From my memory, summertime in Spain is such a wonderful time of the year, and I’m looking forward to getting back and lying on a beach at sunset, paddling in the warm sea on a gorgeous day, and sitting in a seafront café eating ice cream and sipping vino tinto! I’d planned to be back already, but lately life doesn’t seem to allow me to plan too far ahead, so I’m slowly learning to take each day as it comes and trust in God’s / the Universe’s plan rather than my own! That means constantly keeping my eye out for the signs that show up in everyday life… and I’ve learned that the more we look for them, the more we see…

Here’s an example that happened to me fairly recently… The number that always shows up for me and lets me know that spirit is speaking is number 33 or 333.

On this day, back in February, I got a taxi to New Orleans airport and smiled big as I noticed a massive 333 on the side. Because of that one small event I had an expectation that something amazing would happen throughout the course of the day. And it did!

I'd just finished a 3-day seminar on Internet Marketing to apply to my book writing, editing and publishing business. However, most of the information seemed a little advanced. Nevertheless, there was one session in the midst of all the others that really appealed, and I took pages of notes. Unfortunately, I didn't manage to find the speaker after to ask him the questions that I needed answers to in order to take further action.

On my way home, at New Orleans airport, a member of staff asked if I'd mind swapping my airplane seat, which was in row 8, to row 21 as a man in a wheelchair wanted to be closer to the front of the plane. I agreed and took my new seat on the plane. A lovely couple sat down in the two chairs next to me. We started talking and when I said I'd been to a seminar, they shrieked and said that they'd attended the exact same seminar!

We continued talking throughout the flight and the man revealed that he worked in close partnership with the one speaker who I'd resonated with (note: there were at least 30 speakers at the event). I silently thanked the universe. He was able to answer all of my questions in depth, plus far more, and he even said he could give me personal mentoring. Thanks to the magical and mysterious workings of the Universe, I now knew that this slightly new path would be a bright and fruitful one.

The moral of this story is to always follow the signs, be open to incredible things happening, and know that there are NO coincidences.... everything happens for a reason.

Strange News Bare Judge A female High Court Judge in Bosnia, sacked after she stripped off and lay on her office desk to sunbathe - has been given her job back.

EnisaBilajac, 35, had been spotted in her office before courts began and could clearly be seen exercising in the nude. Later she was seen starkers on her desk, catching the rays of sunshine shining through her window.

Unbeknown to her, the naked judge was photographed by another early riser at the council offices across the road in the capital Sarajevo.

The snap was published in local media, sparking an internal inquiry at the court building. The matter ended up with the disciplinary commission of the Supreme Court, and she was fired after it ruled her behaviour had "damaged the image of the Supreme Court".

The woman said, however, that her office door had been locked, and she was entitled to exercise as a way of warming up for the day ahead. She said she had not expected any staff to be in the building opposite at that time.

In the end the Supreme Court Council decided she had not acted incorrectly and had not intended to harm her professional credibility, and she has been reinstated.

Camel Prank Comedian Hamad al-Amari turned heads in the Gulf state of Qatar - by turning up at a Burger King drive-thru on his camel. Al-Amari had been planning to perform the stunt for two years, and the fact that it has become YouTube's latest viral video means that he won't be getting the hump any time soon. He added: "I just finally got the chance to do it. I knew that this was something the world would laugh at, not just Qataris or people living in Qatar."

Bewildered employees at the fast-food chain called their manager over to witness the bizarre experience. They saw the funny side and posed for pictures with the camel. Police arrived at the scene soon afterwards but no action was taken.

An elderly Floridian called 911 on her cell phone to report that her car has been broken into. De Cotta Law Custody of Children – Overview by De Cotta Law The Spanish courts have always had jurisdiction to decide on matters affecting children who are habitually resident here. However for many years this did not necessarily mean that Spanish law would be applied to decisions about custody, visits and maintenance as the matters were often decided under the law of the child’s nationality. Since the introduction of European Regulations on the law applicable to children the Spanish court will apply its own law to questions about the child’s welfare. The payment is decided in the country where the creditor ie the parent who is owed for the maintenance is habitually resident. Therefore a mother or father owed maintenance in Spain needs to apply to the Spanish court.

