OMG! THE SCHOOL YEAR IS FINALLY OVER! Even with the school year over Key Club still offers opportunities to its volunteers over the summer! This month there have been many fun events such as the Color Run, New York Night Nation, The Pride March and more! As I said before, even though the school year is over your volunteering opportunities aren’t! Hopefully i can see all you volunteers at the events and hopefully you guys continue in the next school year too! Time has passed and I’ve been the editor for about four months and hopefully I can keep up my work! Hope y’all have a great summer! School’s out!

We’ve officially had our last meeting of the year :( Thank you gu so much for such a great service year and for putting your tim and effort into Key Club. It truly makes me the happiest when get to volunteer and make a difference alongside all of you! O the first day of June, we made magic by bringing color to The Happiest 5k on the Planet, the Color Run! We supported the charity Stand Up To Cancer in our next event, Night Nation Ru the World’s first Running Music Festival. Lastly, we celebrated t LGBTQ community at our very first Pride March as a club. Let’ keep up the good work!

Volunteering at the Color Run w memorable experience, seeing so m of all ages pass by, with various colo their faces and clothing. Our club separated into different groups, sta parts of the course. My group was part of the race and we were instru runners with blue dye. Although it wa a few hours, I am glad to have this e looking forward to doing it aga ~ Vivian Mei

After volunteering for the first time at the Color Run this year, I can confidently say that this event is one of the best and most fun events to participate in. When we first arrived, we were given free shirts and were soon introduced to the magical, blue colored powder in large boxes. Seeing every runner’s face light up as their white shirts were taken over by blue was the best part.

The energy at this event was unreal, from the music blasting, people cheering, to colors flying. At the end, we were also able to get free snacks and drinks from the local stands. Not to mention, we had practically turned into smurfs by the end of it! It was truly an unforgettable event that everyone should attend one day! ~ Avary Kwai

New York Night Nations Run June 8, 2019 Volunteering for Night Nation Run is definitely one of my favorite events. Last year, I assisted with crowd control at the starting line, sending out runners to begin their course in waves. This year, we assisted the registration tents handing out bags, tshirts, glow sticks, and race numbers. We also gave out invitations to the after party to racers. Afterwards, we were able to join in and complete the race for ourselves. It was a lot of fun walking in the dark with all the neon lights and music stations as well as the live DJ! Despite the fact that it was in the middle of nowhere and super hard and far to get to, we got to see a beautiful sunset, dance, and experience a running music festival, hang out with our friends, and of course, volunteer, so I would definitely say that it was all worth it :) ~ Nikki Ng

The purpose of this event is to combine a music festival and a fun run at once. The people at this event are able to relax and enjoy neon lights, live DJ's, light shows, bubble zones, etc all to celebrate music as a whole.

C O O L The cool culture festival was a great combination of art and culture. It engaged the imagination of everyone that participated. It showed that art is a powerful form of self expression which allowed for everyone to overcome the boundaries between cultures, and grow together as a community. This event helped families increase their voices in their community through the use of art as expression. The event was very interesting as you can see families and kids bonding through art and bringing everyone closer as a community. ~ Dennis Frenkel

celebrate the different cultures in visit a museum and learn about extends the knowledge everyone ld around them.

The cool culture festival told many stories of culture through multiple uses of art and brought it to many communities, bringing families together and connecting them through these pieces of art. Overall, I felt this event helped many groups of people express their voice and brought equality in terms of the different cultures portrayed in these stories. It was very interesting to read these stories and see all these cultures come together in one day. ~ Heidy Mendez

Brain Tumor Walk June 9,2019

The purpose of this event was to promote the idea of Brain Tumors and allow more people to know about other health problems in the world. Even with the world advancing there are still many sicknesses that cause people to die. By allowing more people to learn about other sicknesses will probably further and improve our society.

June 2, 2019 Members: Dennis The purpose of this event is to spread the knowledge about inheritable bleeding disorders. Many people have these diseases but the world hasnt made a change to improve it yet. So this walk allows more people to learn about it.

Drums Along the Hudson June 23, 2019 Members: Isabelle, and Karan

The purpose of this event is to promote multiple cultures. A big part of this event is allowing others to learn about different cultures and know how everyone is the same. This event teaches many people different things about cultures and their importance in our society.

Among these people were multiple Key Club divisions, including Townsend Harris High School Key Club members who attended their first pride march as a team. The streets were flooded with rainbow and the subways were filled to the brim with people eager to participate in NYC Pride.

We were a part of God’s Love We Deliver, a company that brought a sense of community and fulfillment to us. With matching Michael Kors t-shirts and caps, as well as free ice cream from generous marchers, we marched along the streets for acceptance, equality, and love. ~ Kristine Kong

The pride march was a very great experience. Seeing everyone so proud and happy to be there to support the LGBTQ+ community was very heartwarming. The energy and good vibes radiated towards me and I felt proud to be there supporting everyone there.We walked through the streets of manhattan and it was very crowded, but the crowd made the pride march very inviting! ~ Suann Chen
