Hey Key Clubbies,

Can you believe that this is the 8th newsletter of the service year already? There’s only 3 more to go before I pass these along to the next Bulletin Editor. With that being said, let’s cherish these last few newsletters <3 November was filled with fall and festive events such as the Crocheron Park Clean Up, Thanksgiving Palooza, and Turkey Trot.

The Bowling Fundraiser was one of my personal favorites as we did our part in giving to charity while having fun with friends! December is looking hot right now (or actually, I should say “cold”) as we have so many fun events planned like our Ice Skating Fundraiser with Bayside High School Key Club. Thank you all for taking hours upon hours out of your days to serve our community and collectively, we are making a huge positive difference. I hope everyone dined well during Thanksgiving and I can’t wait to see more of you guys at events!

November has been eventful and full of different events! We even provid more hours in the future. We started the month off with our annual event o up Crocheron Park by removing litter and raking the leaves. The following which was extremely chill with me bowling a 200 of course :D Finally, w Palooza and the Tristate Runs Turkey Trot. Both events truly embodied the a really busy month but thankfully December is here now and that means t well since we have the ICE SKATING FUNDRAISER ON 12/12! I CAN'T WA so stay tuned :)

November has been the Holiday Break!! December is a pretty exciting month for Key Club as AIT TO BUST MY BUTT! We also hope to have a bunch of other fun events

49 HOURS Hi everyone! My name is Cindy Zou, and I am honored to be the November member of the month. As a freshman, Key Club was the first club I joined courtesy to Bulletin Editor Erica Jin. She was extremely passionate about Key Club when she talked about it, so I was inspired to give it a try myself.

It was one of the greatest decisions I had ever made because it challenged me to break out of my comfort zone and make new friends. At my first key club event, Relay for Life, none of my friends attended. It was an extremely daunting step for me, as I hadn't socialized much since the pandemic.

Even so, I had a great time scavenging for rocks around the park, learning about cancer, and participating in Zumba. As a freshman, I considered this experience to be a helpful transition from middle school to high school as it taught me how to be more at ease in social situations.

My involvement in Key Club has aided me in maturing into someone who cares about the environment and the community. Before Key Club, I had a positive outlook but didn't know how to start making changes. Key Club truly assists you in finding the opportunities where you can make a difference, whether it be something as simple as cleaning a park or as big as fighting for the rights of LGBTQ+ and women. I encourage others to join this club because of its opportunities and camaraderie. Even if you aren't particularly outgoing, you can meet like-minded people at such a large club. Key Club has an excellent community where no one feels excluded, and the cabinet works hard to ensure that this is the case. So if you are looking for a club where you can make a difference while meeting new people, then Key Club is the club for you!

Despite Light The Night being virtual yet again this year, I really enjoyed attending the live Zoom and gathering together with hundreds of people to support the Leukemia and Lymphoma society! Watching emotive videos, hearing personal stories, and even being able to interact with other viewers in real time, was a great part of Light The Night and a new experience for me altogether :) I definitely don’t regret attending, and look forward to it being in person next year!

Not only did we have so many volunteers come out to help with the event, but the effort everyone put in combined with the community helpers made this event truly special. We spent about 1 to 2 hours setting up stations so that when members of the community came for the event, we were ready!