Best interests of the Child For example if the parents cannot agree about custody and about the level of maintenance payable the Spanish court will decide based on the best interests of the child. Both parents automatically have shared parental responsibility.

This means they should be involved in decisions about the child’s education, health care and general well being. However this is not the same as having joint custody which decides on whether the child should live with one parent but have regular contact with the other parent.

If the parents cannot agree and the Judge has to make the decision the standard or “default” regime for the parent without custody in Spain is every other weekend, 4 weeks in summer and alternate Christmas and Easter holidays. international Perspective Where the parents live in different countries this can be adapted to take account of the travel needs and additional costs involved. In most cases the parents agree on their own pattern of visits and custody but it is important to realise the court will always protect the parent who does not have custody in requiring regular contact and the fixed regime brings certainty to the children who will have a routine.

In some regions of Spain such as Valencia the courts do prefer to see joint custody which does not necessarily mean exactly 50/50 of the time with each parent but may mean 3 days with one parent and 4 with the other or alternating weeks. This is always provided the court can see it is in the best interests of the child and is a positive and stable outcome. There are some pressure groups now fighting for joint custody for all parents but until now there is no national legislation though there are consultations proceeding.

Expolding Belly Button... Ouch!!!!

Woman's belly-button exploded during flight after botched tummy tuck - and she is awarded £22k compensation Patricia Jackson was concerned when her bellybutton had disappeared after surgery only to find it bursting from inside her during a flight to Portugal A care home manager has been awarded more than £20,000 after a botched tummy tuck led to her belly button exploding during a flight.

Patricia Jackson, 68, of Bridlington, East Yorkshire, had received surgery to remove excess skin after a tough weight loss routine. But years later her stomach burst during a terrifying midair ordeal on a flight to Portugal.

She underwent an abdominoplasty by plastic surgeon Edgardo Schiavone, who worked for the Hospital Group in Birmingham in 2005.

Extra skin and fat was removed and the muscles were tightened in the abdominal wall, said a spokeswoman for Fletchers Solicitors. Following the operation, surgeons told Mrs Jackson that they had not "created" a new belly button for her because there was not enough

skin left over after the operation. But it later emerged that they had left part of the old one inside her, the spokeswoman said. In 2011, on a return flight from a holiday in Portugal, Mrs Jackson noticed that there were blisters around where her old belly button had been and the area "unexpectedly burst", the spokeswoman for the law firm added. Following the flight, medics discovered her old belly button had been left inside her and she once again had to undergo reconstructive surgery.

Earlier this year she was awarded £22,500 compensation after she successfully sued the doctor.

"The result of my case means that awareness has been raised and it can hopefully change patient care in the future," Mrs Jackson said.

Jeanette Aspinall, head of medical negligence at Fletchers Solicitors, said: "This case highlights how easy it is for an everyday cosmetic surgery procedure, like a tummy tuck, to go wrong, both with the surgery itself and if the proper after-care is not administered.

"Mrs Jackson had the operation to gain confidence, and instead was subjected to years of pain and embarrassment."

Summer Time Fun things to do in the sun 1. Hang your laundry out to dry. There is simply nothing like climbing into a bed whose clean sheets smell sweetly of sun and fresh air. And it saves energy!

2. Wash stained items as usual and then throw them over a bush located in full sunlight to take advantage of the sun’s natural bleaching power (our ancestors used to dry their linens on lavender bushes so they would be permeated with sun, fresh air, and the divine scent of lavender.)

4. Try making Sun Tea. Children are fascinated by the sun’s power to change things and love to get involved in this process. 5. Eat outdoors whenever possible. The light is

so breathtaking in the late evenings, and absorbing the sights and sounds of nature while you eat is a lovely way to slow down, enjoy your meal, and improve both your digestion and your attitude.

6. Water-play on hot summer days never goes out of style: you’ll be amazed how much fun you and your kids can get out of a lawn sprinkler or a garden hose. Or you can save precious water and take a trip to the nearest lake, river, or beach. It’s all about contrasts–warm sun, cool water. And splashing is so much fun!

