Trinity offers 200+ credit-bearing internships, research and community engagement opportunities, and immersive experiences— on and beyond campus.
Theory and concepts only get you so far. At Trinity, you will learn through a range of hands-on real-world programs and experiences that will help you create your own path.
Our Trinity Plus curriculum combines the power of the liberal arts with off-campus learning experiences.
Hartford and Its Many Offerings
The capital city of Hartford offers a number of educational opportunities for hands-on learning through a unique network of public service, nonprofit, and educational organizations, as well as many corporations and industries.
The Center for Hartford Engagement and Research (CHER)
CHER works to strengthen academic and co-curricular partnerships in Hartford communities, earning Trinity the 2023 winner of Campus Compact’s Richard Guarasci Award for Institutional Transformation.
To graduate, students complete 32 academic credits and 3 “plus” credits of their choice. Students also complete a wellness requirement in their first two years, encouraging lifelong habits.

Trinity-Infosys Partnership
Global technology corporation Infosys partners with Trinity to offer opportunities to students that combine a liberal arts education with technology.
Global Study
More than half of students study abroad through approved programs. Trinity also sponsors signature programs in Cape Town, New York City, Shanghai, and Vienna, and on our Rome campus, a home away from college.

Chapel is home to many Spiritual and Religious Life programs and The Chapel Singers.
Enjoy musical traditions including the annual Samba Fest, the Trinity International Hip Hop Festival, Spring Weekend, ensembles, and carillon concerts.

“Every year I bring to campus musicians who are master craftspeople, whether Grammy winning or multigenerational community practitioners. My students engage and participate as equals with these musicians. Their reflections and interactions help further research findings, too.”

It lets you look into shadows of the historical record and get your eyes to adjust, so that you can begin to see clearly what emerges from the darkness. We hope that students will discover the intricacies of individual forms of written expression.”

Meet dynamic doers.
Abby Holland ’24 rarely shies away from an academic challenge, but building a circuit was a new one.
Abby knew she wanted to study engineering when she came to Trinity from Braintree, Massachusetts. In a digital circuits course, she faced the challenge of learning a new skill. With the encouragement and support of Professor Lin Cheng, she ultimately designed a seven-segment display engine.
“I had no experience building a circuit from computer coding,” says Abby.
For Abby, Trinity’s small classes provide a more productive environment for focused learning and faculty attention. “Professor Cheng was integral. I spent many days in the electrical engineering lab. I’d email him often, asking for help, and he always made time to meet.”
For Professor Lin Cheng,
level of connection with students brings him joy.
He often involves his students in research projects, which include co-authoring peer-reviewed papers and co-presenting at conferences. His philosophy is to be “fair and open, challenging and motivating, and to have high expectations toward attainable goals.”
“After Professor Cheng’s class, I am much more comfortable taking classes that do not come naturally to me,” reflects Abby. “These types of classes bring confidence to a student’s problem-solving abilities, which is essential to engineering.
“I was impressed with Trinity’s liberal arts approach to engineering. I can take the necessary engineering classes for the degree but can also get to experience many important non-STEM courses for a more well-rounded education.”

Among our students who receive financial support, 40% receive annual grants that exceed $40,000, some upward of $60,000 per year.
