THE LATEST
BUZZWORD
IN THE INDUSTRY IS SMALLER COWS. SMALLER COWS HAVE REDUCED ENVIRONMENTAL FOOTPRINTS, REQUIRE FEWER INPUTS, AND PRODUCE MORE BEEF PER ACRE.
It’s crucial to grasp that the cattle business is a marathon, not a sprint. To build a highly productive cowherd that produces functional, long-lasting range and herd bulls, one must fully understand the discipline and consistency of purpose of this industry.
Genetic programs require time and discipline to test. What sets the Town Creek Farm genetic program apart is its 30-year genetic proving ground. This unique advantage allows us to reach farther and move faster with our time-tested program, providing economically sustainable genetics that gives our customers a significant economic edge.
We are yet again at historically low cow numbers. This means other beef-producing countries will gain some of our export market share. We are a global cowherd producing cattle for a worldwide population. We believe that genetics for the future need to be competitive in world environments. Genetics that are sustainable here in the States should be sustainable in every corner of the world.
Town Creek Farm continues to produce cattle with greater reliability on forage, much like our global counterparts. We demand fertility, longevity, and adaption of our cattle, just like our bull customers. We are breeding increased production efficiencies like our bull customers and global cattlemen expect from their cattle. Town Creek Farm genetics are proven competitors as high-quality harvested beef that beats national averages. Volumes of data have indicated that our genetics outperform others in feed efficiency and conversion in feedlots.
With a consistent systems-based approach, we have observed outstanding results in our herd with fertile, moderate-sized cows. We have found that highly fertile cows, which conceive early and calve at the beginning of the calving season, produce the heaviest calves, regardless of the growth EPDs of their sires. Our research has demonstrated that focusing on reproductive performance leads to more pounds of calves to market and allows for the production of cost-effective, longer-lasting replacement heifers (moderate, early maturing, and fertile) and steers that excel in feed efficiency and carcass quality. Our most recent harvest results are noted on page 11.
The latest buzzword in the industry is smaller cows. Smaller cows have reduced environmental footprints, require fewer inputs and produce more beef per acre.
The entire Town Creek Farm team welcomes you and extends our gratitude.

It was a fantastic day FOR MY FAMILY AND TOWN CREEK GENETICS. I SOLD 11 STEER CALVES FOR $1750 PER HEAD. MY FRIEND SOLD 7 BLACK ANGUS SIRED STEERS OUT OF GOOD CROSSBRED COWS. HIS CALVES WERE GOOD, WEANED, 12-14 MONTHS OLD, AND AVERAGED 2 POUNDS MORE THAN MY CALVES. HIS CALVES SOLD FOR 33 CENTS PER POUND LESS THAN MINE – $219 LESS PER HEAD. THE BUYERS' OPINION IS WHAT MATTERS. IT TOOK HIM SEVERAL MONTHS MORE OF GRAZING, FEED, AND CARE TO ACHIEVE A SIMILAR WEIGHT, BUT THE QUALITY DIFFERENCE CAN’T BE OVERCOME. THANKS AGAIN FOR HELPING TO PROVIDE THE BEST GENETICS POSSIBLE AND FOR STAYING ON THE CUTTING EDGE OF THE CATTLE BUSINESS . - CP BAR, MISSISSIPPI
TOWN CREEK FARM ADVANTAGES
Quality Assurance always comes first.
Town Creek Farm takes its responsibility for its customers seriously and is committed to taking actions that safeguard and protect customer profitability. We are dedicated to producing and providing genetics that add long-term value and profitability for our customers in real-world environments.
Our main goal is to create profitability for our customers and ourselves. Town Creek Farm takes every possible measure to ensure the success of our customers and our own success.
FERTILITY - WE REFUSE TO MAKE AN EXCUSE FOR A COW
Town Creek Farm believes the most important trait to profitability in beef production is fertility.
Proving fertility begins with our heifer development. Heifers are developed on grass with supplementation as needed. At 14 to 16 months of age, heifers are synchronized and artificially inseminated, then bull bred, for 55 days. Open heifers are culled and removed from our herd.
All females must bring a calf to the weaning pens and breed back to remain in the herd. We refuse to make excuses or exceptions.
