CIRCUIT COURT Rafael Ramirez, 43, Caro, received a deferred sentence of 90 days in jail (credit for three served) for domestic violence (third offense). He also was ordered to serve three years of probation and pay $1,358 in court fines and costs. Krystal Lyn Caldwell, 38, Fairgrove, was sentenced to 18 months of probation on two counts of attempting to use a check with no account. also was ordered to pay $326 in court fines and costs. Austin David-Thomas Nielsen, 19, Flint, is charged with three counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct. A sentencing date is to be set. Blake Edward Lebioda, 19, Cass City, was sentenced to 365 days in Tuscola County Jail (credit for 97 days served) for two counts of assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder, felonious assault, a felony firearms charge, and domestic violence. He also was ordered to serve five years of probation and pay $2,362 in court fines and costs. Kendra Kay Sands, 38, Caro, received a deferred sentence of 365 days in jail (credit for one day served) for motor vehicle – unlawful driving away. She also was ordered to serve two years of probation and pay $1,358 in court fines and costs. Erica Nicole Moyer, 23, Mayville, received a one-year delayed sentence for delivery/manufacture of a controlled substance (marijuana). She also was ordered to pay $1,358 in court fines and costs. Joshua Richard Fields, 31, Cass City, was sentenced to at least 22 months in prison (credit for 105 days served) for two counts of third-degree home invasion, and assaulting/resisting/obstructing a police officer. He also was ordered to pay $584 in court fines and costs.

obituaries MARY ANN TENCZER GAGETOWN Mary Ann Tenczer of Gagetown, age 82, died unexpectedly Friday, February 10, 2017 in her home. She was born February 14, 1934 in Tuscola County to John Steve and Regina (Kleido) Tenczer. Mary Ann was employed as the assistance payments worker with the Tuscola County Department of Human Services and later with the Huron County Department of Human Services retiring as support specialist. She started the food pantry program in Huron County and arranged for area youths to attend Youth Haven Camp and the Bay Shore Camp. Mary Ann was a lifelong member of St. Agatha Catholic Church and was involved in a variety of church activities. She loved to travel, Las Vegas and Disney were among her favorite places. Mary Ann has a large collection of Ellery Queen and Agatha Christie novels. She was also a member of the Caro Art Society and the Bay City Players. Mary Ann is survived by her cousins: Jacqueline (John) O'Polka of Essexville; Geraldine Washabaugh of El Cajon, California; Barbara Taylor of Saginaw; Mitzi (Mark) Kushinsky of Saginaw; Terrance Heineman of Saginaw. She is preceded in death by her cousins: Phyllis Root, Mildred Tamblyn, Don Schwartz. Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. prior to the funeral service at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 18, 2017 in Our Lady Consolata Parish, St. Agatha Catholic Church, Gagetown with Rev. Thomas Held officiating. RUTH HANCOCK MILLINGTON Ruth Hancock of Millington, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away early Tuesday morning February 7, 2017 at her Murphy Lake residence. Ruth was 93. Ruth was born in Royal Oak, August 7,1923. She was the daughter of the late Viola (Schroeder) and Albert Rockentine. She graduated from Royal Oak High School. When she graduated, she was hired by Michigan Bell and as she was working the whole switchboard lit up (WWII) had started with the bombing of Pearl Harbor! She and her husband, Floyd, were married August 5, 1945 in San Francisco toward the end of the war. Floyd preceded her in death in March of 2012; also preceding her in death where her beloved son, Greg Hancock, three grandchildren: Gregy Hancock, Amy Hancock, and Cody Carlisle. Ruth was an active member of the Millington community all her life. She was a den mother, Woman's Club president, lifelong member of the Methodist Church and also worked for many years as an aid and cashier for Millington Community Schools. Ruth and Floyd were great travelers and also had a cabin "up north" in Rose City. Ruth was known for her cooking; her warm smile, and her great love of children. Surviving are her children: Kristine and Raleigh Simpson, Floyd and Mary Hancock Jr., Charles Hancock, Kari Carlisle, Becky Hancock; eight grandchildren and 11 greatgrandchildren. Ruth also leaves a brother and sister-in-law, Bruce and Shirley Rockentine; as well as nieces, nephews, and extended family. Funeral service for Ruth were held at the Millington United Methodist Church on Saturday, February 11, 2017. The burial followed at the Millington Twp. Cemetery in Millington. SHARON LEE AVERY CARO Sharon Lee Avery of Caro, age 73, passed away suddenly on Sunday, February 12, 2017 at the Leesburg Regional Medical Center in Leesburg, Florida. Sharon was born November 21, 1943 in Midland, the daughter of the late Herman and Beatrice Roy. She was united in marriage with Lee Avery, and together they have spent 49 years together. Sharon worked for Walbro for 28 years and had been a very active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Caro. She enjoyed traveling, especially to Florida during the winter months, flower gardening, crafts, and taking care of her pets. Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Lee; five children and their spouses, Jimmy Stevens, Sheryl Stevens, Larry and Melissa Avery, Rick and Minnie Avery and Rob Avery; four grandchildren; four siblings and their spouses, Dale and Sandy Roy, Sheila and Trent Johnson, Sandra Roy, and Susie and Jeff Leak. Sharon was preceded in death by four siblings, Grant, Charlene, Douglas and David Roy. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Caro with Rev. Cameron Steele officiating. Burial will follow at Indianfields Township Cemetery. Francis Selden Anthony, age 94, passed away on February 11, 2017, at Covenant Hospital in Saginaw. He was born in Saginaw, the son of the late Thomas and Myra (Livingston) Anthony. He served in the Army as a Staff Sergeant during World War II. He retired from General Motors, as a Millwright in 1977. He loved flying his own plane, boating, hunting and fishing. He was very musical—playing the piano, organ, guitar, banjo and mandolin. He was united in marriage to Evelyn (Parsons) Malloy in 1950. She preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife Letha (Lint) Anthony of 40 years. Also surviving him are three daughters: Penny (Ivan) Young, Ann (Larry) Miller, Denise Berry; stepson Rick (Nancy) Weage; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by three sisters: Miriam Smith, Kathleen Jansen, and Patricia Withers; two brothers Kenneth Richard Anthony and Thomas Anthony; one son Jan Malloy and a grandson: James Martin. In accordance with Francis’ wishes, cremation has taken place. A family remembrance will be held at a later date with his nephew, Mike Parson, officiating. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery in Vassar.
