We’ve been a familiar fixture in Britain’s bathrooms since 1975, a member of the Made in Britain scheme since 2014 and well known as leaders in electric water heating innovation. But we want to go even further.
We want to be the most sustainable shower brand in the UK, and we want to inspire everyone to shower sustainably.
It’s a big ambition, but with sustainability at the core of our business and a dedicated team leading the way, we’ve already made great progress. And that’s what this report is all about.
This isn’t new territory for us at Triton. Our fantastic team has spent years developing a wide range of sustainable and energy-efficient solutions for every customer and budget. We design our products to last, and our service engineers are always there for repairs and support. But we know there’s always more we can do.
We’re proud to be a Planet Mark accredited business, working to PAS 2060:2014 standards, and we even achieved the King’s Award for Enterprise (Sustainable Development) in 2024.
Still, we’re continuously looking for ways to improve, and we’re ambitiously aiming for Net Zero by 2035.
As our world continues to develop, we all face challenges that pose a real threat to the condition of human habitation. From a climate crisis to an ageing population, resource strain and global conflict, doing the right thing has never been more important or more crucial to our daily lives. With that, I am pleased to be able to share Triton’s latest Sustainability Review.
We’re proud to be the UK and Ireland’s market leader in showers, and in 2025 we celebrate our 50th year of showering innovation. But with that leadership comes a responsibility to ensure that we create a business that is actively reducing its impact on our planet. What’s more, we must continue to do business in a responsible and sustainable way.
We see our responsibility as a point of pride. We are increasingly adopting a leadership role to inform and inspire our customers and consumers about the ways that they can make more sustainable showering choices and habitual changes.
Our ongoing, award-winning campaign educates consumers on the ways that we can all help to save water, energy, carbon, and money from our bathroom behaviours. With our business purpose being to Inspire Everyone To Shower Sustainably, I believe our campaign is a part of how we are living that statement in our practices and taking visible action to see it become a reality.
We continue to make visible (and non-visible) changes to how we fundamentally operate. As you read through Triton’s Sustainability Year in Review, you will learn how we’re implementing more sustainable practices across our business.
A particular moment of pride I look back on last year was meeting His Majesty King Charles III and receiving the King’s Award for Enterprise. We are incredibly honoured to receive this award, being one of only 29 select businesses across the UK to be recognised by His Majesty in the Sustainable Development category. This prestigious award underscores our commitment to placing sustainability at the heart of our business strategy and our determination to achieve our ambitious ‘Net Zero by 2035’ target.
Our strategies show that every drop really does make a difference. The most visible changes - like how we fuel our fleet vehicles, what our products are made from, and how we pack them aren’t the only things we’re focused on. We’re also making changes behind closed doors - like the way we develop products and manage our returns. Nothing is off limits to creating positive change and making actual reductions to our carbon output.
Sustainability as a term is often linked to just environmental impact, but we understand that the term covers so much more. It is clear that from the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals that sustainability is multi-faceted, operating across a wide range of environmental, societal and economic factors. Through our strategic pillars of Planet, Product and People, we are moving the dial for our business as well as for the lives of people who are impacted, here at Triton and throughout the supply chain.
We know that to ultimately achieve our goals, we need to inspire and cultivate not just commitment, but action from our people and partners all across the business and our supply chain.
We are excited to champion change, and be ambassadors in our category, leading and paving the way for our peers and customers to make the same journey. I eagerly anticipate my next update to you as we progress towards our goals. Together, we can make showering more sustainable with every drop.
— Dave Tutton, Managing Director
If we had to ask ourselves why we’re here, what would we say? Triton’s Purpose defines our reasons for existing, guiding us in our actions and decisions now and in the future.
To inspire everyone to shower sustainably
When we look to the future, what kind of business do we really want to be? At Triton, we believe that being a more sustainable business will ultimately mean we’re a more successful business.
We will be the first name in showers and water heating, inspiring everyone to use water and energy efficiently and enjoyably with products to suit all budgets.
