Land Acknowledgment

Trebas acknowledges that we are on the traditional territory of many nations including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples and is now home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples. The Trebas also acknowledges that Toronto is covered by Treaty 13 signed with the Mississaugas of the Credit, and the Williams Treaties signed with multiple Mississaugas and Chippewa bands.

Since 1979, Trebas Institute has been a leader in training creative talent for the audio and film industry. Recently, we’ve added technology programs to the mix. Film & Television Production and Post-Production

Hone your creative skills during this 48-week film, television and postproduction program.

You’ll boost your knowledge through a range of hands-on projects such as short films, a web series, television broadcasts and commercials.

With the industry insights from our expert instructors and the experience of using industry-standard equipment, you will stand out in the job market after graduation.

Trebas gave us all the tools we needed and helped us understand many of the aspects of filmmaking and production. We had numerous courses to complete in one year, but it was worth it, as they were extremely detailed and structured.

Factory Film Studio Partnership

One of Trebas’ most prominent partnerships is with Factory Film Studios. Inspired by the work of Andy Warhol, the studio has produced numerous films in a multitude of genres, including fantasy, horror, and action, and has produced feature films, series, and documentaries, some in collaboration with Trebas students.

Audio Engineering and Production /DJ Arts

Combining theory with practice, Trebas Institute’s Audio Engineering and Production program will teach you how to record, edit and mix sounds at a professional level.

You’ll be creating and capturing the sounds behind a range of different applications including music recording, film & TV, radio, corporate events, digital media, and live performance.

Our expert instructors will teach you how to use modern recording and editing equipment whilst sharing their specialist skills and industry insights with you. By the end of the program, you will be equipped with the practical skills and contemporary knowledge needed to thrive in the Music Industry.

Diploma in Cybersecurity Specialist Co-op

Trebas Institute’s Diploma in Cybersecurity Specialist Coop program will train you in best practices in computer security. This will give you the tools and skills to participate in the development of models, systems, or resources to protect computer data.

This one-year program is ideal for those looking to become familiar with all aspects of cyber security such as blockchain, big data and the IoT (Internet of Things).

OSAP: Ontario Student Assistance Program

The Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP) provides assistance through loans and grants. It is open to Ontario residents of any age who are:

A. Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or protected persons.

B. Meet Ontario residency requirements (12 months or more).

C. Enrolled in an approved postsecondary institution taking an approved program.

OSAP can help with:

] Submit a copy of a valid government-issued photo ID

] Submit proof of domestic status

] Possess an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (grade 12) or its equivalent or be at least 18 years of age and pass the Wonderlic Test (see details below)

] Pay a non-refundable application fee of $50 and enrollment fee of $200

About the Wonderlic Test

] 8-minute test with 30 questions

] Measures cognitive ability and problem-solving skills

] You will receive a link from Trebas Institute to complete the test free of charge

] You must achieve a minimum score of 17 for Film & Television Production and Post-Production. For all other programs, the minimum score is 15

If you have attended English language-based education systems, you can submit:

Official proof of a degree or diploma awarded by a recognized educational institution where English is the language of instruction, and this institution is located in a country where English is the official language.

For non-native English-speakers

If your first language is not English, you must submit one of the following:

] Certificate of completion from recognized English as a Second Language (ESL) or English for Academic Preparation (EAP) program at a college, university, or approved pathway language organization, which demonstrates an equivalency of required English proficiency.

] Score from a recognized English proficiency test equivalent to IELTS 5.5, as per the equivalency table below.*
