ԿՈՐՆԹԱՑԻՆԵՐՈՒՆ ՈՒՂՂՈՒԱԾ ԵՐԿՐՈՐԴ ՆԱՄԱԿԷՆ 13.5-13 Փորձեցէ՛ք դուք ձեզ՝ թէ հաւատքին մէ՛ջն էք. քննեցէ՛ք դուք ձեզ: Չէ՞ք գիտեր դուք ձեզմէ՝ թէ Յիսուս Քրիստոս ձեր մէջն է, եթէ խոտելի չըլլաք: Բայց կը յուսամ թէ պիտի գիտնաք՝ թէ մենք խոտելի չենք: Կ՚աղօթեմ Աստուծոյ՝ որ դուք ո՛չ մէկ չարիք ընէք. ո՛չ թէ՝ որպէսզի մենք գնահատելի երեւինք, հապա՝ որպէսզի դուք ընէք ինչ որ պարկեշտ է, թէեւ մենք խոտելի թուինք: Որովհետեւ ճշմարտութեան դէմ ոչինչ կրնանք ընել, հապա՝ ճշմարտութեան համար: Քանի որ կ՚ուրախանանք՝ երբ մենք տկար ենք, իսկ դուք՝ զօրաւոր էք. սա՛ կ՚ըղձանք նաեւ - ձեր կատարելութիւնը: Ուստի կը գրեմ ձեզի այս բաները՝ բացակայ ըլլալով, որպէսզի երբ ներկայ ըլլամ՝ սաստկութեամբ չվարուիմ այն իրաւասութեան համեմատ, որ Տէրը տուաւ ինծի՝ շինելու, եւ ո՛չ թէ քանդելու համար: Վերջապէս, եղբայրնե՛ր, ո՛ղջ եղէք: Կատարեա՛լ եղէք, լա՛ւ մխիթարուեցէք, միաբա՛ն եղէք, խաղաղութեա՛մբ ապրեցէք. եւ սիրոյ ու խաղաղութեան Աստուածը ձեզի հետ պիտի ըլլայ: Բարեւեցէ՛ք զիրար սուրբ համբոյրով. բոլոր սուրբերը կը բարեւեն ձեզ: Տէր Յիսուս Քրիստոսի շնորհքը, Աստուծոյ սէրը եւ Սուրբ Հոգիին հաղորդութիւնը ձեր բոլորին հետ: Ամէն:

ՄԱՐԿՈՍԻ ԱՒԵՏԱՐԱՆԷՆ 11.27-33 Դարձեալ եկան Երուսաղէմ: Երբ կը քալէր տաճարին մէջ, քահանայապետները, դպիրներն ու երէցները եկան անոր, եւ ըսին. «Ի՞նչ իշխանութեամբ կ՚ընես այդ բաները. ո՞վ տուաւ քեզի այդ իշխանութիւնը՝ որ ընես այդ բաները»: Յիսուս պատասխանեց անոնց. «Ես ալ ձեզի՛ հարցնեմ բան մը. պատասխանեցէ՛ք ինծի, ու ես պիտի ըսեմ ձեզի թէ ի՛նչ իշխանութեամբ կ՚ընեմ այդ բաները: “Յովհաննէսի մկրտութիւնը երկինքէ՞ն էր՝ թէ մարդոցմէ”: Պատասխանեցէ՛ք ինծի»: Անոնք կը մտածէին իրենց մէջ՝ ըսելով. «Եթէ պատասխանենք. “Երկինքէն”, պիտի ըսէ. “Հապա ինչո՞ւ չհաւատացիք անոր”: Իսկ եթէ պատասխանենք. “Մարդոցմէ” », կը վախնային ժողովուրդէն, որովհետեւ բոլորը ի՛րապէս մարգարէ կը նկատէին՝՝ 3

Յովհաննէսը: Ուստի պատասխանեցին Յիսուսի. «Չենք գիտեր»: Յիսուս ալ պատասխանեց անոնց. «Ես ալ չեմ ըսեր ձեզի թէ ի՛նչ իշխանութեամբ կ՚ընեմ այդ բաները»:

