Head of Campus at Waybeni Buway, Rick Cass said Andrea was tasked with collaborating with students to write songs which captured the spirit of the times, their sense of belonging and cultural identity.

A selection of the songs will be will performed at a number of events on Waiben.

“We will have Andrea headline our own WBNM Harmony community arts project where children and the community will be contributing to the Harmony Hands Bunting Project, which will be used to decorate the venue,” he said. “The bunting (small flags) will be made in workshops at Thursday Island Primary each day between 1pm –3pm, including a sewing club to put it all together.

“If anyone can sew, let us know!”