Our Beliefs and Principles Define How We Behave and Make Decisions: So at Triton, What Do We Stand For?
We don’t just talk about what matters—we live it. Every decision, every interaction, and every challenge is an opportunity to show what we stand for. This is how we move the dial, together.
Getting better at what we do is our business-as-usual. We believe that our individual strengths shine even brighter when we work as teams, sharing our skills and our ambitions. We create, learn and improve like it’s our regular day-to-day.
We started out in a garage in Atherstone just twenty minutes from our headquarters. If we want to keep growing, we need to be one step ahead and be seeking opportunities first. Our spirit of enterprising has stuck with us, helping us to improve productivity everywhere.
We believe in doing the right thing, not the easy thing. That means we must trust each other to have honest, candid conversations in the pursuit of being better. Our challenges, both individual and organisational, are best faced when we do it as a well informed, honest team.
We don’t believe in putting people into boxes. Instead, we offer opportunities to everyone, empowering our employees to reach their full potential. We work hard to remove unconscious biases, and we champion our people, whomever they may be.
Our surroundings affect us as much as we affect them. We work hard to reduce our impact on the environment as well as championing health & safety throughout the business.
We believe in doing the right thing, not the easy thing. That’s why we’re thrilled to announce that we were honoured with a King’s Award for Enterprise 2024 for our commitment to Sustainable Development. This award highlights our dedication to sustainability and our Net Zero goals.
The King’s Awards for Enterprise are prestigious UK business awards. In 2024, Triton was one of only 29 organisations recognised for Sustainable Development.
As part of Norcros PLC since 1987, Triton is a UK leader in electric showers. In 2019, we set ambitious targets to reduce our carbon footprint and environmental impact.
Dave Tutton, our managing director, commented:
“Given our market-leading position, we believe it is our responsibility to champion the water, energy, and carbonsaving benefits of showers at every opportunity. We were therefore delighted to receive a King’s Award for Excellence in Sustainable Development, which is testament to the hard work of everyone within our organisation who is contributing towards delivering change.
“Going forward, we are committed to achieving an ambitious ‘Net Zero by 2035’ target, with a near-term alignment target of 2028. There is a lot more to do but we are moving the dial and delivering solid progress, which makes the recognition we have received from the King’s Award for Enterprise so very special.”
The King’s Awards for Enterprise, previously known as the Queen’s Awards, were renamed in 2023 to reflect His Majesty The King’s desire to continue the legacy of HM Queen Elizabeth II.
We’re proud of our achievements and remain committed to making a positive impact on the environment and our community.
“Going forward, we are committed to achieving an ambitious ‘Net Zero by 2035’ target”
We Will Inspire Everyone to Shower More Sustainably— Because Every Drop Makes a Difference
Our sustainability strategy focuses on 3 pillars that will help us achieve our vision, and become a more sustainable and successful business.
Before we tell you about what we’re doing here at Triton we wanted to share what’s inspiring these changes - the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Whilst we have the desire to impact all UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in some way, there are 7 UN SDGs our activity is focusing on. These relate directly to our purpose of ‘inspiring everyone to shower more sustainably’, our core activity of product manufacture, or are central to our brand:
Minimising our environmental impact in everything we do. Achieve carbon Net Zero by 2035
Develop high performance, low carbon footprint showering & water heating innovations that improve efficiency for our customers
Be a safe, engaged and empowered team, connected to our local community
Minimising Our Environmental Impact in Everything We Do to Achieve Carbon Net Zero by 2035*
We’re committed to reaching Net Zero by 2035, aiming to reduce our full value chain (Scopes 1, 2, and 3) by at least 90% from our 2021 baseline. We’ve measured our complete cradle-to-grave emissions, providing us with a clear baseline and defined focus areas.
In 2021, we achieved the Carbon Trust Standard. In 2022, we became Carbon Neutral (PAS 2060:2014), certified by the Carbon Trust, covering Scope 1, 2, and Scope 3 Business Travel across UK and China. We maintained this in FY23/24, certified by PlanetMark, expanding to include water, waste, commuting, and paper use.