City Centre Lost !

Basingstoke put back on the map after its name was replaced with 'Town Centre' by Google

Chris Quintana, from Hampshire's Chamber of Commerce, said: "This does absolutely nothing for inward investment into the UK.

Local business owners were left furious by the error with Google forced to apologise.

"This town is not called 'Town Centre' it has a name and it is called Basingstoke." Basingstoke is about 48 miles southwest of London. and it has an estimated population of about 84,275.

Basingstoke has quite literally been put back on the map after its name was replaced with 'Town Centre' by Google.

Google Maps has now reinstated the town name on some browsers.

However, as reported by the BBC, it is still blank for some users.

A spokesman for the technology giant apologised for the error, before adding: "An engineer is quite literally putting Basingstoke on the map."

However, it did not go down well with many locals.

New Mum In Town - Bye Bye Nappies - Hello Big Girl Pants So, amazingly, Jazmín is now two years and three months old. Each day she learns more Spanish, meaning that each day she speaks more Spanglish. However, the stress of nappy changes is too much ─ I mean, seriously, it’s a two-people operation and incredibly exhausting for all involved. Enough is enough….I have spoken with the nursery and they have agreed.

It’s time to say adios to the evil nappy…here we go. It was our first nappy-less weekend.

Fortunately, it was hot and sunny so we spent the entire two days on the terrace, making up games and drinking gallons of water. Needless to say, getting to the actual toilet on time was out of the question so we had the potty at hand, however it was a case of so close and yet so far. Jazmín very much liked to announce her ‘pee pee’, but afterwards…and she very much liked her potty, but afterwards…and Mummy very much liked washing floors and endless pairs of knickers and trousers ─ all weekend!

The first weekend was a washout, literally.

Keep calm. Patience. Nursery will certainly sort it out….Miss J had other ideas. She decided to hold it or, pee all over!!! Eeek! The knicker washing continued, and madam was enjoying her new game. Mmm, it was time to get serious…. “Jazmín – pee in the toilet, not knickers,

not suelo” said I.. and with that, she went to the potty in time; YIPPEE!! Who would have thought that matters of toilet could cause such celebration? Such an important moment – we had reached another milestone! After a few days I started to feel more confident in going out without the nappy. Jazmín was happy with her potty at home but not in public, though, which meant holding it…until Supermum suddenly suggested Miss J could pee like a doggy….wowsers, who would have thought that my little girl would be such an alfresco naturist! It definitely worked, and she loved her reward afterwards…chocolate! Like mother like daughter. After a week, Jazmín was pretty much potty trained, and Mummy was rather emotional. On one side I was overjoyed that the nappies had gone (apart from siesta and night time) and celebrated my baby girl, however on the flip side, I realised just how she wasn’t my ‘baby girl’ anymore and instead, was fast becoming my ‘little girl’ and more independent. The past two years have whizzed by, and I can’t quite believe it. Note to all mums Definitely cherish and bottle every precious moment ─ even the testing tantrums, as before you know it, our little rugrats won’t be so little and we will miss it all!

Everyone knows how delicious cherries can be, but they also have some important health benefits Cherries, along with many other berries, are a rich source of antioxidants, which help prevent or repair the damage that is done to the body’s cells by free radicals. Tart cherries contain two powerful compounds: anthocyanins and bioflavonoids. Both of these compounds slow down the enzymes Cyclooxyygenase-1 and -2, which help to relieve and prevent arthritis and gout in the body. By helping reduce inflammation in the body, the anthocyanin and bioflavonoids also help eliminate migraine headaches. These compounds are

known to have similar activity to aspirin and ibuprofen.

Extensive evidence suggests that the anti-oxidant melatonin, which is also contained in cherries, is significant in improving the body’s circadian rhythms. Melatonin is also found to help the body’s natural sleep patterns and since the body absorbs it rapidly, eating cherries can improve the way you sleep.

Beware of eating too many cherries though, as they will give you too much sugar. The La Ruta del Sol y del Aguacate takes us on a 75km trip through beautiful countryside and six municipalities, Rincon de la Victoria, Macharaviaya, Vélez-Málaga, Benamargosa, Benamocarra and Iznate.