LONGEVITY
AND PRODUCTIVITY – WHOLE HERD DATA ON FEET, UDDERS
AND TEATS
Longevity of cows and bulls is influenced by several factors including feet and legs, udder and teat conformation, fertility, and fleshing ability. Every Town Creek Farm female, both registered and commercial, is individually scored for feet, udder and teat confirmation. This enables us to continually improve productivity and longevity in our cow herd and of bulls we market to cattlemen.
BULL DEVELOPMENT AND AGE OF BULLS
Town Creek Farm uniquely offers a set of full two-yearold virgin Brangus, Ultrablack, and VigorMax™ bulls, born in fall 2022. These bulls are more mature and should be able to breed more cows with their first breeding season. They are hard, muscular bulls with minimal fat cover. They can go out, work hard, and breed more females at the beginning of the breeding season compared to younger bulls.
TOWN CREEK FARM – PAGE 8
The industry is increasingly using younger bulls, which are typically developed at an accelerated rate from weanlings to yearlings. This puts tremendous stress on joints, feet, and claws, compromising soundness and longevity.
TOWN CREEK FARM EXCLUSIVE IN-HERD SELECTION INDEXES
Each bull lot lists in-herd selection indexes for Calving Ease, Growth, Fertility and Carcass. Indexes optimize selection on a number of traits in a particular productive scenario by optimally weighting adjusted phenotypic data, calving intervals, and age of first calving. Indexes represent a validation of the individual animal rankings of our bull offering and opportunities for our customers to make simple, streamlined selection of bulls.
DNA SIRE PARENT VERIFIED
All bulls in this sale have been sire parent verified through DNA. DNA confirms our artificial insemination breedings, pasture bull breedings and field notes.
GENOMIC ENHANCED EPDS
All bulls in the sale have Genomic Enhanced EPDs. DNA test results submitted on Lots 1-152 were used to enhance predictability and accuracy on EPDs for non-parent animals. Genomic-enhanced EPDs (GE-EPDs) utilize genomic test results in addition to pedigree, performance and progeny data for increased reliability of an animal’s EPD.
PERCENT BOS INDICUS CONTENT DETERMINED BY DNA PROFILER
Percent Brahman and Angus content are accurately revealed on each bull lot. Percentages are determined by genomic test results from Igenity® Indicus by Neogen. The genomic product accurately delivers the percent Bos Indicus (Brahman) in Brangus cattle. Disclosing breed percent contents allows customers to accurately know the underlying biology and breed composition and helps to ensure correct breeding decisions.
ULTRASOUND DATA
Bull lots are ultrasounded for carcass traits at around one year of age. Carcass ultrasound interpretation is rooted in research and is the highest accuracy for interpretations of carcass traits in live animals.
REGULATORY RIGOR – QUALITY ASSURANCE
Town Creek Farm has invested resources and time into disease prevention and eradication. We’ve created a rigorous management protocol for annual cowherd testing and eradication to establish a safety net for our customers. All sale bulls have tested negative for Trichomoniasis and BVD-PI within 30 days of the sale.
CERTIFIED JOHNES-FREE BULLS
Town Creek Farm aggressively tests every cow for Johnes disease. The disease is contagious, which means it can spread from one cow to another, but it is predominately passed from mother to calf through fecal matter during nursing. Clinical presentation entails rapid weight loss and diarrhea while maintaining a healthy appetite.
Beginning in 2006, every cow at Town Creek Farm has undergone testing for Johnes using both blood ELISA and fecal DNA tests at the time of weaning. The dams of bulls owned by our Bull Production Partners have tested negative for Johnes by the ELISA test. Cows that test positive by either method are removed from the herd. Additionally, freshly weaned calves of dams that test positive are also removed. The level of certainty we get from both test methods enables us to ensure absolute eradication and guarantee our sale bulls to be Johne’s free.
FREEZE BRAND FOR IDENTIFICATION
All bulls are freeze-branded with their own permanent herd identification on the left hip. Town Creek Farm holding brand is freeze branded on the left rib.
FORAGE-BASED GENETICS
Efficiency of forage utilization is a key component of profitability i.e., cattle that are grazing when other cattle are shaded up or standing in water. Town Creek Farm cattle are capable of high reproduction efficiency on a forage-based system in hot and humid climates. Maximizing grazing time is a key to profitability.
