ՊՕՂՈՍ ԱՌԱՔ. ԿՈՐՆԹԱՑԻՆԵՐՈՒ 2-ՐԴ ՆԱՄԱԿԷՆ 6 .16-7.1 Եւ ի՞նչ համաձայնութիւն ունի Աստուծոյ տաճարը կուռքերուն հետ, որովհետեւ դուք ապրող Աստուծոյ տաճարն էք՝ ինչպէս Աստուած ըսաւ. «Անոնց մէջ պիտի բնակիմ եւ անոնց մէջ պիտի շրջիմ. անոնց Աստուած պիտի ըլլամ ու անոնք ինծի ժողովուրդ պիտի ըլլան: Ուստի ելէ՛ք անոնց մէջէն եւ զատուեցէ՛ք,- կ՚ըսէ Տէրը:Անմաքուր բանի մի՛ դպչիք, ու ես պիտի ընդունիմ ձեզ. ես Հայր պիտի ըլլամ ձեզի, ու դուք՝ իմ որդիներս եւ աղջիկներս պիտի ըլլաք,- կ՚ըսէ Ամենակալ Տէրը»: Ուրեմն, սիրելինե՛ր, այս խոստումները ունենալով՝ մաքրե՛նք մենք մեզ մարմինի ու հոգիի ամէն տեսակ պղծութենէ, եւ կատարելագործե՛նք սրբացումը Աստուծոյ վախով: ՂՈՒԿԱՍԻ ԱՒԵՏԱՐԱՆԷՆ 1.39-56 Այդ օրերը Մարիամ կանգնեցաւ, փութալով գնաց լեռնակողմը՝ Յուդայի մէկ քաղաքը, մտաւ Զաքարիայի տունը եւ բարեւեց Եղիսաբէթը: Երբ Եղիսաբէթ լսեց Մարիամի բարեւը, երախան խայտաց անոր որովայնին մէջ. իսկ Եղիսաբէթ լեցուեցաւ Սուրբ Հոգիով, ու բարձրաձայն գոչելով ըսաւ. «Դուն օրհնեա՜լ ես կիներուն մէջ, եւ օրհնեա՜լ է որովայնիդ պտուղը: Այս ի՞նչպէս եղաւ, որ իմ Տէրոջս մայրը եկաւ ինծի. որովհետեւ ահա՛ երբ քու բարեւիդ ձայնը հասաւ ականջիս, երախան ցնծութենէն խայտաց որովայնիս մէջ: Երանի՜ անոր՝ որ հաւատացած է, որովհետեւ՝՝ պիտի կատարուին այն բաները՝ որոնք Տէրոջմէն ըսուեցան իրեն»: 3

Մարիամ ըսաւ.

«Իմ անձս կը մեծարէ Տէրը, եւ իմ հոգիս ցնծաց իմ Փրկիչ Աստուծմովս, քանի որ նայեցաւ իր աղախինին նուաստութեան. արդարեւ ահա՛ ասկէ ետք՝ բոլոր սերունդները երանելի պիտի կոչեն զիս, որովհետեւ Հզօրը մեծամեծ բաներ ըրաւ ինծի: Անոր անունը սուրբ է, եւ անոր ողորմութիւնը իրմէ վախցողներուն վրայ է՝ սերունդէ սերունդ: Իր բազուկով զօրութիւն ցոյց տուաւ, ցրուեց ամբարտաւանները իրենց սիրտին երեւակայութեամբ: Զօրաւորները իջեցուց իրենց գահերէն, ու բարձրացուց նուաստները: Անօթիները լիացուց բարիքներով, եւ պարապ ճամբեց հարուստները: Օգնութեան հասաւ իր Իսրայէլ ծառային, յիշելով իր ողորմութիւնը ինչպէս ինք խոստացած էր մեր հայրերուն - Աբրահամի եւ անոր զարմին հանդէպ՝ յաւիտեան»: Մարիամ անոր քով մնաց՝ գրեթէ երեք ամիս, ապա վերադարձաւ իր տունը: 2 CORINTHIANS 6 .16-7.1 What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people.”

