Packing Suggestions Casual comfortable clothing and shoes Sunscreen, bug spray, medications Bible, notebook, pen Lawn/sport chairs/ blanket for lawn lounging Sports equipment- tennis, soccer, softball, volleyball, basketball, Frisbee, bocce ball, kickball, bicycle, etc. Umbrella- (in case of rain), flashlight, Shower shoes/flip flops, and Robe to get to and from shower down the hall Towels if you prefer a full size bath towel, small ones are provided An extra pillow if you like more support, nightlight, clock, extra blanket Bedding for children who will be sleeping on the floor If you have an infant, please bring a port-a-crib and bedding for your child This is our time to disconnect from the busyness of NoVA and ‘reconnect’ with one another and with God...please plan to “unplug” and leave as much of your electronic “stuff” at home as you can, but may want a cell phone charger If you are going to “The Hill” Fire Ring Sat. night (10:00 pm-11:30PM) you might want to bring supplies for smores, or just the marshmallows

Additional Information All dormitories’ main lounge areas include a full size refrigerator and microwave along with cupboards. Feel free to bring your own coffee-maker, or hot-water pot, condiments and snacks. Hot plates or similar appliances are not permitted in rooms nor is any type of cooking allowed in any room except in the kitchen areas of the apartments. Bathrooms are marked male and female and are at opposite ends of the hall Removal of lounge or common area furniture into individual rooms is not allowed EMU is an alcohol/tobacco free campus; please honor our hosts by not bringing alcohol or tobacco. The use of skateboards or skates is prohibited on campus.

Note on parental responsibility: 1. EMU requires parents be responsible for children through age 18, at all times. 2. After midnight, persons under 16 must be in the dorm unless accompanied by an adult. 3. A medical release must be presented upon arrival at EMU for every minor child unaccompanied by a parent. The medical release for treatment at a hospital and/or by a physician must be signed by one or both of the child's parents. This release will allow for treatment should accident or injury occur.
