About SIU’s Touch of Nature SIU’s Touch of Nature is located in 3,100 acres of picturesque forest on the shores of Little Grassy Lake.

It is adjacent to Giant City State Park, the Crab Orchard National Wildlife Refuge and the Shawnee National Forest. The famed River-to-River Trail crosses its southernmost border.

Lodging at Touch of Nature

Little Grassy Lodge

Rooms: 18 Maximum guests: 36 Little Grassy Lodge is the hotel-style lodge at Touch of Nature. The rooms all have private bathrooms, air conditioning/heat, flat-screen TV with satellite, a four-cup coffee maker, mini-fridge and Wi-Fi. The Friends Room is located in Little Grassy Lodge. With a maximum capacity of 180, it is ideal for banquets, lectures and meetings.

All Camp 1 cabins are bunk-house style buildings with heat/AC, and include adjacent shower houses with bathrooms and shower facilities.

Camp 2 Cabins

All Camp 2 cabins are bunk-house style buildings, and include adjacent shower houses with bathrooms and shower facilities.

All three lodges are located in Camp 2, and include large lounge areas and shared bathrooms for the bunk rooms. LB Sharp and Shawnee Lodges have both indoor and outdoor fireplaces and include a “leader room� with two twin beds with a private bathroom.

General Pricing Policies Room fees are based on 3 p.m. check-in and 11:30 a.m. check-out.

Little Grassy rooms receive a 10 percent refund if canceled at least 48 hours before check in. If bunk-style lodges and cabins are canceled within 31 to 60 days notice, only the 25 percent deposit is due. For 15 to 30 days’ notice on cancellations, a 50 percent room rental will be charged. All rooms will incur full room rental charges if canceled less than two weeks before a scheduled event.