This year, we’re firmly shifting our focus toward net-zero. While we’ll continue supporting climate projects and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)— remaining effectively carbon neutral for Scope 1 and 2 emissions—our priority is now on cutting emissions at the source.
Carbon neutral means offsetting emissions through credits. Net zero goes further—cutting emissions in line with climate science and using removals only for what’s left.

Cross-Functional Teams, One Shared Goal: Meet The Sustainability 6
As sustainability became central to Triton, we created six crucial projects, each led by one of our leaders and involving a dedicated team. These projects drive core actions needed to reach our 2035 zero-carbon goal. This amazing initiative was awarded the Planet Mark Employee Engagement Award for engaging employees to tackle the biggest elements of our carbon footprint.
Use Phase Optimisation
With input from our technology and customer engagement teams, Use Phase Optimisation targets the significant energy consumed during shower use, which forms the largest part of our footprint. We’re promoting efficiency through user awareness initiatives and actively developing new, lowerenergy shower technologies.
Involving teams across product design and returns, this project focuses on maximising the value from returned showers. We aim to reuse internal components where possible, reducing our reliance on new materials, and to significantly improve our recycling processes for end-of-life products.
Driven by our sourcing and engineering departments, we aim to lower the carbon footprint of individual shower parts. This involves carefully selecting components and materials with a lower environmental impact, and exploring design innovations to reduce material usage and weight.
Led by our packaging and sustainability teams, Sustainable Packaging is focused on a fundamental shift in how we package our products. We are actively increasing the proportion of recycled content and working to eliminate all unnecessary single-use plastics to minimise waste.
Involving our facilities management and sustainability teams, this is undertaking a significant transition of our buildings away from gas-based heating systems, and lowering all our emissions. We are committed to adopting lower carbon alternatives to reduce our carbon footprint, and improving site energy efficiency and water consumption.
Our logistics and sustainability teams are focused on a progressive switch of our vehicle fleet to more sustainable, non-fossil fuel options. This will directly reduce the carbon emissions associated with our transportation activities.
Reducing Our Energy and Carbon Impact Through Our Nuneaton Site and Fleet Vehicles
Here’s the numbers part. We’re implementing an ambitious, multi-year programme to significantly cut carbon emissions. It’s a bit complex, so we’ve provided a summary to be clear and transparent.
Our Energy Consumption:
We are proud to have only purchased 100% REGO-certified renewable electricity for the Triton site since 2018.
In January 2021, we installed a new heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system to reduce gas emissions.
We’ve reduced our gas consumption by 7.40% in FY24/25 compared to FY23/24.
In FY23/24, we used 319,000 litres less water across the site compared to FY22/23, which equates to a 7.45% reduction in overall consumption.
In FY24/25, water usage rose by 39.5%, mainly due to increased new product testing activity. We’re now exploring ways to reduce consumption in that area.
As of April 2025, 55% of the Triton fleet are now electric vehicles (EVs), meeting our current targets. This includes 41% of the Service fleet and 73% of the Sales fleet.
Alongside the EV roll-out, we introduced the Light-foot system to promote fuel-efficient driving. Early driving data shows a 7.3% mpg improvement and a reduction in CO₂e emissions across the fleet.

Mindful Manufacture: Continuous Improvement to Our Manufacturing Processes at Our Facility in Nuneaton
We recycled 589 tonnes of material since 2021
We’re a proud UK manufacturer, and that pride drives us to constantly improve how we make our showers and run our factory. We’ve introduced an all-electric fork truck fleet, switched to LED lighting, and added rapid response doors to retain heat. We now use recycled paper and paper towels, and have installed energyefficient hand dryers that can cut CO₂ emissions by up to 88%. We also source standard pallets from recycling centres and use pre-owned pallet racking. Plus, our electric showers are designed to be repairable, with our service engineers helping extend product life-cycles.
Waste Reduction Is a Key Component in Our Mindful Manufacture Approach
Being a zero-to-landfill business since 2015, we’re committed to reducing waste. We have recycled 589 tonnes of material since 2021, continue to recycle 100% of all paper, and apply circular principles like reusing product components and packaging.
