Manycommunities build a park. Many communities build a park and incorporate history and community heritage. Mount Vernon, Ohio, is unique in that it has partnered with the Ariel-Foundation Park to envelope history, art, and functionality into a park that can endure, and be a great vehicle for the community for years to come.
Ariel-Foundation Park is built upon the original grounds of the Pittsburgh
Plate Glass factory. Its existence saw the “good, bad and ugly” of a life cycle, but through public and private collaboration, has been transformed into a variety of family recreation areas, and performance and event spaces. It is a prime example of adaptive reuse, creating a unique landscape that can be used for recreation, celebration and artistic expression by anyone throughout the region.
If you have not visited Ariel-Foundation Park yet, you are missing out! Located just south of Mount Vernon’s vibrant downtown, it features three lakes, sculpted terraces, an observation tower and many other incredible landscape elements.

“Whether you are looking for a quiet place to paddle your kayak, a unique spot for entertainment, or a stunning venue for your special event, Ariel-Foundation Park is the place to be.”
