As a reminder, although we maintain a very liberal open-door policy at all levels in the organization and encourage open communication on a regular basis through team meetings and the review process, our virtual suggestion boxes are provided for offering suggestions aimed at improving the work environment for all staff and the quality of our services for clients. Your response is completely anonymous – your submission cannot be traced to you or your computer unless you provide your name, which is optional.

QUESTION 1:
Do you feel your firm is effectively recruiting new employees? How?
COMMENT 1:
“Members of TPD frequently attend job fairs, industry organization meetings, social gatherings, etc. to market to potential new employees. There has a been significant growth in the amount of new hires over the past two years.”
COMMENT 2:
“Company has a positive reputation and wordof-mouth as a good employer for career growth. Evident in the number of numerous employees with 10+ years at the company.”
COMMENT 3:
“I believe that we are increasing our presence in colleges and actively recruiting people. I do feel that we need more support staff to create a support network in the company for clear and precise communication.”
COMMENT 4:
“The TPD job listing on the website is so generic - right now we have 48 job openings listed for a 300-person company. There’s no focus or targeted effort on this front. How can an HR staff of 3 effectively handle all HR tasks and handle recruitment. There’s no social media recruiting, which is a big miss also.”
RESPONSE 4:
There are multiple reasons for posting numerous job openings. One reason is due to the recruiting software we use. If, for example, we want to post an open position at Freehold, Harrisburg, or Pittsburgh, we must post the same job description for each office. We cannot post one job description and permit the application to choose which office they want to apply to.
The second reason is we have the workload necessary to support the positions.
There are ~3 hiring posts per month on our social media channels (LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram) – check them out, follow us and share, share, share!
COMMENT 5:
“There seems to be a disconnect between technical staff and human resources staff on the employee type needed to be filled (experience, specialty, etc.). HR staff should be part of the conversation from the beginning before pursuits and postings are active.”
RESPONSE 5:
There are monthly Workload and Staffing meetings with HR and Department Managers to review each department’s workload, hiring needs, job postings and departures. Additionally, in January of this year, HR met with each department manager to assess workload/staffing needs for the upcoming year.
If there are specific concerns or suggestions you have regarding recruiting, please contact your department manager or HR.
COMMENT 6:
“My firm has sent out a lot of emails about our job openings and have developed a system to identify top priority positions to be looking for qualified candidates.”
As always, if you have any suggestions, please feel free to discuss them with your manager or submit them via the virtual Suggestion Box. Thank you for providing valuable feedback to guide TPD in improving our workplace.

THE POWER OF SHARING Kerry Kalinoski
LinkedIn is a fantastic PR, marketing and recruiting tool that we are aiming to leverage more over time. You can help develop TPD’s online presence and brand recognition by interacting with our corporate LinkedIn posts (liking, sharing, commenting, etc.). To encourage post shares, as this is the best way to get our content in front of new faces, each month we will reward the TPDer with the most TPD post shares with a gift card of your choice (Amazon or Target).
Congratulations to Kerry Kalinoski for the most TPD LinkedIn post shares this month!

Evan Foster BEFORE AFTER
Congrats to this month’s 2PI winner, Evan Foster! After the installation of the HBO’s new wall wrap, Evan noticed there were some…. issues. We’re not sure how the vendor didn’t notice, but in less than 48 hours it was replaced and is now looking good!

Disability Pride Month was established in July 2015 in acknowledgement of the 25th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) being signed into law on July 26, 1990. In 2019, writer Ann Magill created the original Disability Pride flag after taking suggestions from the disabled community to ensure the colors she used were safe for folks with visually triggered disabilities and could accommodate redgreen colorblindness.
TPD CARES (formerly the DEI Committee) is looking to fill a vacancy and requests that TPD staff who may be interested in joining us submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) form. This need has come about because one of our former members dropped off the Committee for personal reasons and we want to fill the spot. This EOI form seeks to gather interest and gauge experience.
The Committee will review the candidates and make a recommendation to the Board of Directors for approval to fill the vacancy. Please reach out to the Committee at TPDCares@tpdinc.com, or individually to any Committee member, if you have questions.”
On June 17th, Chris Lincoln (left) and Andrew Kline (right) showed their support of Schuylkill River Greenways (SRG), an organization for which TPD is a sponsor, by representing TPD at their 27th annual Schuylkill River Sojourn this year! The Sojourn is a nationally recognized, week-long kayaking event on the Schuylkill River with daily paddling trips spanning from Schuylkill Haven (Schuylkill County, PA), ending in Philadelphia. The purpose of this event is not only to fundraise for this important organization, but also to connect people to the river and raise awareness for the importance of keeping our waterways clean. Chris and Andrew paddled the 16.5-mile stretch from Reading to Birdsboro as TPD’s representatives for the firm’s event sponsorship! In addition to paddling, Andrew served the paddlers some great eats (along with the rest of the Muhlenberg Lions Club).
On Thursday, June 26th, Greg Bitsko, Kevin Johnson, Rich Liput and Zach Marinelli attended the 2025 NJSPE Awards Dinner, where the Montgomery Street Bridge Rehabilitation project secured the title of Public Project of the Year! It is a great honor to be recognized among the New Jersey engineering community for our work breathing new life into Mercer County’s infrastructure. 1 4 2 5 3
Nate Zipay, Frank Falzone, Vince DeFlavia and Tyler Farley (left to right) represented TPD, bringing home the GOLD at the Annual Harry Levin/Sam Rabinowitz (Bruce Goodman’s tournament benefitting Boys Town Jerusalem) on Monday, June 30th at the Philadelphia Cricket Club. Despite thunder, delays and the event being cut short, the group won first place net (score based on performance, factoring in everyone’s handicap)! Nice work, team!
