“Step Forward and SHINE!” Compiled by Rebecca Hall Gruyter I am Rebecca Hall Gruyter, a Leadership Coach, Empowerment Leader, and Influencer committed to bringing experts and influencers forward, so that together we can lean in and make the world a better place, one heart and life at a time. I’m founder of Your Purpose Driven Practice, creator of the Women’s Empowerment Series events/TV shows, and CEO of RHG Media Productions™ . I’m passionate about women stepping forward and sharing their wisdom, heart, lives, and stories because I know firsthand what it is like to come from a much-disempowered place. I experienced all types of abuse during my formative years, an environment which made me believe false messages like: “I am not okay,” “There is something wrong with me,” and “It is NOT safe to be seen or heard.” In my growth journey, I thankfully discovered that these beliefs are not true, that I am beautifully and wonderfully made, on purpose and for a purpose, and that it is safe to be seen and heard. From this empowered place I’ve built an impassioned cause and global business of radio/TV media platforms, books, coaching programs, and speaking to support women to step into the center of their lives and SHINE! My heart’s calling is to equip and empower women to really step forward fully in their lives. I believe that on this journey we need others to encourage us, to speak wisdom and truth into us, to love us and cheer us on, and to help us stand up again when we fall. This book was designed to walk beside the reader in just this way, to help them complete all that they are called to complete. I invited each heart-centered, powerful co-author to share their personal stories, what they

experienced and what they learned. Our readers will feel the transparent heartbeat of those who have walked through dark and challenging times, have triumphed, and now have wisdom to share that will help make the journey easier for others. I want every reader to know this: You have unique gifts, talents, abilities, stories, journeys, and perspectives that you alone can bring forward. Be willing to share the gift of you! Be willing to be seen and to SHINE! My audience is any woman or man who wants to live a purposeful, meaningful, joyful life yet is feeling held back or sensing there is something more for them to learn or do in order to fully step into what they are being called to be. For many, they have experienced (as I have) something in their past that has disempowered them, kept them in the shadows instead center stage in their lives. They yearn to know how to be in alignment with their core values, their passions and their business so they can impact the world in the unique and wonderful ways in which they are gifted. Yes, we’ll be releasing another anthology called Experts & Influencers: The Leadership Edition, in July of 2019. Our amazing co-authors will share their personal expertise on everything from leadership mindset, habits for success, leadership skills and abilities, to showing up and stepping into powerful leadership and influence. The Kindle and print versions are available on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/StepForward-SHINE-Rebecca-Hall-Gruyter-ebook/dp/B07HGQ67CY. You can also visit my website to find this and our other exciting books: http://yourpurposedrivenpractice.com/books/ Rebecca@YourPurposeDrivenPractice.com www.YourPurposeDrivenPractice.com www.RHGTVNetwork.com (925) 787-1572 What would you tell others if they want to write? I believe we all have stories, wisdom and gifts to share, and there are people who need to hear them from us. If anyone feels a pull on their heart to reach out in this way, listen to it and take action. Writing is also a wonderful way to get more visible, so you can have more impact and influence in the world. The reach of our books is often in the millions – think about being seen and heard by that many people! And I just say this to you: Be willing to be seen and SHINE!

God’s Diamond in the Rough is an autobiography and roadmap of how to overcome domestic violence by reconstructing one’s thoughts from a victim’s mindset to a victor’s mindset via various tools utilized by the author. It allows for the conversation of how to develop true self-love to be manifested in such a manner that the victim no longer focuses on the past but learns how to constantly live happily in the present. On top of being an author, Veronica is also a phenomenal Transformational Speaker and Life Coach. Her mission is to assist as a guide for others to develop a successful roadmap towards their NEW ID and not the identification that was given to them by their parents, environment or various societal factors. This passion was invoked after developing a warrior and not worrier mindset, overcoming 28 years of incest, financial, physical, spiritual and domestic violence suffered at the hands of her birth-father who was a minister. In 2019, I want to be known as the Diamond Queen that glistened hope in the lives of domestic violence victims by showing them that they can live their Best Blessed Lives in spite of their trauma. Have You Hugged Yourself Today? 5 ways you can show love to yourself Miste Anders—Peace, Calm and Tranquility Coach As part of an online book club I recently finished a book called, “Self-Compassion: The Proven Power of Being Kind to Yourself” by Kristin Neff, Ph.D and this book gave me such great insight to the messages I am telling myself. In the process I have come to realize the many messages that I may tell myself as well as how compassionate or the lack thereof to myself. Most of my messages internally as well as an occasionally verbal outburst are NEGATIVE things that I say to myself are downright rude and mean if I may say so myself. “Most of my messages internally as well as an occasionally verbal outburst are NEGATIVE things that I say to myself.” “You know you got up too late” “You did not even make or have breakfast, you’re such a failure” “Can’t you get to work on time you’re always a few minutes late” “Wow, was that a good food choice, I don’t think so” “Were you not supposed to turn that in last week?” “You really need to try better” “Can’t you do that faster?”

