been described as having strength, determination, a strong work ethic and a positive

Summeya “Lina” Saeday

Lina is enrolled in Seattle University's Nursing Program and will graduate in June 2025. She desires to make a difference in the healthcare of women in under-served communities She has encountered health disparities in Ethiopia and the United States which resulted in poor outcomes. Her goal is to become a well-rounded nurse midwife and community leader that will spend time to understand a patient's family, social and cultural dynamics thus yielding positive outcomes.

Dezha Smallwood

Dezha is enrolled at Bellevue College's Nursing Program and will graduate in June 2024. Dezha worked very hard to achieve the requirements for acceptance into the nursing program. Her immediate goal, as a nurse. is to work in labor and delivery to impact the outcome in high mortality birthrates among women of color. In the near future she will pursue becoming an OB/GYN Nurse Practitioner.
