We're targeting discrimination in football. Can you help?

We are taking a zero-tolerance approach to discrimination in football. We’re calling on clubs and leagues like your own to report hate, prejudice or discrimination whenever you see it or hear it. For those people who behave in a racist, sexist or homophobic way, the message is clear. Enough is Enough. When we know it has happened, we can take the actions needed to remove discriminatory behaviour. We'll be doing so through a range of punishments: • Players will be removed from play and suspended. • Teams can have points deducted. • Grounds can be closed for repeat offenders. Together we can end hate in football. Spread the word that discrimination of all forms will be punished. Share with your welfare officers, league and club officials, and everyone across your league and clubs. We want everyone across grassroots football to know...

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. TELL US, WE’LL TACKLE IT.

https://kitaid.net A few words about KitAid KitAid is a charity set up by, Derrick Williams MBE, who visited Tanzania on a WaterAid supporters’ trip in 1998. Derrick, being a mad footie fan, was amazed at the reception he received from children and adults in remote villages just because he was wearing one of his favourite football shirts (he follows Watford, Liverpool and Chesham Utd). After two weeks in Tanzania, a flame was lit in Derrick’s heart, and he was on a mission to provide kit and equipment to the bare-footed children playing with footballs made of tied string and plastic bags. Twenty-one years on, KitAid has lots of volunteers and to date we’ve sent out 900,000+ kits to children and adults in 55 different countries across the world.

How to donate

If you’d like to support the KitAid cause, the easiest way to donate your unwanted football kit, in order for us to find it a new home. Alternatively, if you don’t have any unwanted kit, but would still like to support us, we’re very grateful for any donations which will help to fund our annual costs as well as support other partnership charities where possible. We thank you for all your support.

In working in some of the most under-privileged countries around the world, The Football Association is no stranger to seeing the impact the donation of something as simple as a shirt or a pair of shorts can make. KitAid has brought an enormous amount of pleasure and enjoyment to young and old alike through the gift of football kit and has shared the spirit of British clubs and the England team with communities in all corners of the globe. We are proud to be associated with KitAid and wish them all the best in their endeavours for the years to come. Jane Bateman, Head of International Relations, The Football Association

FC Romania History

FC Romania was founded in August 2006 by a group of Romanian workers in England who wanted to play football in their spare time. Ion Vintila entered the team into the Sunday London Weekend League playing their games on Hackney Marshes. FC Romania won their division in the first season and finished runner-up in the next. In 2008 FC Romania switched to Saturday football and joined the Essex Business House Football League, playing at Low Hall Recreational ground in Walthamstow, Northeast London. In 2010 the club moved to the Middlesex County Football League Division One, playing at Leyton Sports Centre and finished second in their first season gaining promotion. The following season in the Premier League saw FC Romania finish second but they were denied promotion to senior football due to the ground regulations. 2012 saw FC Romania begin their ground sharing relationship with Ryman League outfit Cheshunt FC in Hertfordshire. They played another season in the Middlesex County Football League and again finished in second position. Also, in this season FC Romania won the Middlesex County Senior Open Cup, beating Bratham 3-1 in the final at Uxbridge FC. The club applied for promotion to the Essex Senior League and played their first season in the ESL in 2013-14 finishing 5th. The following year FC Romania slipped one place to 6th. In the 2012 -13 season the club entered the FA Vase for the first time but only reached the second round. 2014-15 the club finally entered the FA Cup and reached the 2nd round qualifying round just losing out to Sutton United 3-2, after beating Haverhill Rovers, Heybridge Swifts and AFC Sudbury on the way. The club has gained a lot of attention in its short life from various media outlets in England, abroad and of course in Romania. The club and the manager have appeared in sports newspapers and magazines including , BBC Sport, Gazzetta dello Sport, L’equipe, The Times, The Sun , FourFourTwo magazine to name a few and on television in the UK on BBC on Japanese TV with NHK and on Romanian TV stations Pro TV and Digi Sport. The club has developed into a focal point for the Romanian community but has also attracted many local and English fans as well. The club has ambitions to progress through the leagues and reach higher standards of football while developing the team further. The aim is to eventually have our own home and become a respected and established part of English football encompassing all the good things about England and Romania and being successful in everything we do.