17Therefore, “Come out from them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you.” 18And, “I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.”

Therefore, since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God. LUKE 1.39-56 At that time Mary got ready and hurried to a town in the hill country of Judea, where she entered Zechariah’s home and greeted Elizabeth. When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. In a loud voice she exclaimed: “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the child you will bear! But why am I so favored, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? As soon as the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the baby in my womb leaped for joy. Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill his promises to her!”

And Mary said: “My soul glorifies the Lord

and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, for he has been mindful of the humble state of his servant.

From now on all generations will call me blessed, for the Mighty One has done great things for me— holy is his name.

His mercy extends to those who fear him, from generation to generation.

He has performed mighty deeds with his arm; he has scattered those who are proud in their inmost thoughts.

He has brought down rulers from their thrones but has lifted up the humble.

He has filled the hungry with good things but has sent the rich away empty.

He has helped his servant Israel, remembering to be merciful to Abraham and his descendants forever, just as he promised our ancestors.”

Mary stayed with Elizabeth for about three months and then returned home.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT Dear faithful, The Holy Trinity Armenian Apostolic Church continues to welcome parishioners to attend religious services in person.

Starting October 31, 2021, we will provide the space for families to host coffee and sweets receptions following memorial service at the church.

You must show your proof of second vaccination against Covid-19 and ID to be able to use the lower level facilities at the Holy Trinity Armenian Church.

Children under 12 years old do not have to show proof of vaccination.

ԱՅՍ ԿԻՐԱԿԻ - THIS SUNDAY ՏՕՆ ԸՆԾԱՅՄԱՆ Ս. ԱՍՏՈՒԱԾԱԾՆԻ 21 Նոյեմբեր Նոյեմբեր 21-ին քրիստոնէական բոլոր եկեղեցիները կը տօնեն Ս. Կոյս Մարիամին նուիրուած 7 տօներէն մէկը՝ Տօն Ս. Ատուածածնի Տաճարին Ընծայման, որ անշարժ տօն է: Աւանդութեան համաձայն ` Ս. Տիրամօր երեք տարին լրանալէ ետք անոր աստուածավախ եւ բարեպաշտ ծնողքը` Ս. Յովակիմն եւ Ս. Ան-նան, իրենց ըրած ուխտին համաձայն, Ս. Մարիամը կ'ընծայեն տաճարին, ուր ան կ'ապրի մին-չեւ նշանուիլը: Տօնի հաստատումը կ'առնչուի ան տաճարին հետ, որ Յուստինիանոս կայսր Ս. Մարիամ Աստուածածնի անունով կառուցած էր Մորիոյ բլուրին վրայ: Տաճարի նաւակատիքը եղած է 543 թ. Նոյեմբեր 21ին: 638 թ. Յուստինիանոսի կառուցած տաճարը կը վերածուի մահմետական մզկիթի: Ս. Աստուածածնի ընծայման տօնը կը տարածուի ամբողջ քրիստոնեայ աշխարհի մէջ։ Հայ Եկեղեցին սկսած է զայն տօնել 18-րդ դարէն ի վեր:

PRESENTATION OF THE HOLY MOTHER-OF-GOD TO THE TEMPLE On November 21 the Armenian church and all traditional churches celebrate one of the seven Feasts commemorating the Holy Mother of God, The feast of Presentation of St. Mary to the Temple.

According to Tradition parents of Holy Mother of God, Joachim and Anna prayed for years to have a child, and made a solemn promise, that if a child were born to them, the child would be dedicated to the service of God. God answered their prayers and a daughter was born to them. They named her Mary and did not forget their promise. When Mary was three years old, Joachim and Anna presented her to the Temple . Tradition tells us that she stayed there for about twelve years under the care of devoted women and maidens until she was betrothed to the carpenter named Joseph. ֍

