9:00 AM-1:00 PM Location: Danville Senior Center, Room C Instructor: Certified AARP Volunteer Instructor This course is designed for drivers 50 and older and covers normal physical changes and provides techniques to compensate for these changes. The course fosters defensive driving practices to stay alive in today’s fast highways and includes an auto insurance discount certificate. Bring a $12 check for AARP Members and a $14 check for Non-Members; made payable to AARP.

Chess for Grandparents

Chess is becoming increasing popular among young students. This is a terrific opportunity to interact and enrich your experience with your grandchildren, whether you become a teacher or a playmate. Chess is a great way to stimulate minds, young and old! Course content will include the rules of play, along with simple strategies and techniques to improve your play. By the end of the class you will be able to play and teach your grandchildren this wonderful and enriching game. All materials are provided. Fees: Resident $60; Non-Resident $72.

Conversational Chinese for Travelers Saturday, September 8-October 27

10:00 AM-11:00 AM Location: Danville Senior Center, Sr. Meeting Room Instructor: Yan Dai This class enables beginning Mandarin (Putonghua) Chinese speaking skills as a tourist would need on a vacation or business trip to a Chinese speaking country. Topics are tailored for travelers and include greetings, the weather, getting around, asking for directions and ordering food. Fees: Resident $40; NonResident $48.

Learn one of the greatest games! We will go over hand evaluation, opening bids and responses along with the basics of declarer pay and defense. No experience required. Fees: Resident $100; Non-Resident $120.