CORINTHIANS 13:5-13 Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you—unless, of course, you fail the test? And I trust that you will discover that we have not failed the test. Now we pray to God that you will not do anything wrong—not so that people will see that we have stood the test but so that you will do what is right even though we may seem to have failed. For we cannot do anything against the truth, but only for the truth. We are glad whenever we are weak but you are strong; and our prayer is that you may be fully restored. This is why I write these things when I am absent, that when I come I may not have to be harsh in my use of authority—the authority the Lord gave me for building you up, not for tearing you down.

Finally, brothers and sisters, rejoice! Strive for full restoration, encourage one another, be of one mind, live in peace. And the God of love and peace will be with you.

Greet one another with a holy kiss. All God’s people here send their greetings.

MARK 11:27-33 They arrived again in Jerusalem, and while Jesus was walking in the temple courts, the chief priests, the teachers of the law and the elders came to him. “By what authority are you doing these things?” they asked.

“And who gave you authority to do this?”

Jesus replied, “I will ask you one question. Answer me, and I will tell you by what authority I am doing these things. John’s baptism—was it from heaven, or of human origin? Tell me!”

They discussed it among themselves and said, “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ he will ask, ‘Then why didn’t you believe him?’ But if we say, ‘Of human origin’ . . .” (They feared the people, for everyone held that John really was a prophet.)

So they answered Jesus, “We don’t know.”

Jesus said, “Neither will I tell you by what authority I am doing these things.”ls in heaven, nor the Son, f but only the Father.

Թարգմանչանց յիշատակը՝ «Տօն Սրբոց Թարգմանչացն մերոց վարդապետաց Մեսրոպ Մաշտոցի, Եղիշէի, Մովսէս Քերթողի, Դաւիթ Անյաղթ փիլիսոփայի, Գրիգոր Նարեկացիի և Ներսէս Կլայեցիի (Շնորհալի)»: Ս. Թարգմանիչներու շնորհիւ նախ Աստուածաշունչ մատեանը հայերէնի թարգմանուեցաւ, եւ սոյն թարգմանութիւնը այնքան կատարեալ էր, որ Ֆրանսացի գիտնական Լա Քրոզը զայն կոչած է «Թարգմանութիւններու Թագուհի»: Առաջին նախադասութիւնը, որ թարգմանուած է հայերէն եւ գրուած աստուածատուր նորաստեղծ հայոց տառերով՝ Սողոմոն Իմաստունի «Գիրք Առակաց»-էն էր. «ՃԱՆԱՉԵԼ ԶԻՄԱՍՏՈՒԹԻՒՆ ԵՒ ԶԽՐԱՏ, ԻՄԱՆԱԼ ԶԲԱՆՍ ՀԱՆՃԱՐՈՅ»: Ս. Գրքի թարգմանութեան յաջորդեցին Եկեղեցւոյ Ս. Հայրերու եւ օտար հեղինակներու զանազան աշխատութիւններու հայերէն թարգմանութիւնները, որոնցմէ շատերու բնօրինակները այսօր կորստեան մատնուած են եւ անոնց հայերէն թարգմանութիւնները բնագրի արժէք ունին: Հայ Գիրերու գիւտով եւ Աստուածաշունչի հայերէն թարգմանութեամբ Հայ եկեղեցին Յունական ազդեցութենէ փրկուեցաւ, քըրիստոնէական գիրքերը հայերէնի թարգմանուեցան, եկեղեցական ծէսերը հայկականացուեցան եւ հայ դպրոցներ 5

THE FEAST OF HOLY TRANSLATORS On October 10, the Armenian Church commemorates the Feast of the Holy Translators St. Mesrob Mashtots, Yeghishe, Moses of Khoronk, philosopher Davit Anhaght, St. Gregory of Narek and St. Nerses the

Gracious. These are the fathers of the Armenian Church, who, after the creation of the Armenian alphabet, started the translation of the Holy Bible, religious and other texts from Greek and Assyrian sources into Armenian, and some have created their own works.

