In 2018, John Forrest, a contractor from Longridge, Preston, requested a Valtra demo, after spotting them at a local agricultural show. Originally, he was drawn to the Valtra’s modern and distinctive looks, but soon realised that the quality ran much deeper than just the Valtra’s exterior.

John and his wife Sharon own a local contracting business, Catterall and Forrest Contracting. They currently run two tractors, the Valtra T194 Versu and the T194 Direct. Predominantly, they mow, rake and hedge cut, so when looking for a tractor they needed a versatile all-rounder, which they most definitely found in the T194.

Each Valtra is bespoke, and built according to your individual specification. This meant John could add the features he needed without having to pay for unnecessary extras that he would never use. John particularly likes the interior cab features and creature comforts, right down to the integrated fridge. This has proved to be extremely useful. “Me and the team spend long days out at work. The fridge is a little luxury that makes the job that much easier, and it works unbelievably well," he added.

John picked up his phone to show us the Valtra connect app. Showing us just the basics, its full potential is market leading. For John, this is a key piece of the Valtra experience. He knows the ins and outs of his tractor without having to physically look.