And this is all within the first couple of hours in the day. So perhaps this sounds familiar to you as well. If this does, I just want to encourage you to get off the “Beat Up Ourselves Train” and to have a more compassionate attitude towards our very own selves. An attitude one would have toward a good friend, a young child or someone you love dearly. The first thing I find is that I have to catch myself doing these things and speaking to myself in this way and catch it immediately. Once I catch it I replace it with kind words, gentle admonishment and loving encouragement. I think the key is awareness and the second key as to what to replace it with. “Once I catch it, I replace it with kind words, gentle admonishment and loving encouragement.”

So, in light of our conversations, musings and/or our negative speak to ourselves I want to give you five (5) ways that you can hug yourself in a moment’s notice.

1. HUG BREAK - The first way you can hug yourself is to literally take a hug break. In the midst of saying or thinking something critical toward yourself just stop and give yourself a hug all over your body starting from the top of your head to your feet. Just imagine a gentle hug all over. 2. SPEAK KIND WORDS OUT LOUD TO YOURSELF- In the middle of a negative thought toward yourself stop and quickly replace it with kind words like (“It’s ok I know you can do it, “Don’t give up, you can do it”, “It’s ok, you are a work in progress.”) and say them out loud to yourself. 3. AFFIRMATION REPLACEMENT - So once again in the midst of the internal struggle and negative terminology have a prepared affirmation just to ward off the negative thoughts. For example: I am capable, I am worthy, I am getting better and my all-time favorite is, It is well. 4. USE YOUR REMINDER APP - You can set your reminder app to send you positive messages that are positive statements as many times a day that you desire. A morning, mid-day and evening positive messages may be good starts. 5. RECORD YOURSELF SAYING POSITIVE MESSAGES - Take a moment to record yourself saying various messages to yourself as well and whenever you begin the negative messages play the messages so you can hear them. If you are in an environment where you do not want others to hear the message simply plug in your earbuds so that it is private to you. Something tells me that even if others were to hear it too it may encourage them in their positive self-talk as well.

“My favorite (affirmation) of all-time favorite is “IT IS WELL.”’

I encourage you to hug yourself often with these gentler kinder ways to show selfcompassion to yourself. “You’ve been criticizing yourself for years and it hasn’t worked. Try approving of yourself and see what happens.” —Louise L. Hay, You Can Heal Your Life

Spotlight Nancy Tarr Hart Nancy Tarr Hart, PhD has a wide and varied history of personal and professional experience with a career that encompasses working 40+ years in the worlds of business, education, and theatre. Also, an intuitive and mystic, the understanding of her spiritual gifts fully ignited in 1995 and, in 1999 she was guided by Spirit/Sophia to begin an academic journey that culminated in a PhD in Religious Studies with a concentration in feminist theory, the Divine Feminine, and Marian Studies from the University of Trinity Saint David in Lampeter, Wales. She is one of the contributors to the collection of daily inspirations entitled, Empowering YOU, Transforming Lives (compiled by Rebecca Hall Gruyter), and is also the author of the soon-to-be-released Volume 2 of the Beyond the Veil series, Unraveling the Mystery of Mary. Currently an Assistant Professor of Philosophy at the Notre Dame of Maryland University, she is an ardent fiber artist who enjoys traveling, reading, writing, gardening, and sharing her home with her cats, Kali and Bastet. The book—the second of a two-volume series—and the doctoral thesis from which it materialized—are the culmination of a Spirit-driven chapter of my own spiritual journey. The world of Spirit took very seriously its commitment to remind me that pursuing my doctoral degree, the research it would entail, and the results the research would reveal, were all tied into a promise and commitment I made to myself before entering this life. This was the lifetime that I would “finish the work.” In other words, not only did the research and the findings revealed play a significant role in my purpose for being, but it became crystal clear that another part of my purpose was to ensure that this information was not relegated to a university library shelf in the UK. The information needed to be moved out to into the wider world; hence, the book series. It is my hope that they will gain an enhanced, renewed, or new perspective and insight into Mary of Nazareth, a figure who has never been absent or eliminated from Christian teachings, as it explores her life and contributions to the world based on her own merits

(as opposed to solely through the lens of her role as the mother of Jesus My audience consists of anyone who is: on their own spiritual quest; hoping to incorporate a stronger feminine aspect into their current spiritual understanding and practice (whether that is defined as the Divine Feminine, the Goddess, or by the women who have played important roles within humanity’s ongoing relationship with and search for the Divine); looking for ways in which to reinforce their beliefs within the context of a more universally applicable spirituality; or, being encouraged to move outside of the parameters of convention that dictate our traditional religious paradigms and are in search of a tool to help them to accomplish that task. Other audience members include those who are students of wisdom and truth who are being guided, and/or are actively working, to broaden their own spiritual understanding and personal relationship with the Divine— one that may or may not fit perfectly into the prescribed parameters of current religious models. The audience could also be those who fit into one, a combination of, or all of these categories. It will be available on Kindle and in hard copy through Amazon and Barnes and Noble. The series will also be made available as a set for those who are interested in purchasing both. tarrheart@gmail.com Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/nancy.t.hart.9 and https://www.facebook.com/Wisdoms-Daughters-1189457091202840/ Instagram: Nancy Tarr Hart

