AUGUST 2024

EDITION

LTG PREFACE - SHEILA

Hey Turquoise Turtles!

Welcome to the August edition of Turquoise Times!

We’re entering an especially busy season f KIWIN’S, I’m super excited for Club Rush and to kick off our general meetings! Be sure to show off your KIWIN’S Spirit and set an example for our incoming members!

School is back in session, and I hope everyone hasn’t been too overworked yet! Remember to pace yourselves, take breaks, and save time for things that make you happy! And of course, never hesitate to reach out if you need help or some extra time for yourself. Thanks for reading, Turtles!

Yours in Service, Sheila Corpuz

What’s a song you’ve been listening to on repeat recently?

Long Live by Taylor Swift

What made you first get into KIWIN’S?

I loved KIWIN'S Ohana from the very first meeting! <3 KIWIN’s caught my attention in many different ways from the turtle costume to the spirit in the meetings and events. I loved how not only they offered service events, but also fun opportunities, such as attending Fall Rally or DCON where you got to meet people from all over California.

What is your favorite KIWIN’S memory?

My favorite KIWIN’S memory was DCON 2023!

What advice would you give to new KIWIN’S members?

I would say get involved early! Don’t be afraid to attend District events and Divisional events because they are very fun and a great opportunity to meet other people in KIWIN’S! Whether it's volunteering at a service event, attending Fall Rally, or attending DCON, these events provide a chance to learn more about the KIWIN’S, develop leadership skills, and make great memories. You’ll feel even more connected to the Ohana and the impact you're making through service, the more you are involved!

DISTRICT PROJECTS

introducing…the CNH KIWIN’S District Projects! Our projects are the multiple charities that our fundraised money goes towards!

Major Emphasis - Live2Learn

Live2Learn aims to implement strong educational foundations by fostering better literary and social skills in children globally. This service initiative directs and focuses the attention of KIWIN'S members to serve children in a specific hands-on approach.

Through this hands-on service initiative, CNH

KIWIN'S will enable children to be afforded greater opportunities to pursue later in life.

Minor Emphasis - CNH Children’s Fund

CNH Children’s Fund ultimate goal is to build better lives for children and serve our youth.

Through a variety of programs throughout the Cal-Nev-Ha District, Kiwanis youth is provided with scholarships and leadership opportunities, changing lives everyday.
