Healing Yoga

Join Holly for a slow, gentle practice to enhance well-being and awareness through mindful movement and connection to the breath. CREATIVE PURSUITS Photography 101

Want to take better photos by expanding your camera skills and gaining confidence as a photographer? Examine the essentials of digital SLR photography including camera functions, techniques, lenses, shutter speeds, aperture control, digital recording and other aspects of digital imaging through weekly critiques in this six-week-long workshop. Additionally, basic image editing and manipulation will be covered. Adobe Photoshop 101

Become more fluent in digital file management by learning to process, organize and present your images using an effective workflow. We will start with the efficient use of Adobe Bridge to initially process Raw images, then take an in-depth look at basic tools. We will also explore more advanced usages of the marquee, zoom, move, quick select, crop, brush and erase tools within the Adobe Photoshop program. Additionally, downloading and file management techniques to store your images will be covered. Individuals are encouraged to consider taking the Digital SLR Photography 101 course for more extensive photographic learning, as there will be opportunities to work with the images generated during the photo course. Please note materials/equipment to be provided by individuals: Computer (must be portable) Adobe Photoshop with Adobe Bridge (older versions are acceptable) pre-installed on computer. New Year’s resolution to be more crafty? Want to make cool stuff to keep you warm? Learn the basics of how to cast on, knit, purl, cast off and decode patterns. It’s never too late to learn how to use computers! This course explains common computer terminology, guides you through the features of the Windows 7 operating system, the internet and web-based email. You will learn the fundamentals of file management and how to navigate your way around your desktop PC or laptop; understand how to start programs, and create, save and organize your work such as documents, emails and pictures. You will also learn what resources are available to help users. This course is designed for those with little or no computer experience and those who need basic computer skills for the workplace. Flex Class - independent, self-paced, instructor-led studies, with local instructor FlexClass is a self-directed and learner-centered high school upgrading program that offers several advantages and is a successful option for students who are ready to learn more independently. Using a personal approach to learning, instructors and educational assistants work one-on-one with students to help with questions. This learning option provides the following advantages: • Individualized instruction and additional support from educational assistants • Independent pace of learning • Orientation and course outlines with assignment due dates.