FESCUE TOLERANT GENETICS
Brangus cattle are carriers of Brahman genes that deliver relief to heat stress caused by grazing fescue. Brahman influence in cattle supplies an internal cooling mechanism that dissipates heat produced by fescue toxins better than any other breed of cattle.
30 YEARS OF RELENTLESS INNOVATION
TOWN CREEK FARM CONTINUES TO INNOVATE AND MAXIMIZE TECHNOLOGY AND PRACTICAL APPLICATIONS.
COMMITTED TO PRODUCING GENETICS THAT ADD LONG-TERM VALUE AND PROFITABILITY FOR OUR CUSTOMERS
Over a decade ago, Town Creek Farm launched our ambitious "Breeding Up to Brangus" project to create new first-generation 3/8-5/8 Brangus genetics. This initiative involved a robust strategy of breeding up from the foundation stock of Brahman and Angus to fulfill the critical need for the long-term sustainability of the Brangus breed.
We have identified first-generation bull lots in our catalog. These bulls can provide our customers with elevated levels of retained heterosis, heat tolerance, and longevity. Extensive research has proven that firstgeneration females, or females sired by first and secondgeneration bulls, exhibit unparalleled reproductive efficiency and enhanced longevity.
We have successfully weaned three sets of fall and spring-born first-generation Brangus calves out of Angus dams and sired by Three-Quarter blood sires and calves from Three-Quarter blood dams mated with Angus sires. Both matings have yielded the sought-after first-generation 3/8-5/8 Brangus calves.
We firmly believe that innovation is non-negotiable to deliver unparalleled value to our customers. Our first-generation project stands as a testament to our unwavering commitment. This commitment to innovation reassures our customers about the future of the Brangus breed.
BULL OFFERING SELECTION TOOL TO ACCURATELY DETERMINE PERCENT BOS INDICUS IN BRANGUS
In 2018, Town Creek Farm proposed the idea of identifying the percentage of Bos Indicus in Brangus cattle to Neogen. Subsequently, Neogen partnered with the University of Florida to develop a DNA product for this purpose, resulting in the creation of Igenity® Indicus. This product provides information about the Bos Taurus and Bos Indicus influence in cattle, making it a unique genomic tool for indicus-influenced cattle. By summing to 100 percent, the results can assist commercial producers in selecting replacement heifers to maintain the appropriate breed makeup for their environment.
Town Creek Farm became the first breeder to receive Bos Indicus percentages created with Igenity® Indicus from Neogen. All bulls in our 2024 sale offering reveal the percentage of Brahman and Angus of each bull. The Town Creek Farm team continues to explore ways to support commercial cattlemen in bull selection and profitability. We believe that understanding the breed composition percentages is a powerful tool for commercial cattlemen to enhance their herds and profitability.
2023 BULL SALE BREAKDOWN
GABRIEL A. ZAYAS, PHD STUDENT IN QUANTITATIVE GENETICS AND GENOMICS AT THE UNIVERSITY OF FLORIDA, WITH MILTON SUNDBECK.
THE UNIVERSITY OF FLORIDA AND TOWN CREEK FARM CONTINUE QUEST TO ESTIMATE HETEROSIS
Dr. Raluca Mateescu and her team at the University of Florida are conducting research to develop statistical methods for estimating the level of heterosis in Brangus cattle or crosses of Angus and Brahman cattle. The research project is being funded by Town Creek Farm.
Joy Reznicek of Town Creek Farm emphasizes the importance of the project, stating, “We’ve known for some time that Brangus cattle in generations closer to the parent breeds (Angus and Brahman) exhibit more heterosis than multi-generation Brangus, especially on the maternal side. First- and second-generation Brangus cows produce heavier calves than their multigenerational counterparts, illustrating the heterosis effect.”
Dr. Mateescu and her team will use genotypic data from first generation Brangus animals to estimate the heterosis present in these animals, representing the maximum heterosis achievable in Brangus cattle. Additionally, they will analyze genotypic data from Brangus animals that are two or more generations removed from the first generation to determine the loss of heterosis compared to the initial first generation.