Հայ Առաքելական Եկեղեցւոյ օրացոյցի համաձայն, այս Կիրակի 21 Նոյեմբերը Բարեկենդանն է Յիսնակի պահոց, իսկ բուն պահքի շրջանը կը սկսի Երկուշաբթի 16 Նոյեմբերին: Պահքի օրերուն հաւատացեալները կը հրաժարին կենդանական ծագում ունեցող ճաշերէն եւ կը սնուին միայն բուսական ուտեստեղէնով: Յիսնակը, 50 օրերու պահքի շրջան մըն է, որուն ընթացքին կը պատրաստուինք տօնելու Յիսուսի Ծնունդն ու Աստուածայայտնութիւնը, որ տեղի կ’ունենայ Յունուար 6-ին: Յունուար 6-էն 50 օրեր ետեւ հաշուելով կը հասնինք Նոյեմբեր 18-ին, հետեւաբար այդ թուականին ամենէն մօտ Կիրակին Յիսնակի Բարեկեն-դանն է: Բարեկենդան կը կոչուի պահքին նախորդող օրը: Հին շրջանին, Յիսնակի ամբողջ տեւողութեան պահք կը պահուէր, Ս. Յարութեան նախորդող Մեծ Պահքին նմանութեամբ: Սակայն ներկայիս, սովորական Չորեքշաբթի եւ Ուրբաթ օրերու օրապահքերէն զատ Յիսնակի Պահքը կը կատարուի երեք շաբաթապահքերով: Շաբաթապահքերը սովորաբար կը սկսին Երկուշաբթի օրը եւ կը վերջանան Ուրբաթ օրը: Այս տարի Յիսնակի 3 շաբաթահքերն են՝ • Յիսնակի առաջին շաբթուայ պահքը՝ Նոյեմբեր 16-20, • Ս. Յակոբի պահքը`Դեկտեմբեր 7-11, • Ս. Ծննդեան պահքը՝ Դեկտեմբեր 30- Յունուար 5: Յիսնակի պահոց շրջանը կ'աւարտի Յունուար 5-ին՝ Սուրբ Ծնունդի Ճրագալոյցի Պատարագով: 9

Today is the Eve (Paregentan) of the Fast of Advent (Hisnag). The name Hisnag comes from the word “fifty”, because Advent is a 50 days long fasting period, which guides us up to the Nativity and Theophany of our Lord Jesus Christ. The fasting period begins on the Monday closest to November 18 (50 days before January 6 falls on November 18).

Unlike the Western tradition (25 days from December 1 to Western Christmas Day on December 25), the Armenian Advent extends for 50 days and concludes with the Christmas Eve Liturgy.

Traditionally, the entire fifty-day period of Advent has been a period of fasting. Now days, there are 3 week-long fasts during Advent (along with the regular fasting days of Wednesday and Friday). The three fasts and their dates for this year are as follows: •The Fast of Advent (Hisnagats Bahk), November 16-20 • The Fast of St. James (Sourp Hagopah Bahk), December 7-11 • The Fast of the Nativity (Dzenentots Bahk) starts on December 30 till the Christmas Eve Mass. ՊԱՀՔԻ ՄԱՍԻՆ Մարդիկ յաճախ կը կարծեն, թէ պահքը միայն կենդանական ծագում ունեցող ուտելիքներէ հրաժարիլն է: Բայց իրականութեան մէջ Պահքը ոչ միայն որոշակի սնունդէ ինքզինքը զրկելն է, այլ նաեւ ինքնամաքրման, աղօթքի, զղջումի մեր մեղքերը գիտակցելու եւ խոկումի շրջան մը: Պահքը նաեւ ինքզինքը հոգեկան ու բարոյական բոլոր տեսակի մոլութիւններէ, մեղաւոր միտքերէ ու խօսքերէ մաքրելն ու անվայել գործերէ իր անձը հեռացնելն է, եւ ապաշխարութեամբ Աստուածահաճոյ կեանքով ապրիլն է: ABOUT FASTING Often people think that fasting is merely a rejection of animal food, but in reality, it is a time to abstain from temptations, sinful thoughts and wrongdoings; time to cleanse our minds and hearts from fallacies; time to repent, pray and lead a virtuous life.