Alan Lee Reporting Leverstock Green 3 Northampton Sileby 0 Leverstock Green got back to winning ways after two straight defeats, as they progressed to the second round of the Gladwish Challenge Trophy with a 3-0 home win over Division One side Northampton Sileby Rangers. There was little action of note during the first half, with Radu-Mihai Stefanoaica having the best moment of the half in the 12th minute, barrelling through the visitors’ defence before hitting a shot that struck the bar. Three minutes before the break Luke Beckwith had a good effort which went across goal and wide. Sileby occasionally threatened on the break but lost their main source of danger five minutes before half time when forward Nathan Burrows had to go off injured. It was a much more positive Leverstock side that came out after the break. In the 47th minute Beckwith made a driving run into the box, but his shot was kept out by a one-handed save from keeper Dean Love. Two minutes later Love saved again to keep out a shot from Rawn Seale after Leverstock put together an impressive sweeping move from their own half. In the 53rd minute Seale got on the end of a Dan Pett corner, but his header was straight at Love, who also saved again seconds later when Pett had a clear shooting chance. Finally, in the 58th minute Leverstock took a deserved lead. After good work from Stefanoaica down the right, Ryan Carruthers played a pass from the edge of the box into the path of Beckwith, whose shot from a narrow angle went in despite Love getting a hand to it. In the 68th minute Sileby were threatening, but Josh Drain’s cross to the far post was well headed away by Rio Beach. On 72 minutes Jake Bettles could have been through on goal but for a foul from Danny May which earned the Leverstock man a yellow card. The second goal arrived in the 76th minute, and it was something of a gift from the visitors, as a defender played the ball straight to Stefanoaica, but it was still an exquisite finish from Stefanoaica, planting a perfect chip over the stranded Love from 30 yards out. Lewis Collins came off the bench after the goal and almost added his name to the scoresheet within two minutes, running onto a great pass from Callum Neal to go clean through, but being denied by a good save from Love. The third goal eventually came in the 88th minute, created by May with a cross from the left and finished from close range by George Mitchell-Gears. The win takes Leverstock into the second round, where they will be at home to Dunstable Town or Sawbridgeworth Town and is also a confidence booster ahead of next Saturday’s visit to high-flying Milton Keynes Irish. Man of the Match Nat Connolly, named as MOM vs Northampton Sileby Rangers by Keith Pym

Radu, named as MOM vs Milton Keynes Irish

Alan Lee Reporting Milton Keynes Irish 2 Leverstock Green 2 A goal deep into stoppage time rescued a well-deserved point for Leverstock Green from their visit to Milton Keynes Irish. MK were second in the Spartan South Midlands League Premier Division with 12 wins and a goal difference of 41 from their first 14 league games, so were expected to pose the toughest test so far for Leverstock. However, Fergus Moore’s side worked hard throughout to ensure that they matched them all the way. With three central defenders missing there was a welcome return for Paul Marks, making the move from Belstone for his first Leverstock appearance since 2021/22. Leverstock could hardly have made a better start to the game and were ahead with 90 seconds on the clock. A superb pass from just inside his own half by Ryan Carruthers put Radu-Mihai Stefanoaica in behind the last defender with a clear run at goal, and Stefanoaica did the rest, running on to slot past keeper Tom Ladyman for his 13th goal of the season. There could have been a second goal in the 5th minute. A poor back pass put Ladyman in trouble, and Rawn Seale won the ball, but his shot was blocked on the line by a covering defender. Instead, the scores were level two minutes later. George Shrieves received the ball just outside the Leverstock box and got past a couple of defenders before hitting a low shot which Josh Bowler got a hand to but couldn’t keep out. Leverstock had some defending to do for the next 20 minutes. In the 14th minute there was an almighty goalmouth scramble from an MK corner, with Rio Beach firstly heading off the line, and two further follow-up efforts being blocked in the six-yard box. In the 24th minute another corner went over the outstretched arm of Bowler but was cleared off the line by Dan Pett. Four minutes later there was a controversial moment when Bowler came off his line to claim the ball ahead of an oncoming attacker. Bowler’s momentum and the slippery conditions appeared to take him just outside the penalty area with the ball still in his hands. The referee blew for the free kick, and showed Bowler a yellow card when many in the ground were expecting a straight red. With no further chances, the scores were level at the break. The second half saw a spell of heavier rain, although the pitch still held up very well.