We’re also proud to launch Triton Refreshed—trusted refurbished showers, rigorously tested and repackaged to our high standards. Each comes with a free one-year parts and labour guarantee.

“Sustainability isn’t just about compliance— it’s about innovation, cost savings, and building a stronger Triton for the future.”
— Dave Tutton, Managing Director
Use Phase Reduction: Inspiring Our Customers to Change Their Showering Habits to Save Water, Energy, and Money
In 2021, we launched Every Drop Makes A Difference—a longterm campaign to encourage small changes in showering habits, like reducing temperature or time, to save water, energy, and money. It also promotes the benefits of energy-efficient electric showers to consumers, installers, and specifiers. We’ve taken the message in-house too—driving cultural change through internal communications and office projects. Plus, we offer free flow regulators to help households cut water use.
Sustainable Supply Chain: Championing Sustainable Practices With Our Vendor Base
In November 2023, we partnered with Qonstrue, experts in sustainable supply chains, to better understand the Net Zero plans of our Tier 1 suppliers. Over the past year, we’ve embedded their sustainability tools across our supply chain—driving progress in several key areas.
• Supplier Engagement: Expanded from 10 to 24 suppliers across 6 countries, covering over 85% of supply chain mass. Delivered 30 multilingual coaching sessions to align suppliers with Triton’s sustainability goals.
• Carbon & Compliance: Secured tCO₂e reporting from our largest suppliers and achieved a Science-Based Target commitment. Sustainability criteria are now embedded into our audits and SLAs, and we’re actively encouraging suppliers to align their Net Zero targets with Triton’s 2035 goal.
• Strategic Alignment: Renewed Qonstrue partnership in 2024, leveraging its platform for continuous improvement and board-level ESG reporting.
• Unified Messaging: Communicated Qonstrue’s value internally, reinforcing Triton’s leadership in sustainable supply chain transformation.
Develop High-Performance, Low-Carbon Footprint Showering & Water Heating Innovations That Improve Efficiency for Our Customers
For us to achieve our ambitious Net-Zero goals, we need to change how we conceptualise, manufacture, maintain and retire our products. We need to consider their full lifecycle, from the moment they start life on the pages of our New Product Development Team’s notebooks to the very last time your Triton shower is used, removed from your wall, replaced and disposed.
If you think that sounds like a lot, you’re right. That’s why we’re working towards long and short-term goals that will help us to achieve a product range with thoughtful manufacturing at its core.
We’ve achieved a lot already, re-designing our returns area into the Circularity Department at our HQ, where we are working to better process and recycle our products and return usable items into stock. However, although we know that recycling is an important step in the journey, we’re working hard on improving our processes to ensure we do what we can to reduce our carbon output year-on-year. That means putting circularity at the heart of the process going forwards, and building better ways of retiring our already existing products. We’ve also introduced sustainability reviews into all new product development projects, and we continue to review our material use, designing products which are stronger whilst using less material content.

Sustainable Functionality: Introducing More Sustainable Elements to New Product Design and Functionality to Reduce Our Carbon Footprint
We believe that small changes in daily routines can lead to big environmental wins. That’s why we created ENlight®, our latest thermostatic electric shower that blends elegant design with meaningful sustainability.
From the start, ENlight® was built with purpose. Its sleek matte finish conceals a core of recycled materials, and its smart features are designed to help users reduce water and energy use— without compromising comfort.
A subtle LED timer provides a gentle visual cue, encouraging shorter showers. And for those ready to take the next step, Eco Mode offers a timed 5-minute shower at the touch of a button.
ENlight® is more than a product—it’s part of our commitment to designing with tomorrow in mind. Every feature reflects our goal to reduce environmental impact across the product life-cycle.
We set out to create a shower that doesn’t just perform beautifully—it helps people understand their impact and make better choices.
ENVi® tracks your water and energy use—and even estimates the cost—helping users make smarter, more sustainable choices.
