Welcome to Stantonbury School
I feel incredibly privileged to be working with an amazing group of adults and children who are striving together to ensure that every child can recognise their full potential. It is important for me that children are happy and secure in their learning. Education is a lifelong journey, and it is our role to guide our young people through that journey –avoiding the potholes, planning the route for the future, and knowing when it is time to speed up or slow down. Sometimes the messages are difficult, and it is important that we all understand the goal for all our children is to leave Stantonbury School with the academic and social skills to be successful in whatever path they take in adult life.
In this prospectus we hope to give you a flavour of what Stantonbury could offer your child. We encourage prospective parents to visit the school; you will be made very welcome.

Teaching & learning
Providing high quality teaching and opportunities for learning is the top priority at Stantonbury School.
Our broad curriculum means that students have access to a full range of academic and practical subjects. As we are a large school we have a full range of specialist teachers who have access to amazing specialist facilities. Students are taught in various groupings to ensure the best opportunities for learning. In some subjects this means that students are in ability sets and in others in mixed ability classes.

Support
There are a wide range of support mechanisms at Stantonbury School to help students succeed.
Our excellent careers and advice provision helps students progress to the next stage of their education and training and we are proud of their destinations when they have left Stantonbury. We are fortunate to have an amazing team of professionals who provide specific interventions and support for those students need it. We have a student welfare manager who coordinates the work of the counsellors, youth workers, the mental health team and pastoral mentors so that we can support your child during their journey through secondary school.

Our dedicated Special Education Needs team work with a range of students who have additional needs.
This highly qualified and experienced team will work with parents to ensure that your child’s needs are met and to ensure that they transition well from Primary School. The team have a wonderful resource base where we offer small group work and other interventions.

Facilities
Few schools can offer the range of facilities that are available at Stantonbury.
Sports facilities include a swimming pool, athletics track, 4g Astro Turf pitch, gym, 2 sports halls and outdoor courts. We also have a 250 seat professional theatre and dance and drama studios. There is a fully equipped music recording studio and practice rooms. In January 2022 our new teaching block opens which will offer 13 science laboratories, art studios, design technology suites and general classrooms.