Thankfulness Sharon Gulley Cultivating a spirit of thankfulness honors God and strengthens our faith. It also strengthens our relationships with other people. We can’t be in a right relationship with God or with anyone without a spirit of thankfulness. Cultivating a spirit of thankfulness is more than a good idea; it’s a direct command from God. In the Old Testament, God laid down specific guidelines for the Israelites to bring offerings of thanks. In the New Testament, believers are instructed to be thankful in all circumstances. When we’re struggling with trials and difficulties, this sounds like a strange command, especially since we live in a culture that encourages us to act on the basis of how we feel in the moment; but God knows that when we focus on our blessings instead, it’s easier to keep our problems and concerns in the right perspective. Being thankful also improves our physical and emotional health. Holding on to feelings of thankfulness boosts our immune system and increases blood supply to our heart. Daily guided affirmations or the habit of keeping a weekly gratitude journal can increase our alertness, enthusiasm, and energy, and improve our sleep. People who describe themselves as feeling grateful tend to suffer less stress and depression than the rest of the population. Reminding yourself what you have to be thankful for and recording your thankfulness each day helps to cement how thankful you are. It doesn’t matter how difficult your life is at the moment, there is always something to be thankful for. Finding that will help you deal with the other parts of life. Record 3-5 things you’re thankful for at the end of every day. When you’re having a particularly difficult time, it can be beneficial to go back to what you’ve written previously. Each day as you read the Bible ask yourself, what can I give thanks to God for? There will be many things: for who God is, what he’s life, what he’s done for us in Christ, blessings of friends/family/church. Keep on mulling over/meditating on these things throughout the day, rejoicing and giving thanks to God for them. This attitude of thankfulness will see you through all the trials and tribulations of life. I will give thanks to you with all my heart, O Lord my God. I will honor you forever because your mercy toward me is great. Psalms 86:12-13 Ask yourself today: How often do I express gratitude to God or to other people? Taking care of Mature Skin By Arlene Major Aging is something that we all will face and that we most definitely will go thru in our lives. Women tend to think about this process more than men do. In the quest for smooth skin, less wrinkles and age defying techniques, we mostly have tried just about everything to stop the aging process or at least pump the brakes on it a little. My question to the masses though is; do you have a skin care regimen and if so, is it beneficial to your skin type? Your skin is the largest organ of your body. No matter your age, your skin faces constant bombarded with life. Free radicals, pollution, health concerns, make up and more. By 2050, 17 percent of the world’s population is expected to be 65 or older. As the world gets older, aging becomes more or a concern. As our population grows, people may live longer but not necessarily live a healthier lifestyle. (massivesci.com) so, what can you do to help take care of your skin as you age? There are many different products out there and many different skin types so how do you decide? I am going to talk to you about my skin care regime and hope that it help you understand the benefits of healthy skin care. I myself use the Mary Kay Timewise skin care line and I love the results. As a woman of mature age, I have finally found a product that literally does what it says and has given me the skin that I want to have. Here are some skin care rules that every woman of mature age should follow no matter what is used. 1. Wash your face with a cream-based cleanser. As you age, you lose moisture, nutrients and natural oils that result in drier skin. You should wash twice a day (morning and night) and remember to never rub the skin on your face always pat dry. 2. Seek out the light! Illumination can brighten the appearance of your skin. A serum is the way to go. It can give the appearance of lifted and firmer looking skin. 3. 3. Hydrate. Hydrated skin is healthier looking skin. If you are going to mask, follow thru with a rich hydrating moisturizer that will keep skins smooth appearance.

4. Tell me more about my eyes. This delicate area is often passed over. Having a great eye cream is a great addition to any skincare regimen. Eyes can become puffy, lose their brightness and appear tired. Retinol is a great addition to aging skin and an eye firming or renewal cream that can help diminish the appearance of dark circles, puffiness and crow’s feet. 5. Use a separate cream for day and night. Getting a cream with and SPF or 15 or higher that is broad spectrum is beneficial. Limiting your time in the sun is also a help as well. As far as the night goes, a cream that is quickly absorbed and leaves you feeling like you have nourished your skin can give your skin that renewed appearance with continued use. No matter what you use, skin care is important. After all, you wear it daily so why not make it look its best! You can visit my website at www.marykay.com/amajor2019 or visit www.facebook.com/flawlessbluu1 to discover what works for you. I handle individual, group and corporate orders and offer gift wrap as well. Ask me how to earn free product. If you have any questions, feel free to email me as well. I will work with you to find what works for you. Come and discover your Beautiful BLU.