We’ve also assessed ENVi®’s full lifecycle (from manufacture and 5 years of use) with Climate Partner, reducing its carbon footprint and supporting climate projects aligned with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.
As part of our commitment to balance ENVi®’s carbon footprint, we’ve supported the removal of 9.5 tonnes of plastic from the ocean.
Omnicare and Omnicare Ultra are more than just accessible showers—they’re a reflection of our belief that sustainability and inclusivity go hand in hand.
Now proudly DSDC Accredited, they’re designed to support safe, independent showering with soft-touch buttons, easygrip levers, and adjustable safety settings.
For those who prefer a mixer option, our Elina range brings the same thoughtful design to a different format. Also DSDC Accredited, Elina showers offer a variety of styles to suit any bathroom—without compromising on accessibility.
Circularity: Improving Recyclability in Its Widest Sense— Including Reuse and Material Recovery From Returned Products
We all know that recycling is better than regular waste disposal. However, we understand that it is only a part of the journey towards more sustainable practises. We need to tackle material that can be safely and reliably reused or recovered first, reducing the amount of energy needed to process more virgin material. As a result, we are now working to adopt a more circular approach to our manufacturing processes. 2023 brought major changes to our returns department. We moved the department to a larger area in our headquarters and completely redefined our goals with returns. Our Circularity Department aims to better recycle material that is eligible, as well as recover parts that are non-safety critical and return them back into circulation on our warehouse floor. With over 40,000 items recovered from April 2023 to January 2024 rather than recycled, we are beginning to see the benefit, avoiding the equivalent of 91 tonnes of CO2e being released into the atmosphere.
Our packaging reflects our commitment to sustainability. In 2024 and 2025, we introduced 100% recycled brown branded packaging, estimated to save around 11 tCO2e annually. We also replaced 12,500 single-use boxes with returnable, collapsible warehouse boxes.
Across the supply chain, we’ve made further improvements: printed PE covers now use recycled EPE, hoses include recycled plastic cones and paper ties, UK bags are made from fully recycled content, bulk bags use 30% less plastic, and mini grip bags are now fully recycled.
These changes are helping us cut waste, reduce plastic, and move closer to fully circular packaging.
We’re quite proud of our diverse product range, but making a Triton shower takes a wide array of different components and materials.
We know that these parts have a carbon impact, and so we are working to identify, source, and adopt other materials that still give every Triton shower its trademark great performance, whilst being less impactful on the environment.
In 2024, we began rolling out 50% recycled ABS plastic in selected shower components—and we’re just getting started. This single material change is estimated to save around 60 tonnes of CO₂e in the first year alone—the equivalent of taking 103 cars off UK roads.
It’s a powerful reminder: if one change can do this much, imagine what’s possible across the rest of our materials and components.
Be a Safe, Engaged, and Empowered Team, Connected to Our Local Community
It can be hard to take a business at face value when it feels like that business doesn’t even have a face. That’s why we work hard to foster a community inside and outside of our day-to-day working lives.
Back in the “good old days”, Triton was founded in a small garage in Atherstone, Warwickshire - only 20 minutes away from our current HQ. We’re proud of our humble beginnings, and we love to give back to our local community that has been our home for 50 years. What’s more, so many of our brilliant team are from or live in the local area, which means we’re not just a place of work, we’re a recognisable name in all our surroundings.
For us to achieve our ambitious Net Zero goals, we need a team of talented, dedicated, hard working and innovative people. Without blowing our own trumpet, we’re proud to say we’ve got just the team we need. What’s more, we’re not only interested in how we can cut our carbon impact, but how we can support local community initiatives, give back to charities, and make the world around us a little bit easier to live in.
Giving Back To Charity

We’re passionate about nurturing our local environment, which is why we proudly partnered with Treeapp to support a fantastic initiative at the beautiful Merevale Hall Estate — the planting of 1,000 trees. As part of this effort, our Triton team got hands-on and enthusiastically planted 150 trees in a single day! This collaboration with Treeapp and Lead Forester Mike Holder supports local biodiversity, builds healthier habitats, and enriches soil for generations to come.