Leverstock were under some pressure early in the second half, with a challenge from Beach denying a chance for Mason Spence in the 49th minutes, and a great save from Bowler keeping out a shot from Ryan Smith two minutes later. In the 59th minute Luke Beckwith was through on goal but tried to square for Stefanoaica instead of hitting a shot himself, and the pass was blocked. Four minutes later Leverstock had a free kick in a dangerous position a yard outside the box, but Stefanoaica’s effort curled just wide of the post. It was still a very even contest until the 77th minute when the home side took the lead with a somewhat fortuitous goal. A punch away from Bowler cannoned off his own defender and landed at the feet of Spence, who had the simple task of shooting home from a yard out. However, Leverstock were not beaten and pushed forward for an equaliser. In the 84th minute a cross from Ethan Mooney looked set to drop for Jayden Newman, but Ladyman claimed the ball. Two minutes into stoppage time Leverstock were unlucky again when a shot from Stefanoaica hit the inside of the post and rebounded across goal, but didn’t go in. MK immediately broke away and had a two-against-one situation, but the chance was blocked. Had they taken the ball into the corner instead of going for the third goal they would probably have run the clock out and won the game. Instead, Leverstock got the ball back and won a corner in the 4th minute of stoppage time. Before the corner was taken, Scott McGleish came off the subs bench. McGleish didn’t touch the ball, but perhaps his presence caused concern in the MK defence as Dan Pett swung the corner right into the danger zone, and Stefanoaica was there to smash the ball home from close range for a dramatic equaliser. In the aftermath of the goal Ladyman was sent to the sinbin and was replaced in goal by Liam Smyth, but there wasn’t enough time left for anything to happen and the final whistle went for a final score of 2-2, a game bookended by Stefanoaica’s two goals. Leverstock Green (1) 2 (Stefanoaica 2, 90+4) 1. Josh Bowler, 2. Ethan Mooney, 3. Rio Beach (19. Scott McGleish 90+3 mins), 4. Paul Marks, 5. Callum Neal, 6. Ryan Carruthers (14. Alan Lee Reporting Leverstock Green Development 2 Cuffley 3 Leverstock Green Development put up a very good effort in their Herts Senior Centenary Trophy tie, but their young side were just edged out by a strong and experienced Cuffley side. Leverstock took the lead in the 19th minute. Connor McGinty made a good run down the right, and his cross found Callum Moore, whose shot was saved, but Dylan Duane-Berry followed up to net the rebound. Cuffley equalised in the 26th minute through Dan Jones, who hit a good shot from the edge of the box. Cuffley could have added a second two minutes later when Joseph Willis was clean through and attempted to send a lob over Green keeper Daniel Gee, but Gee stretched out an arm and diverted the ball away. Callum Moore went very close with a shot from outside the box in the 34th minute, and in the closing minutes of the half Gee twice denied Cuffley forward Mark Ajayi, firstly by deflecting a shot wide, and then by blocking a shot with his feet. The scores were level at the break, but Cuffley took the lead within three minutes of the restart. Drew Tyler hit a free kick from 30 yards that Gee got a hand to but could not keep out. In the 52nd minute there was a crazy goalmouth scramble in the Cuffley box following a Leverstock free kick that was not cleared, but the ball would not go in the net. The decisive moment of the game came in the 66th minute. Leverstock went very close to an equaliser with a header that was cleared off the line, but Cuffley instantly broke away, and Ajayi got the better of the sole Green defender before sending a lob over Gee to put his side 3-1 up. Leverstock brought on all five subs, and two of them combined in the 82nd minute as a crossfield ball from Schilo Kanda found Luc Dischamps, who hit a good effort that went into the side netting. In the last minute of the ninety Leverstock were given a lifeline when Dischamps was tripped in the box. The referee awarded the penalty and Callum Moore made no mistake from the spot to put his side back in the game at 2-3. Over eight minutes of stoppage time were played, and in the last of those minutes Leverstock had two good shouts for handball in the box during another goalmouth scramble in which the ball would not go in. The referee gave nothing this time, though, and despite a great effort from the Green side to take the tie into penalties, Cuffley held on to go through to the next round. 1 Daniel Gee 2 Bobby O’Flynn 3 Stephen Norris 4 Shay Kelly 5 Endrit Krasniqi 6 Alfie Herd 7 Lewis Collins 8 Connor McGinty 9 Jamie McIntosh 10 Callum Moore ⚽ 90+1 11 Dylan Duane-Berry ⚽ 19 12 Harry Herbert (Norris 63) 14 Luc Dischamps (Kelly 77) 15 Martin Kirov (O’Flynn 72) 16 Schilo Mateta Kanda (McIntosh 72) 17 Alex King (Collins 72)

Development & U18’s Team News Leverstock Green Development lost 2 – 1 in the Norman Appleby Cup 1st round against Bovingdon Reserves, Luc Dischamps was our goal scorer with an assist from Jamie McIntosh. Leverstock Green Development registered their first win since the appointment of Andy Murray as manager as they travelled to Baldock Town Reserves and came away with the three points. Two goals from Jamie McIntosh were enough for a 2-0 win.

The under-18s broke their run of defeats with an excellent 2-1 win in a Brian Hitchings Cup first round tie against a Barnet U18 side at The Hive on Monday. Goals from Oscar Martin and Jamie McIntosh put the Leverstock side into a 2-0 half time lead, and although Barnet pulled a goal back late on, it was Leverstock that progressed into the second round of the Brian Hitchings Cup. The under-18s were beaten away by unbeaten Winslow United on Thursday night, despite having led 31 at one stage. A goal from Luc Dischamps put Leverstock in front in the 11th minute. After a Winslow equaliser in the 19th minute, a low drive from Joe Sadler put the Green side back in front in the 26th minute. Ten minutes into the second half a penalty converted by Jamie McIntosh made it 3-1 to Leverstock, but Winslow hit back quickly and were back level at 3-3 within a couple of minutes. Two further goals from the home side swung the match decisively in their favour. The under-18s registered their third league win of the season on Thursday night, an impressive 3-0 result against Aylesbury Vale Dynamos at the Lords Builders Merchants Stadium. Shay Kelly scored the opening goal in first half stoppage time, while Jamie McIntosh (76) and Luc Dischamps (82) added further goals in the second half.