The scientists will also utilize information about the breed of origin to identify animals with the highest proportion of breed complementarity in specific regions of the genome contributing to heterosis.
Results that Matter
OUR COMMITMENT EXTENDS BEYOND BREEDING PASTURES AND BULL DEVELOPMENT. FROM BIRTH TO HARVEST, BEEF PRODUCTION REQUIRES GENETIC DECISIONS THAT ALIGN WITH BOTH OUR ENVIRONMENT AND CONSUMER PREFERENCES. OUR DECADES OF BREEDING PRINCIPLES AND DISCIPLINE CREATE GENETIC VALUE IN PRODUCING REPLACEMENTS AND EQUALLY VALUABLE STEER MATES.
THESE STEERS ARE THE CONTEMPORARY MATES (CALVES THAT WERE NOT SELECTED AS BULLS) TO THE TWO-YEAR-OLD BULLS IN OUR SALE.

Who Gets to Be Mothers of Town Creek Farm Bulls?
UNLEASH THE POWER OF TOWN CREEK FARM BULLS
Rarely do we discuss cow herds as the most significant factor in producing consistent, predictable bulls. We are 100% confident that few other Brahman-influenced seedstock suppliers have placed as much selection pressure on refining maternal and production traits in a cow herd as Town Creek Farm. The true power of bulls that our customers buy is driven by the genetic ability, production, and economic performance of cows that produce them.
Sound feet and leg structure are absolutes in our herd. An animal’s four legs are the locomotion that allows her to perform their daily activities. Structural soundness and mobility are crucial for cows to travel pastures for nutrition, water and breeding, and longevity in the herd. Feet are scored annually on yearling heifers and cows. Unsound cows are removed from our herd – no exceptions.
Our cows must have good udder suspensions, adequate milk, and be a good and protective mother to remain in the herd. A cow’s milk delivery system is one of the most important functional traits of a cow. Teat and udder conformation scores are recorded on every cow and heifer at calving. Cows are scored for teat and udder quality at calving and weaning.
Cow docility and behavior shape our herd. Disruptive cows leave the ranch. Bad dispositions are either genetic, learned from the herd, or evolved from mismanagement. We can control all three of these.
Every cow that is open is removed from our herd. You’ll be surprised how uniform and consistent your cowherd will become by culling open cows. Cows that survive the test of bringing a calf to the weaning pens every year are cows that fit and thrive in your environment. Fertility cannot be treated as a secondary trait specifically if you are supplying breeding animals to customers. Our cows never have a chance NOT to be in production. When a female does not breed, no other trait matters.
Dry cows are culled from the herd. They are not the same as an open cow. A dry cow was palpated pregnant, but later lost her calf either before or during calving season. These expensive freeloaders do not stay in our system.
Every cow that becomes a dam of a sale bull has tested negative for Johnes. Any positive cows and their calves have been removed from our herd.
THESE COWS ARE THE MOTHERS OF OUR BULLS.

The heifers are ranch-raised and/or source-verified, uniform, and genetically tracked to Town Creek Farm dams, and they are bred to Town Creek Farm bulls. Sale heifers are black (white is acceptable on udder), and while there is a high likelihood that they will have black calves, there are no guarantees regarding calf color.
The heifers will be available for viewing at the Town Creek Farm Sale Pavilion from Thursday to Saturday, October 17-19, 2024. Heifers will be sold on video in groups of five (±) by the consignor, and the video will show the groups in which they sell. Upon purchasing a pen of heifers, the buyer has the option to purchase the following two pens of heifers in the sale order at the established price, provided

condition year-round. From weaning until sold, our heifers get a little feed daily so they come when called. Mississippi State’s vet school ambulatory service comes out to our ranch about 10 times a year for herd health checks and guidance on vaccines. Megehee’s concentrate on BVD, PI3, BRSV and five-way Lepto.

