JAMES 3:1-12
Not many of you should become teachers, my fellow believers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly. We all stumble in many ways. Anyone who is never at fault in what they say is perfect, able to keep their whole body in check.
When we put bits into the mouths of horses to make them obey us, we can turn the whole animal. Or take ships as an example. Although they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are steered by a very small rudder wherever the pilot wants to go. Likewise, the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark. The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole body, sets the whole courseofone’s life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell.
All kinds of animals, birds, reptiles and sea creatures are being tamed and have been tamed by mankind, but no human being can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison.
With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse human beings, who have been made in God’s likeness. Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers and sisters, this should not be. Can both fresh water and salt water flow from the same spring? My brothers and sisters, can a fig tree bear olive, or a grapevine bear fig? Neither can a salt spring produce fresh water.
JOHN 1:1-17
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome a it.
There was a man sent from God whose name was John. He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all might believe. He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light. The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world. He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God children born notofnaturaldescent, nor ofhumandecisionorahusband’swill, but born of God.
The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
(John testified concerning him. He cried out, saying, “This is the one I spokeaboutwhenIsaid,‘Hewhocomesaftermehassurpassedmebecause he was before me.’”) Out of his fullness we have all received grace in place of grace already given. For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.
NEW SUNDAY AND EASTERTIDE
The Sunday following Easter is known as "New Sunday or Gergnazadig". Its purpose is to emphasize the wondrous Resurrection of our Lord, with only minor variables in the hour’s services.
The 50 days from Easter to the Sunday of Pentecost is called Eastertide (Hinounk). This entire period is dedicated solely to the mystery of the Resurrected Savior's encounters with His Apostles and followers during

that period. Originally, during these fifty days, according to the church traditions, the faithful did not fast. But starting from XII century, from the 40th day of Hinunk, the Feast of the Ascension, the regular fasting on Wednesdays and Fridays was observed.
Just like before Easter we have 50 days of mourning a preparation period of Great Lent, the church also established this 50-day period after Easter, to celebrate the glorious Resurrection of Christ.
Each Sunday of Eastertide has a specific name as well: New Sunday (first Sunday after Easter), Green Sunday (second Sunday after Easter), Red Sunday (third Sunday after Easter), Apparition of the Holy Cross (fourth Sunday after Easter), Ascension falls on Thursday, Second Palm Sunday (sixth Sunday after Easter) - (Sixth, Pentecost (seventh Sunday after Easter).