Later their translation of the Holy Bible was named the "Queen of Versions". The first verse translated and written in Armenian was from the Book of Proverbs of the Old Testament: “To know wisdom and instruction; to perceive the words of understanding…….”.

The creation of the Armenian Alphabet generated the translations of many religious philosophical and scientific books and literature of various authors. Some of the original books written in their native language 6

disappeared and their translated Armenian copies remain and are used as originals.

The work of Holy translators contributed to the spiritual and cultural awakening of Armenia. The schools were opened and the distinct national identity of Armenian church was shaped, free of foreign influences. It marked the beginning of the Golden Era of Armenian literature as well. The translators in the following centuries, who are commemorated during this Feast (St. Gregory of Narek and St. Nerses the Gracious), also contributed greatly to the core of Armenian church theology, through their numerous hymns, prayers, letters, philosophical thoughts and analyses.

ՍՐԲՈՑ ԹԱՐԳՄԱՆՉԱՑ ՏՕՆԸ ՕՇԱԿԱՆԻ ՄԷՋ Սրբոց Թարգմանչաց տօնի առիթով Արագածոտնի թեմի առաջնորդանիստ Սուրբ Մեսրոպ Մաշտոց եկեղեցւոյ մէջ կը մատուցուի ուխտի Սուրբ Պատարագ: Մայր աթոռի տեղեկատուական համակարգին համաձայն, նոյն օրը, աւանդութեան համաձայն Մեսրոպ Մաշտոցի անուան Մատենադարանի պահոցէն դուրս կը բերուի եւ Օշական կը տարուի երկու հարիւր տարիներէ աւելի Աշտարակի սրբութիւն հանդիսացող Շուխոնց Ս. Աւետարանը, որպէսզի ուխտաւոր հայորդիները հնարաւորութիւն ունենան հաղորդակից դառնալու հրաշագործ Աւետարանին: Շուխոնց ձեռագիր Աւետարանը գըրւած է 1669 թ. Էսֆահանի Նոր Ջուղայի Ս. Ամենափրկիչ վանքի կրօնաւոր Բարսեղի ձեռքով եւ Խոջա Մանասի պատուէրով: Ս. Գիրքը նկարազարդ է եւ ունի տասներեք մանրանկար: 1750-60 թ. Ս. Գիրքն արդէն կը գտնուէր Աշտարակ եւ կը պատկանէր Շուխեան գերդաստանին, որոնք 1873 թ. զայն նուիրաբերեցին Աշտարակի Ս. Ամենափրկիչ եկեղեցւոյն: Ս. Աւետարանը երկար տարիներ հանգրուանած է Ս. Ամենափրկիչ 7

եւ Ս. Կարմրաւոր եկեղեցիներու մէջ եւ կոչուած է Շուխոնց Աւետարան: 20-րդ դարու առաջին կէսին Աշտարակի ու շրջակայքի եկեղեցիներէն պետութեան կողմէ հաւաքուած միւս գիրքերու հետ ան տեղափոխոխուած է Մ. Մաշտոցի անուան Մատենադարան:

Ս. ՄԵՍՐՈՊ ՄԱՇՏՈՑ (362-440) Ծնած է Տարօն քաղաքի Հացեկաց գիւղին մէջ, մօտաւորապէս 362 թուականին: Շատ լաւ գիտէր յունարէն, պարսկերէն, ասորերէն, եւ վրացերէն: Եղած է Արքունիքի ատենադպիր, անցած է զինուորական ծառայութեան, իսկ 394 թ. դարձած է վանական: Աղօթքի պահուն տեսիլքով ստացած է հայերէն լեզուի հնչիւններուն լիովին համապատասխանող 36 նշանագրերու պատկերները, ու ստեղծած է Հայոց Այբուբենը:

MESROB MASHDOTZ (438 AD) St. Mesrob was born in the village of Hatzegatz in the province of Daron. He was fluent in Greek, Persian, Syriac and Georgian. He served in the Armenian Royal Court, but later, he decided to enter the ranks of the clergy. While praying, he had a divine vision, where 36 luminous characters were shown by the hand of God. Those letters represented the range of sounds in the Armenian Language. He created the Armenian Alphabet in the year 405.

