project progress and developments within the industry, the TunnelTalk Annual Review for 2020-2021 charts also the impact of the global coronavirus pandemic. While there have been delays and cost increases as a result, the projects have adapted effectively with workers and management staff taking readily to the necessary health and safety initiatives introduced – initiatives that are perhaps here to stay. As part of its 2020-2021 coverage, TunnelTalk published a series of industry Focuses on concrete linings, TBM selection, NATM/SCL/SEM projects, the hydro industry and the dilemma of underground nuclear waste management. Inclusion of these reports in the Annual Review yearbook are a précis of the full articles and their author references on the main web magazine. The Focuses and several other 2020-2021 articles attracted important Feedback from industry professionals and these too are included in the Annual Review articles. As conferences and events in-person remained cancelled during 2020-early 2021, being replaced with virtual online alternatives, the Annual Review is published again this year as a digital edition with plans to print a hard copy version at a later date.
