Juniors look forward to huge rugby league year

season, with week one kicking off on Friday 10 March.

The committee decided 2023 will consist of the following age groups, due to the numbers of registrations and new rules:-

• Under 7 – League Tag

• Under 8 – Tackle

Zenadth Kes Junior Rugby League has a big season planned for 2023.

A few weeks of questionable weather delayed the start of the

• Under 9 – Tackle

• Under 10 – Tackle

• Under 12 – Tackle

The exciting news that the Winds of Zenadth Kes Cultural

Festival will be held at the end of May has led the junior league committee to decide on having two seasons in 2023.

• Season A: 10 – 31 March – final game on 21 April

• Season B: Term 3 – 10 July – 1 September

The seasons success is dependent upon the volunteers and this year we have really focussed on making sure we have sufficient qualified coaches, league safe, sports trainers and referees.

We are grateful that QRL Development officer Terry Abednego arranged for QRL, NRL and sports medicine officials to come to TI last weekend allow our volunteers to complete their qualifications. We are so thankful to everyone who has raised their hand and registered to help us out.

We are fortunate to have great sponsors over the years and The Coffee

Department has come onboard for a third year, allowing us to award two Players of the Week for each age group. Come on down on Friday nights and cheer these young superstars. There are sausage sizzles on sale with proceeds going towards our 2023 Under-11 Zenadth Kes Stingers team, who will attend the Laurie Spina Shield in Townsville during the June/July School holidays.
