A Dash to Remember!
T
rue North proudly hosted its 1st Annual Dash of the Titans 5K Run / Walk at Zoo Miami on October 23rd, 2021. It was an event that brought together nearly 1,000 Titans - True North’s largest community-wide event in school history. And raised over $50,000 - much needed money to support the world-class, classical education its students are receiving. It’s significance was huge! In 2020, Covid-19 sent the world indoors in fear and trembling. Since its first known case, the deadly virus is responsible for claiming over 5M lives. It’s been a long, uphill battle to get back to “normal” - whatever that means now. For good reason, we have been leary to gather in large groups, out of concern for our own safety and the safety of others. However, as Covid case numbers have been on the decline (especially in the State of Florida), it was time to come together once again as a school community. True North’s coming together for Dash of the Titans was - in many ways - symbolic. It symbolized the “light at the end of the tunnel” for our school community and broader community as a whole. It meant that we can overcome a deadly virus like Covid, nothing can keep our school community down or separated, and that we are stronger in numbers. So many people I spoke to were filled with gratitutde to be able to come together for an event like this. The resounding message of the day was: “We needed this!” Yes, we did! From the actual running of the 5K where people bonded together in the physical activity and exhaustion of “pushing each other on,” to the finish line, to the after party in our Family Fun Zone where people recharged their batteries with water, fruit, and pastelitos from Sergios, to the jamming out to music by DJ Gio, visiting with vendors, and playing sports with each other and interacting with the bouncy houses, it was definitely a dash to remember. There were so many smiling faces... even after running over 3 miles :) Thank you to everyone who made this race possible!! Til next year!!

Build a Dream Bricks!
“Build a Dream” Brick Campaign True North Foundation is excited to continue its “Build a Dream” Brick Campaign. Create a lasting memory by honoring True North family or friends, memorializing a special date, or sharing a meaningful message with a personalized engraved brick. This is a unique opportunity for parents, grandparents, faculty, and friends to make a lasting tribute in commemorative support of True North and its students. The first four installments of commemorative bricks have already been laid in front of our 15,000 square foot Titan gymnasium at our Main Campus. Due to our generous parents and donors, True North raised over $50,000 in bricks during the 2020-21 school year. The money rasied from brick purchases is being put towards our Growth Campaign. New brick orders are now being taken and will be part of our 5th order of bricks and 1st order of bricks to be placed for the 2021-22 school year. We will continue to install bricks in front of our gym until all of the designated space is filled. However, space is limited and the bricks won’t last.
