Recreation briefs: Golf classes, kickball league, basketball camp slated

Beginning golf class at Spessard Holland Beginning group golf classes will be held at the Spessard Holland Golf Course in Melbourne Beach on Saturdays beginning July 27. The series of five, one-hour GetGolfReady classes will be held at 10 a.m. and cost $99 per player. Class size is limited, so sign up early. Call 321-952-4529 for more information. Lively hits an ace at Aquarina’s 16th Tom Lively had a hole-in-one on the 16th hole at Aquarina. Lively was playing with his family on Father’s Day, and his son witnessed the shot. The 16th was playing at 162 yards. Co-ed kickball league starting A Monday night co-ed kickball league is beginning July 15 in Cape Canaveral. The league is currently holding registration for the league. Cost to join is $275 per team. Melbourne’s Scott on third-place team Steve Scott of Melbourne teamed with one other player to finish in a third-place tie in the Michelin two-man scramble in the Treasure Coast Senior Tour at Jupiter Country Club. Scott teamed with Stuart’s Jerry Tucker to shoot 30-32, finishing one stroke behind the two winning teams. Jerry Impellittiere (Palm City) and Mike Jonges (West Palm Beach) tied with the team of Ed Humenik (North Palm Beach) and Danny St. Louis (West Palm Beach). Both teams shot 61. Baytree schedules junior golf camps Baytree National Golf links will be offering two-day and three-day junior golf camps, with three hours of instruction each day covering the full swing, short game, golf rules and etiquette. The cost of the camp is $150 for three days, $100 for two days. Lunch is ­included on the final day of camp. Dates are: July 16-17-18 (ages 11-17); and July 23-24 (ages 6-10). The camp dates are July 15-17. The camp is three hours per day plus lunch. It is open to golfers 6 to 13, and they must wear a collared shirt and no jeans. The cost is $100.