We’re proud to be the headline sponsors of Zoe’s Place Go Yellow Day. As part of this initiative, the Zoe’s Place mascot made a special appearance, bringing smiles to everyone. We enjoyed bright yellow cupcakes and hosted a fun hamper competition, with a wine and cheese tasting experience as the top prize. Through Go Yellow and other fundraising efforts, we raised and donated a total of £13,485 in FY 24/25 to Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice, which provides vital care for babies and young children with complex illnesses or disabilities—helping them enjoy the best possible quality of life.
Since 2021, we’ve been a proud partner of the Marine Conservation Society, supporting their mission to keep our coastlines clean. In 2024, our team joined forces with Marine Conservation representatives for a beach clean-up in Wales. Our dedicated crew put in a fantastic effort— removing over 165 items of litter, weighing more than 10 kilograms! Every bit counts when it comes to protecting our marine environment, and we’re proud to play our part in preserving it for future generations.
At Triton, we are honoured to support meaningful causes. This year, we had the opportunity to donate 12 water heaters to the Yorkshire Aid Convoy’s project—renovating a care home for 40 vulnerable individuals in Ukraine. With the help of 19 volunteers, the team transformed the 40-bed care home in just 5 days. We were proud to contribute to this remarkable effort and support such impactful work.
We’re proud to support the Canal & River Trust—an ongoing partnership that reflects our commitment to protecting the local environment. For several years, we’ve sponsored a stretch of waterway beside our headquarters, where our team regularly takes part in clean-up activities. These include clearing the canal and towpath, repairing fences, and installing bird boxes to support local wildlife.
In addition, our employees continue to show incredible generosity through a range of charitable efforts—from mental health awareness events to raffles and coffee mornings supporting local causes. Their dedication reflects the caring spirit of Triton.
Growing Our People: Educating and Upskilling Our Employees and the Local Community
We don’t just want Triton to be a great place to work –we want our employees to feel supported, challenged, and prepared for whatever endeavours they wish to pursue.
In 2023, we introduced the LEAPT programme. LEAPT is an accredited apprenticeship programme that equips our employees with the skills to operate in a lean way. This involves identifying tasks that could be improved for efficiency and applying recognised techniques to do so. So far, 9 employees have completed the LEAPT programme, with a further 5 currently enrolled.
We also support Team Leader and Supervisor training and development, helping employees upskill into management positions and supporting our team as they grow.
Speaking of learning, we offer all employees the opportunity and support to undertake additional training schemes and courses through professional institutions, helping to develop and nurture future change-makers.
And while we’re on the topic of the future, we proudly offer apprenticeship and work experience programmes to students from across the Midlands, from all backgrounds and at all levels – from local secondary school Oak Woods to Loughborough University’s School of Design. To date, 3 employees have completed their apprenticeships and continued their careers at Triton, with 4 more currently completing theirs – bringing the total number of apprentices supported so far to 21.

Great place to Work Survey: Insights That Inspire Action
In 2024, Triton reaffirmed its commitment to creating a workplace where people feel safe, supported, and inspired. With an impressive 86% response rate to our Great Place to Work survey, we were proud to see 63% of employees agree that Triton is a great place to work. Strong scores in safety (90%) and inclusion (79%) reflect our culture of care and community.
While we celebrate these wins, we’re also focused on areas for growth—particularly around management clarity and fairness. These insights are helping us shape a better Triton, where every voice matters and every improvement counts.
Shaping Our Culture: One Conversation at a Time
The Our Voice Committee is one of the ways we’re making sure employee feedback leads to real change. This cross-functional forum brings together colleagues from across the business to discuss everything from improving facilities and restaurant hours to reviewing benefits and onboarding. Recent wins include implementing a Costa coffee machine, refining internal communications, and reviewing flexible holiday options. It’s also a key channel for responding to our Great Place to Work survey feedback—ensuring we’re not just listening, but acting. Because at Triton, progress is a team effort.
