THE SAFER HULL PARAGON HUB OPENS TO THE COMMUNITY

Today the Safer hull Paragon Hub opened its doors to the community, in an effort to make the station an even safer place to be.

The Hub was created in collaboration with BTP, Humberside Police, local community agencies and charities, to provide a safe place for those in need. The previously empty retail unit will now host BTP and Humberside Police, alongside charities, to offer support to vulnerable people or anyone who may need support.

A variety of charities have already signed up to take regular slots in the hub including:

• The Railway Children

• Samaritans,

• Vulnerable Exploited Missing and Trafficked Team, and

• Andy’s Man Club.

The hub is part of our continued commitment to safeguarding, alongside the appointment of safeguarding champions, mental health ambassadors, and our work in achieving the Safeguarding in Rail accreditation.

Kathryn O’Brien, Operations and Customer Experience Director, at TPE, said: “ We’re delighted to open the Safer Hull Paragon Hub and provide a point of contact to help protect vulnerable people on our railway.

“Our customers are always at the heart of everything we do and we’re always looking for ways to make the railway an even safer space for customers and our colleagues. The opening of this innovative safeguarding hub is a landmark moment in our progress.”

The Safer Hull Paragon Hub will be open every day of the week between 9:00 and 20:00, from Monday 14 August.

#TALKTPE – FINDING OUR FUTURE TRAINEE DRIVERS

Last week we hosted our first #TalkTPE event where we invited prospective future Trainee Drivers to learn more about the role.

Around 60 people dialled into the online event, finding out what it was like to work at TPE, more about the Trainee Driver role, and what the application process entails.

They were then given the opportunity to ask their own questions about the exciting role, finding out more about pursuing this career.

The event was hosted by Harriet Harbidge, Diversity and Inclusion Manager, Lydia Brooks, Resource and Development Manager, and Daniel Dreggs, Lead Driver Manager (North).
