Apply for financial aid, veterans benefits and active military assistance.

Purchase books online at https://bookstore.tridenttech.edu. Verify/submit per ESO/MYCAA guidelines. Have the Registrar’s office complete ETP or personalized formal plan for evaluation in enough time to meet deadlines prior to the start date of classes.

Apply for financial aid at fafsa.gov. Follow instructions on the last page of this book. Be sure to complete the 2022-2023 FAFSA for Fall Semester. Apply for VA Education Benefits. For help applying for benefits, contact the VETS Center at 843.574.6882, or go to www.va.gov and click on “Education and Training.” Email a copy of your COE (Certificate of Eligibility) and a copy of your confirmation receipt to the TTC VA office at veteransassistance@tridenttech.edu.

Submit MYCAA and (TA) Tuition Assistance documents to TTC’s Business office via email. Email Chartara Richardson at chartara.richardson@tridenttech.edu. Submit VA Certification Request Form to initiate payment process. This must be done for every semester you are registered for classes. Complete and submit the form at my.tridenttech.edu > Financial Life > My Veterans Assistance.

Fill out TTC VA forms online. • Log into my.tridenttech.edu portal. • Select “Menu” in top left-hand corner. • Select “Financial Life” from the drop-down menu. • Select “My Veterans Assistance” from the drop-down menu. • Under the tab that says “Initial Benefits,” complete steps 2-5 according to your VA Education Benefit. If applicable, apply for MYCAA. Apply online or contact your Family Readiness Center for assistance. You will need to request your ETP from the Registrar’s office at records@tridenttech.edu. Allow at least three business days for the ETP to be completed once you have registered for classes. Obtain your personalized formal plan for evaluationevaluated degree plan for TA. Print from the my.tridenttech.edu student portal after you register for classes.

Attend class. If you don’t attend class by participating online or in person, you will be reported as never-attended and removed from your courses for the term. For help with online classes, email StudentD2Lhelp@tridenttech.edu or call 843.574.6999 (choose option 2). If you stop attending classes for two or more weeks, then TTC’s VA office must report you to the Department of VA for non-attendance. This will stop or reduce any monthly benefits you are receiving. Military students using TA must have approval from their supervisor.

visiting/transient students Trident Technical College welcomes visiting students from other colleges. You are a visiting student, or transient student, if you are earning a degree from another institution but wish to take courses here at TTC to transfer back to your home institution and you are not interested in completing a degree or certificate program at TTC.

• Upload your transient letter from your home institution through your Apply Now account or email it to admissions@tridenttech.edu. • You will receive an email in your my.tridenttech.edu email account when you can register for class(es).

To apply and register as a visiting/transient student:

Meet with your home institution advisor and obtain a transient letter, ensuring that classes taken at TTC will transfer back to your program. You are responsible for ensuring that you have met the prerequisites (prior coursework and skills you will need to succeed in a course) before registering for a TTC course.

• Register using Navigate (see https://bit.ly/RegisterNavigate). Check your registration schedule in Navigate to verify that you are enrolled in the correct courses and at the correct times. • Pay your tuition. As a visiting student, you are not eligible for financial aid.

Apply for TTC admission at https://www.tridenttech.edu/start/apply/ • Create an account on Apply Now and complete the online application, selecting “Visiting/Transient” as your student type. • Upload/submit required supplemental documentation. For a list, view in your Apply Now account or visit https://www.tridenttech.edu/start /before/ad_visiting.htm

Activate and read your TTC email regularly. • Go to www.tridenttech.edu and select the TTC Portal link at the top of the page. · Enter your username (tridenttech.edu email address). · Enter your initial password (Aa######$, where ###### is the last six digits of your social security number). You will be asked to reset your password if this is your first time using it. • Find login help at https://www.tridenttech.edu/ student/LoginHelp.htm.

• Monitor your class schedule for potential changes.

Buy books and other required materials before classes begin to be prepared for the first day.

Attend classes. D2L for your class(es) becomes available at least one day before classes begin.

At the completion of your coursework, order and pay for official transcripts so that the grades will be sent to your home institution.

dual credit students Next Steps after High School Graduation Dual Credit students who graduate from high school will have their Dual Credit program status closed at TTC. Students are responsible for ensuring that their educational opportunities continue by taking the actions listed below. If you are continuing your education at Trident Technical College: 1. Apply Now - Log in at http://bit.ly/TTCapplynow using your existing Apply Now username and password, or create an account to submit a new application. 2. Submit the following to the Admissions Office: a. Proof of legal presence in the United States (copy of driver’s license, state issued ID, etc.) b. English and math placement, which will be based on the following: A final, official high school transcript with a weighted GPA of 3.0 or higher; Completion of English and/or math classes at Trident Tech as a dual credit student; Qualifying scores on the SAT (530 SAT Reading and Writing, 600 SAT Math), ACT (19 English, 22 Math); or Completion of the Next-Generation ACCUPLACER Placement Test at TTC Other options (Contact your Navigator to arrange alternative placement methods if you do not have any of these) 3. Apply for financial aid, including grants and S.C. Lottery-funded Tuition Assistance, by completing the 2022-2023 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at fafsa.gov. Complete a Navigate Your Path to Success session online at http://bit.ly/HubatTTC. You will be assigned a Navigator or an academic advisor depending on your declared major. 5. Make an appointment to see your assigned Navigator or academic advisor for advising and registration.

TTC has partnered with Parchment to provide quick and easy access to your transcript. You can send your TTC transcript electronically to the college(s) of your choice. Important Financial aid information Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at fafsa.gov. Completing the FAFSA is the key to finding out your eligibility for federal and state financial aid as well as some scholarships. Check www.tridenttech.edu to see if you are eligible for additional tuition funding. IMPORTANT: Include TTC’s school code 004920 on your FAFSA so Trident Technical College will receive your FAFSA. Remember that every October, a new FAFSA is available and must be completed for the next academic year (fall, spring, summer). Complete the new FAFSA early for the best financial aid package. After you submit your FAFSA, you will receive a Student Aid Report (SAR) that summarizes the information you provided. Be sure to check it carefully to make sure it is accurate and complete. The Financial Aid office may need additional information from you, so check financial aid self-service in the student portal and respond promptly to requests for information.
