WHY GREEK WEEK

Building connections with Panhellenic, Interfraternity Council, and Multicultural Greek Council at Cal State Fullerton is about service, friendships, teamwork, and community. Greek Week has been a tradition at Cal State Fullerton for over 10 years and gives the members of the Fraternity & Sorority Community an opportunity to come together to raise awareness for the Children’s Center, The ASI Food Pantry, and Tuffy’s Basic Needs. During Greek Week, it is expected that all chapters compete with enthusiasm, integrity, respect, and pride. Active participation in Greek Week is voluntary but extremely recommended Those outside the Fraternity & Sorority Community are encouraged to attend the planned events and competitions, but competition is limited to Fraternity & Sorority recognized members only. All Rules are subject to interpretation by the Greek Week team with the final say designated to the FSL staff.

Note: Greek Week is a student-led initiative. Please remember you are representing the Fraternity & Sorority Community at Cal State Fullerton. We expect to see our community values in action at all times. The Greek Week team wishes you a week full of fun and friendly competition. Best of luck!

Wednesday

Kickball

Kickball Rules from UGC

8 player minimum with subs allowed

Two games going at once (sororities on one field & fraternities on another)

Games will be conducted in bracket style (see below for game order)

Rules for Kickball

1. Pitching: Each team will pitch to the other team. Pitchers must pitch from the pitching mound and cannot go in front of the plate until the ball is kicked. The pitcher should try his/her best to give the kicker a pitch that they feel most comfortable kicking.

2. Kicking: All kicks must be made by foot and a full attempt to kick. No bunting. A kicker can be called out if they get 3 strikes or 4 foul balls.

3. The ball can be thrown at any player and must hit shoulder and below. NO HEAD SHOTS. The runner will be called safe if it hits their head unless they are sliding/ducking the ball. If a player is hit in the head they can go back to the base. Leading off can happen after the ball is released from the pitcher's hand. No stealing. Players must tag up on a fly ball (Contact your coaches if you don’t know what this means.)

4. Infielders must stay out of the baseline; otherwise the runner advancing to the base will be called safe. No obstruction. Members that are playing a base position should make every attempt to position their foot on the side of the base to leave room for the runner. If the runner is advancing and the ball hits them during the run, they are out.

5. Any player who deliberately crashes into a defensive player holding the ball, waiting to apply a tag will be out.

6. On an overthrow the runner may advance at their own risk.

13

7. Due to time, each game will consist of 3 innings.

8. Teams will switch position, infield or outfield, after the team kicking has 3 outs.