Ս. ՍԱՀԱԿ ՊԱՐԹԵՒ ՀԱՅՐԱՊԵՏ (348-439) Ս. Սահակ Հայրապետը, Ներսէս Մեծ կաթողիկոսի որդին էր, Ս. Գրիգոր Լուսաւորիչ հայրապետի տան վերջին ներկայացուցիչը: Փոքր տարիքին երանաշնորհ հայրապետը, զրկուելով մայրական խնամքէն, կը փոխադրուի Տարօն և դաստիարակութիւն կը ստանայ Մամիկոնեան իշխաններու հոգածութեան ներքոյ: 387 թ. Խոսրով Գ արքայի կամքով կը նշանակուի Ամենայն Հայոց հայրապետ: Հայկական գիրերու ստեղծումէն ետք Ս. Գիրքը 8

կը թարգմանէ հայերէնի, որը կը համարուի Աստուածաշունչի թարգ-մանութիւններու թագուհին:

ST. SAHAG BARTEV (348-439) Pontiff St. Sahak Partev was the elder son of Catholicos St. Nersess the Great, and the last Catholicos of the Armenian Church who descended from the lineage of St. Gregory the Illuminator. He became Catholicos of All Armenians in 387 A.D. He was the strongest advocate for the creation of an Armenian Alphabet, and became its chief patron. Following the creation of the Armenian Alphabet, he begins the translation of the Holy Bible into Armenian and did it so perfectly, that centuries hence the Armenian Translation is called the “Queen Translation of the Breath of God”.

Ս. ԵՂԻՇԷ ՊԱՏՄԻՉ (410- 470) Հայ մեծ պատմիչ, Վարդապետ եւ աշակերտ Ս. Սահակ Պարթեւի եւ Ս. Մեսրոպ Մաշտոցի: 434-441 կ’ուսանի Աղեքսանդրիոյ մէջ ապա կը վերադառնայ Հայաստան եւ կը ծառայէ Վարդան Մամիկոնեանին, որպէս զինուոր եւ դպրապետ: Կը մասնակցի 450-451 Վարդանանց պատերազմին: Ապա կը լքէ զինուորական ասպարէզն ու աշխարհական կեանքը եւ կը դառնայ մենակեաց: Կը ճգնի Մոկաց լեռներուն մէջ եւ Տէրոջմէ կը ստանայ բժշկութեան շնորհը: Յայտնի աշխատութիւններէն են «Վարդանի եւ Հայոց Պատերազմի Մասին» եւ «Արարածոց Մեկնութիւնը»:

YEGHISHEH (410- 470) Was one of the most renowned of the students of St. Sahag and St. Mesrob and served as secretary to St. Vartan. He wrote the great history of the 'Battle of Vartanantz'. After the Battle of Avarayr in 450, he retired to the mountains. He was also graced with the power of healing.

ՄՈՎՍԷՍ ԽՈՐԵՆԱՑԻ (410-490) Հայ մեծ պատմիչ, Պատմահայր եւ Քերթողահայր, ծնած է Տարօն գաւառի Խորոնք գիւղը: Եղած է աշակերտը Ս. Մեսրոպ Մաշտոցի եւ Ս. Սահակ Պարթեւի: Ան զբաղած է թարգմանութեամբ եւ գրած է եկեղեցական տօներուն նուիրուած բազմաթիւ շարականներ: Արդէն պատկառելի տարիքին Սահակ Բագրատունիի խնդրանքով կը գրէ «Հայոց Պատմութիւն» աշխատութիւնը, որը դարձաւ մեր ժողովուրդի հին պատմութեան կարեւոր սկզբնաղբիւրը:

MOVSES OF KHORONK (410-490) The fath er of Armenian history, was also one of the important students of St. Sahag and St. Mesrob. He was born in the village of Khoronk, Daron province. He had written many works and church hymns poems, orations, and chants. At a later age, by the request of Sahag Bagradouni, he started to write his most prominent work "History of Armenia", which contains the historical facts and events starting from the beginnings of the Armenian nation till his day. ԳԻՏԷԻ՞Ր ԹԷ, Ս. Գիրքը միայն հայերը «Աստուածաշունչ» կ'անուանեն: Երբ գիրերու գիւտէն յետոյ Ս. Սահակ Պարթեւի եւ Ս. Մեսրոպ Մաշտոցի առաջնորդութեամբ Ս. Գիրքը առաջին անգամ թարգմանուեցաւ հայերէնի. Ս. Թարգմանիչները զայն «Աստուածաշունչ Մատեան» կոչեցին: Այս անունի ընտրութեան հիմքը Ս. Պօղոս առաքեալի հետեւեալ խօսքը հանդիսացաւ. «Աստուծոյ շունչով գրուած ամէն գիրք օգտակար է ուսուցման, յանդիմանութեան, ուղղելու եւ արդարութեան մեջ խրատելուն համար, որպէսզի կատարեալ ըլլայ Աստուծոյ մարդը եւ պատրաստ` բոլոր բարի գործերու համար» (Բ Տիմ. 3. 16-17): Այլ ազգերը Ս. Գիրքը կը կոչեն Բիբլիա՝ յունարէն «Տա Բիբլիա» բառէն, որ կը նշանակէ գիրքեր: Հոս գիրք բառի յոգնակին կը 10

գործածուի, քանզի թէեւ ըլլալով մէկ գիրք` Աստուածաշունչը բաղկացած է 66 առանձին գիրքերէ: DID YOU KNOW? The Bible is called 'Asdvadzashounch' (God-breathed) only in Armenian. This name was given to the Bible by Holy Translators, right after it was translated into Armenian, and was inspired by the following passage from the Bible: "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work" (2 Timothy 3:16-17) Following the invention of the Armenian alphabet, it took Sahak Bartev, Mesrop Mashtots and a group of translators more than twenty years of collective work to finish the full translation of Holy Bible.

In other languages Asdvadzashounch is called the Holy Bible. This name is derived from the Greek word 'ta biblia', meaning books. The plural form of word book was used, because even though the Holy Bible is one book, but it consists of the collection of 66 books, written by prophets, kings, apostles… Ա՜խ լեզուն. լեզուն որ չըլլայ, մարդ ինչի կը նմանի: Ազգը պահողն ու իրար հետ միացնողը անոր լեզուն է եւ հաւատքը: Եթե լեզուդ փոխես ու հաւատքդ ուրանաս, ալ ինչով կրնաս ըսել, թէ որ ազգէն ես: Ձե'զի կ'ըսեմ, հայոց նորահաս երիտասարդներ,ձեր անունին մեռնիմ, ձեր արեւուն մատա'ղ, տասը լեզու սորվեցէք, բայց ձեր լեզուն եւ հաւատքը ամու'ր պահեցէք:

Ah one's language: who would we be without it. The language and the faith are the forces, that define a nation and keep it unified. If you chose to speak in a foreign language over your mother tongue and deny your faith, how you can say which nation you belong to.

Here is my plea to our young Armenians, go ahead and learn ten languages, if you wish, but please do not forget to always keep your Armenian language and your Christian faith strong.

OUR CHURCH HAS REOPENED Dear faithful, It is with a heart full of spiritual happiness we announce that based on the decision of Mr. Doug Ford, Ontario Premier, and the blessings of H.E. Bishop Abgar Hovakimian, Primate of the Armenian Church of Canada, Holy Trinity Armenian Apostolic Church reopened its doors to the faithful on Sunday, June 14, 2020.