10-YEAR CONSIGNOR
Brangus Heifers represent 15 generations of Town Creek Farm and Cow Creek Ranch genetics. Heifers were A.I.’d to TCF Integrity 4861F7 and TCF Sleep Easy 241K22. Clean up service by full sibs TCF Sleep Easy 241K10, 241K11, 241K20, 241K21, and TCF Integrity 4861K11. Heifers will calve from November 25, 2024 to January 23, 2025
Comments: Longino Ranch is a large ranch located in Southwest Florida along the eastern border of Sarasota County lying due north of Charlotte Harbor. The ranch is about 50% improved pasture with the remaining 50% in native flat woods, hammocks, and wetlands. A very tough environment. Cattle are managed on horseback mostly but will come to a side-by-side, tractor, or pickup.
Over the last 20 years we have stacked Cow Creek Ranch and Town Creek Farms genetics into our cow herd to make a cow that is efficient. She will eat a low-quality forage, keep a body score of five or better and reproduce each year while raising a calf on her side that will compete with most any other calf in the feedyard.
These heifers are right out of the top of our heifer replacements. Heifers are bred at 12 to 14 months of age,
where we get between 55% to 60% bred by AI. To say that they are highly fertile would be an understatement. This set of heifers should fit anyone’s outfit. These heifers have small swallowfork ear notches for each set of vaccinations while on the ranch.

Comments: Forage-raised and top genetics heifers. These heifers have been nurtured on irrigated forage, ensuring robust health and growth. They are adaptable to being worked on foot, horseback, or ATV. With Town Creek’s elite bulls as sires, these bucket-broke heifers offer superior genetic traits.

Comments: Fall, born and bred, heifers from 100% Town Creek Farm genetics raised using the same herd health protocol as Town Creek Farm. Heifers are docile and hand fed daily while our daughter walks the bunks. Heifers are bucket broke and worked with horses and dogs. This is the stoutest set of heifers we’ve offered and we are proud of their performance. These girls have strong maternal qualities and will make a great addition to any herd.

BULL DEVELOPMENT
TOWN CREEK FARM BULL DEVELOPMENT
Town Creek Farm (TCF) bulls begin reproductive and physiological development after weaning. From weaning to yearling, bulls are sorted by weight to ensure that they receive a fair amount of feed at the feed bunks and for every bull to compete on an equal level. Bulls are kept in 40 to 50-acre traps with summer and winter grazing, with 25 to 35 bulls in each trap to maintain consistent grazing habits. This environment promotes rumen function, long-term feet and leg soundness, longevity, and steady weight gain.
The TCF bulls are raised on a limited-intake diet, primarily consisting of forage-based, high roughage, and low-energy rations. These rations are made up of 36 to 40 percent haylage (007 Bermuda grass grown and ensiled at Town Creek Farm), and 40 to 45 percent wet brewers grain. The remaining portion of the diet is made up of commodities and by-products. The bulls' feed intake is closely monitored to ensure they maintain their grazing habits. Nutritionist Dr. Chris Forcherio from Medina, Tennessee oversees the feed rations and intakes.
After collecting yearling ultrasound data, the bulls are transitioned from a development ration (12.5% corn) to a maintenance ration (no corn). We then sort bulls by frame size, and their development is closely observed and monitored. Within 30 days of sale date, Dr. Mike Pallone performs a semen evaluation including scrotal measurements and semen sample collection and scores motility and morphology of semen. Bulls are tested for Trichomoniasis and BVD-PI. Dams of the bulls selling have tested negative for Johnes.
Developing bulls is a continuous monitoring process that requires making multiple ration adjustments throughout their development. Our main objective is to raise bulls that can fully express their genetic and reproductive potential, contribute to genetic progress for our customers, and have enduring longevity in breeding pastures.
Our bulls are bred to go out, work hard, and breed as many females as possible. We recommend keeping replacement heifers sired by Town Creek Farm bulls to take advantage of their proven fertility and maternal traits. Cattlemen can make significant genetic progress using Town Creek Farm bulls.
Bull dispositions and temperaments are a top priority at Town Creek Farm. We cultivate and manage the bulls' behavior to ensure they are user-friendly for our customers. Our bull handling and management practices include gathering and treating them on horseback, regularly walking among the bulls on foot, and some ATV activity.
