What has everyone got planned for these school holidays? We are planning some kid-time with trips to the movies, Chipmunks, and the Library, along with a day trip west to check out the Burdekin Dam to get out of town for a few hours.

This week has seen me take a hard look at Townsville Women and just how much of my time it takes to run. For this reason there is going to be a few changes happening - first thing on the chopping block is how the Events Calendar has been run til now.

Rather than spend hours collating events from 3rd party sources and adding them to the calendar myself, I'm now outsourcing this to the events organisers themselves. Events on the calendar will only be added if submitted to me. No more freebies - I simply don't have the time to do it anymore.

Who is Townsville Women?

Townsville Women was founded by Bec Townsend - an unknown with zero experience but oodles of passion. After going on Maternity Leave and realising she didn't have a support network, she set about creating one!

That was in 2015. Now here we are over 3 years later and Bec continues to share her passion, and now her network, with thousands of followers every week!

There are regular social networking events that nurture and create new friendships between women who otherwise may be feeling isolated or unable to meet new people easily.

Green Light for Independent School Enkindle Village School is a new democratic primary school opening in 2019. The school is the first of its kind in North Queensland with a vision that all children have the ability to be capable and free-thinking creators of their world when offered a voice and choice in learning.

Ladies Night with a Twist!

If you've attended a Townsville Women Ladies Night in the past year then you'll know that we do networking a little different.

Our events are open to all women to attend and we put the focus on social!

With Ice Breaker events as soon as you walk through the door, we aim to alleviate the awkwardness and anxiety that is often felt when walking into other events where you don't know anybody.

The purpose of Ladies Night is to get everyone mingling and chatting easily - without the pressure to impress! We don't have a fancy dress code and we welcome women from all walks of life who are simply looking for a fun social night out.

For our next Ladies Night event we have teamed up with one of our BossVIP members and are bringing you a Guest Presenter to kick start the evening.