The church will be open for prayers and visits every: Sunday for Divine Liturgy, from 10:30 am to 1:00 pm. Live streaming will be available on the church Facebook page.

Wednesday, from 7:00 to 8:00 pm, prayers for the recovery of those who are ill. Live streaming will be available on the church Facebook page.

Monday through Friday, 9:30 am to 3:00 pm, during the church office hours, for private prayers and lighting of candles.

In order to register names for baptisms, weddings, funeral services, as well as requiem and prayers for health or to visit the church office, you are kindly advised to contact the office beforehand: Tel.: 4 16-431-3001 ext. 2 26

ATTENTION We would like to draw your attention to the following important points: According to the decision made by the Provincial authorities, we will be able to admit only a limited number of faithful, in order to be able to apply all security measures: keeping 6 feet apart. Families living in the same household will be allowed to sit together; however, each person will be counted separately in the headcount. No handshakes and hugs, please.

All those who visit the church must wear a face mask. Please bring your own to help ensure supplies last.

A designated person will record the names of the visitors and escort them to their assigned seat.

The collection tray will not be passed but rather placed in the Church lobby, where people can make their offering on their way out.

All those in high risk groups are strongly urged to stay home.

You cannot enter the Church if any of the following applies to you: 1. a family member or anybody in your immediate surrounding has any of the symptoms listed below or has tested positive for Covid-19; 2. have fever; 3. have a cough; 4. have a sore throat; 5. have loss of taste or smell; 6. traveled outside the province of Ontario APPRECIATION We extend our thanks to the deacons and the members of the church choir, who voluntarily participated in the ceremonies during these difficult times and to you, dear faithful, for your patience, prayers and your donations to support the mission of our Church.

ՈՒՇԱԴՐՈՒԹԻՒՆ Ձեր ուշադրութիւնը կ'ուզենք հրաւիրել հետեւեալ կարեւոր կէտերուն. Նահանգային կառավարութեան առած որոշումին համաձայն, առայժմ մենք արարողութիւններուն պիտի կարենանք սահմանափակ թիւով հաւատացեալներ ընդունիլ, ապահովութեան բոլոր միջոցները կիրառելու համար, 6 ոտք հեռաւորութիւն պահելով։ Ընտանիքներ, որոնք նոյն յարկին տակ կը բնակին, կրնան միասին նստիլ, բայց իւրաքանչիւր անձ իբրեւ առանձին թիւ պիտի նկատուի հաշիւին մէջ։ Ձեռնուիլ եւ փաթթուիլ պէտք չէ ըլլայ։ Բոլոր անոնք որոնք եկեղեցի կ'այցելեն, պարտին դիմակ կրել։ Հաճեցէք միշտ ձեր անձնական դիմակները հայթայթել։ Նշանակուած անձ մը ձեր անունները պիտի արձանագրէ եւ ձեր տեղերը առաջնորդէ։ Պատարագի դրամահաւաքի պնակը չպիտի դարձուի, այլ պիտի դրուի եկեղեցւոյ նախասրահի մէջ, ուր ելլած ատէն պիտի կարենաք ձեր նուէրները դնել։ Զ ԳՈՒՇԱՑՈՒՄ Բոլոր այն անձերը որոնք հիւանդանալու բարձր կարելիութիւն ունին նախընտրելի է որ տունը մնան։ Եկեղեցի չէք կրնար մտնել եթէ հետեւեալ կէտերէն որեւէ մէկը կը կիրարկուի.

1. ձեր անմիջական շրջանակին կամ ընտանիքին մէջ ոեւէ մէկը վարակուած է Գովիտ-19-ով եւ կամ ունին հետեւեալ ախտանշանները՝ 2. ջերմութիւն, 3. հազ, 4. կոկորդի ցաւ, 5. հոտառութեան կամ համի զգալի պակաս, 6. Օնթարիօ նահանգէն դուրս ճամբորդած էք։