THANK YOU
BULL PRODUCTION PARTNERS
Our Bull Production Partners (BPP) are an important part of our bull program and the future of Town Creek Farm. Each partner breeds and produces Town Creek Farm genetics on their respective ranch. The program is a finely tuned collaboration of genetics and management. Bull calves accepted to the program are co-mingled with Town Creek Farm bulls after weaning

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Except for those stated in the below Terms and Conditions, there are no warranties, either expressed or implied, as to the merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose with respect to the cattle being sold at this auction.
The warranties and guarantees set forth in the "Terms and Conditions" are in lieu of all other warranties, either expressed or implied, and the remedies provided therein shall be the sole and exclusive remedy of the buyer, or any party through the buyer, for any breach of warranty or guarantee therein provided, and all other obligations or liabilities.
TERMS OF SALE: Cash, personal or company checks are accepted only unless arrangements have been made with Town Creek Farm prior to the sale.
BIDDING: Each animal will be sold to the highest bidder without reserve. The person in charge will settle any disputes as to bids, and his decision on such matters shall be final.
PURCHASER'S RISK: Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser as soon as sold, but it shall be the obligation of the seller to see that animals are fed and cared for until the animal is picked up by the buyer after the sale in a timely manner.
CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRY: A transferred certificate of registry will be furnished to the purchaser for each animal, except those marked as commercial bulls and heifers, at no cost to the buyer within 60 days after settlement. Certificates will be issued by the International Brangus Breeders Association.
HERD HEALTH: Our herd health plan is designed to run smoothly and to protect investments of time, money and energy, culminating ultimately into the final product, the calf. Calves are protected from birth by maternal immunization against E. Coli, rota-virus, and coronavirus scours transferred in the dam's colostrum. Young calves are immunized with 7-way Clostridium, 5way Lepto, IBR, BVD, P13, BRSV, Hemophilus Sommons and Brucella vaccines. Breeding age and mature cattle are immunized twice a year as above on a schedule that includes deworming with the addition of Vibriosis immunization.
HEALTH CERTIFICATES: Health certificates for interstate shipment will be provided at the conclusion of the sale.
ANNOUNCEMENTS: Except with respect to any provisions relating to warranties, rights, remedies, releases, and indemnifications, any changes from information of any kind in this catalog will be announced from the auction box and such announcements shall take precedence.
BREEDING GUARANTEE: Our first goal is to make you a satisfied customer. We guarantee all breeding bulls sold in this sale to be fertile to the best of our knowledge. If a bull proves to be functionally infertile within 6 months (180 days) of the sale, we will replace the bull with one of equal value or issue a credit to be used in our next sale for the purchase price less the salvage value of the original bull purchase. Town Creek Farm has the right to prove the bull is reproductively sound. This guarantee does not cover injury or disease, nor does it cover negligence on the part of the owner. Bull weights are recorded on Breeding Soundness Exams performed within 30 days of the sale. Bulls losing more than 20 percent of their body weight will be excluded from the
guarantee. Returns or refunds will be paid in the form of a credit to use toward the purchase of another bull. This is not a life insurance policy. We will not replace a dead animal if it dies for any reason. We recommend that normal care and good herd health practices be exercised with these animals. Bulls are athletes and need proper nutritional requirements. Suggested ways to maintain your bull purchase will be issued to buyers at settlement following the sale.
COMMERCIAL BRED HEIFERS:
Any female is considered a breeder if she is pregnant at the time of sale. Commercial bred heifers have been certified safe in calf by a veterinarian or ultrasound technician within 30 days of sale (certification is mailed to buyers after completion of sale). Pregnant heifers are considered breeders without further guarantee.
IDENTIFICATION:
1. Seller offers each bull with a brand of TC on its left side for all lots bearing the prefix TCF.
2. Buyer agrees to check brands for accuracy.
3. In those cases where a nickname is used, it shall be accompanied by the official registered name and number of the animal.
OPTIONS AND PRIVILEGES FOR RETURN OR ADJUSTMENT:
1. All claims for adjustment or credit must be made in writing either within six months of the sale date or no later than six months after the animal reaches 18 months of age with the exception of claims involving dwarfs or misrepresentation of service sire.
