There were some big scores in recent games for the Indigenous Community Basketball League held at the Sports Complex on Thursday Island.

In the first boys’ game Zey continued their winning streak, defeating Sager 52 to 38.

In the other boys’ game, Naygay narrowly defeated Kuki – 34 to 31.

In the girls’ competition – Naygay recorded their first win in the ICBL as they played against Kuku, defeating them – 70 to 10.

It was another high scoring team effort in the other girls’ game earlier on the Sunday afternoon, as Sager defeated Zey, 72 to 29.

Torres Strait Coordinator, Mick Loban said there were no games scheduled for this Sunday 19 March 2023.

“All teams should be rested and ready to play in the semi-finals to be held on 26 March 2023,” he said.

There will be an update of the teams’ placing on the ICBL ladder in next week’s edition of Torres News Format for finals 1st vs 4th and 2nd vs 3rd, with the winners of each advancing to the girls and boys grand finals.
