Supervisors Share Development News at Open House The Lower Providence Township Board of Supervisors hosted an Open House in April to provide residents and businesses a one-stop opportunity to hear about projects in and around the Township. A full house of almost 200 attendees heard details on current happenings and projects on the horizon.

All of the information presented at the Supervisors Open House can be viewed on the Township website, www.lowerprovidence.org.

"We wanted to update the community about projects and improvements that the Board has been working on," said Colleen Eckman, Board of Supervisors Chairwoman. The supervisors provided information on residential and commercial development, transportation planning initiatives, road paving, as well as recreation and cultural projects. Township Manager Donald Delamater outlined the positive economic impact the projects will have on the Township. The event was held in the Providence Room of Chadwick's Restaurant in Audubon. Before and after the formal presentation, attendees had the chance to view exhibits on several key projects set up around the room and visit with representatives who were on hand to answer questions. As residents, Eckman said, the supervisors share the same concerns as their neighbors. The Board has been working hard to improve Lower Providence for its residents, its tax base, and its attractiveness to new commercial and residential buyers, she said. The Board decided to hold the open house to let the community know about all the things going on as well as the strategic outlook for the Township, noted Supervisor Peter MacFarland. "We were able to make sure that they heard it right from the source, including, in many cases, the developers themselves," he said. Exhibitors taking part in the Open House included: WB Homes townhome project at Germantown Pike and River Road; Providence Place assisted living facility at the former Collegeville Inn; Westover Companies, new owner of the Audubon Village Shopping Center; Audubon Land Development, Audubon Square V new retail shops and hotel; and John James Audubon Center at Mill Grove, new art and conservation center. Also participating were McMahon Associates, Park Avenue/Crawford Road/Eagleville Road improvement project and Ridge Pike West Mobility Study; Greater Valley Forge Transportation, Route 422 Bridge; and the Lower Providence Township Police Department.