2. In the event an animal is claimed to be a non-breeder within 6 months of purchase (first breeding season), the animal may be returned to the ranch of the seller if in good condition and complying with the health requirements of the seller's state. The seller shall be entitled to a six month trial following the return of the animal in which to prove that the animal is a breeder. If at the end of six months, the seller is unable to prove the animal is a breeder, the seller shall, at the option of the buyer, replace the animal with another of equal value or receive credit for the purchase price, less salvage, in the next Town Creek Farm sale. Either option shall, in any case, be deemed full satisfaction and settlement. Any expense incurred for transporting an animal claimed to be a non-breeder shall be the responsibility of the purchaser, except that the seller shall be responsible for transportation costs in excess of the distance between the purchaser's farm and the location where the sale took place. If the seller proves the animal to be a breeder, it shall be the obligation of the purchaser to take delivery of the animal and pay all expenses incurred for transportation.
RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS:
1. The above terms and conditions of sale shall constitute a contract between the buyer and seller of each animal and shall be equally binding upon both. Each sale or resale of an animal constitutes a separate transaction.
2. All persons who attend the sale do so at their own risk. Neither the owners nor any other persons connected with the sale assume any liability, legal or otherwise.

Destruction of Hypoderma larvae (cattle grubs) at the period when these grubs are in vital areas may cause undesirable host-parasite reactions including the possibility of fatalities. Killing H. lineatum when it is in the tissue surrounding the gullet may cause bloat; killing H. bovis when it is in the vertebral canal may cause staggering or paralysis. These reactions are not specific to treatment with VALCOR™ and can occur with any successful treatment of grubs. Cattle should be treated either before or after these stages of grub development. Consult your veterinarian concerning the proper time for treatment. Follow recommended dosage carefully. Reproductive safety has not been evaluated in bulls intended for breeding.
ADVERSE REACTIONS:
This product is likely to cause swelling at the injection site. Tissue damage at the injection site may also occur, including possible granulomas and necrosis. These reactions have resolved without treatment. Local tissue reaction may result in trim loss of edible tissue at slaughter. A single death attributed to clostridial infection associated with the injection of VALCOR™ was reported in a nonpivotal effectiveness study. Observe cattle for injection site reactions. If injection site reactions are suspected, consult your veterinarian. This product is not for intravenous or intramuscular use. Hypersalivation may be observed; however, this reaction will disappear within a few hours. If this condition persists, a veterinarian should be consulted.
Contact Information:
Contact Zoetis Inc. at 1-888-963-8471 or www.zoetis.com. To report suspected adverse drug experiences, contact Zoetis Inc. at 1-888-963-8471. For additional information about reporting adverse drug experiences for animal drugs, contact FDA at 1-888-FDA-VETS or http://www.fda.gov/reportanimalae.
TARGET ANIMAL SAFETY:
Margin of Safety: Subcutaneous administration of VALCOR™ was well tolerated in calves as young as 3 months of age at 1, 2, or 3 times the recommended dose. Dose-dependent post-dose hypersalivation was seen in all treated groups compared to the controls. All cases of hypersalivation were mild, transient, and resolved without further medical intervention. Dose-related injection site reactions were observed, and those in the 1X group resolved between 21 and 28 days post injection. Injection site reactions were primarily swelling which resolved between 21 and 28 days post injection. Findings from the injection sites included swelling, edema, inflammation, muscle necrosis and fibrosis.
Female Reproductive Safety: The reproductive safety of VALCOR™ was established in two studies with female cattle. First, a single dose of VALCOR™ was administered subcutaneously at 3 times the recommended dose at times coinciding with folliculogenesis, implantation, or organogenesis, and had no effects on conception, calving, abortion, and stillbirth rates, and post-natal viability up to 30±2 days post-calving. There were no congenital abnormalities. The only test article-related change was an increase in incidence and duration of swelling at injection sites compared with control, but all swellings eventually resolved. In a second study, a single dose of VALCOR™ administered subcutaneously at 3 times the recommended dose at either early or late gestation had no effects on calving, abortion, and stillbirth rates, and post-natal viability up to 30±2 days post-calving. One control calf and two treated calves were born with congenital abnormalities and did not survive. These were not determined to be test article-related. The only test article-related change was an increase in incidence and duration of swelling at injection sites, but all swellings eventually resolved. Not for use in bulls intended for breeding over 1 year of age, as reproductive safety has not been evaluated.