We start our tour in the seaside resort of Rincon de la Victoria, just 12kms from Málaga and 21kms from Vélez-Málaga, at the far south westerly point of the Axarquia. Here we find tropical vegetation and large expanses of sugar cane.

Mangos , Papayas, Custard Apples and of course Avocados thrive in this area due to the exceptional microclimate which is created by the mountains of Almirara, Alhama and the Natural Park of Tejeda. We take the N-340 coastal road for 3kms before turning left onto a 9km climb to Macharaviaya, founded in the 16th century on a former Moorish settlement, this charming village with it’s cobbled streets has enchanted visitors who love romance as well as artists and artisans who have made it their home. The mid 19th century modernist poet and writer Salvador Rueda was born close by in Benaque and the noble Galvéz family lived there in the 18th century, it was the birthplace of José de Gálvez who became Marquis of Sonora and Minister for the Indies, his ashes can still be found in an urn in the parish church. Continuing, we go back onto the N-340 heading east until we come to the coastal resort of Torre del Mar from where it is just a short drive to our next stop the capital of the Axarquía, Vélez-Málaga. This busy, bustling town is steeped in history and needs a page of its own to tell of its many attractions, in fact the old town was declared a historic artistic monument in November 1970 and a must see are the beautiful paintings of local artist Evaristo Guerra in the

Hermitage de los Remedios, patron of Vélez.

We move out of the centre of Vélez and take the A356 past Trapiche, turning left at Bar El Cruce towards our next stop Benamargosa, which is signposted as being just 8kms. Opposite the turn for Axarquia airport a track leads up to the Buddhist Stupa which is also worth a visit. As you drive into the village, just before the bridge on the right hand side is the 16th century parish church of La Encarnación. Opposite the church is a bar which makes fresh churros (long thin strands of doughnuts) on its front terrace which are very tasty with hot chocolate and not at all fattening!

The route then retraces itself back to the A356 in the direction of Vélez-Málage until a right hand turn takes you the 4kms to Benamocarra. To make this more interesting you can just drive onto the dry river bed at Benamargosa and take it all the way to Benamocarra, in fact you can follow it all the way to our final stop Iznate. In the summer the dry river beds are used as roads and even a normal car can take this river bed route to Benamocarra and Iznate. Benamocarra boasts a 16th century parish church of Santa Ana and a new fountain in the main square where all the village men stand and while away the hours. To finish our tour we continue along the 5kms winding road to Iznate a steep village with stunning views of the mountain ranges, breathtaking at the best of times! The 16th century church of San Gregorio was rebuilt after the Moorish rebellion and restored 50 years ago. This village is famous for its Muscatel grapes and every year these are celebrated in August at the Fiesta de la Uva Moscatel which takes place on the first Saturday of the month when the locals firstly attend mass and then enjoy a flamenco festival and free local produce. The route finishes in Iznate and to get back to the coast you just continue on the same road down past the small village of Cajiz and under the autovia following signs to the playa, just a 15 minute drive away.

For the sauce: 3tbs. unsalted butter, cut into six pieces 2tbs. finely diced shallot (1 medium shallot) 1/4 cup dry white vermouth or dry white wine 1/4 cup finely chopped mixed fresh herbs, such as flat-leaf parsley and chives 1/4 tsp. finely grated lemon zest Salt and freshly ground black pepper 2 to 3 lemon wedges for serving

Heat a 10 or 12 inch non-stick frying pan or skillet over medium-high heat for 1 to 2 minutes.

Add the oil and butter, if using, and heat until quite hot. Pat the scallops dry once more and put them in the pan in a single, uncrowded layer. Season with salt and pepper and let sear undisturbed until one side is browned and crisp --2 to 4 minutes. Using tongs, turn the scallops and sear until the second side is well browned and the scallops are almost firm to the touch, 2 to 4 minutes. Take the pan off the heat, transfer the scallops to a plate, and set them in a warm spot. Let the pan cool for a minute before you make the sauce.

Return the pan to medium heat. Add a piece of the butter (1/2 tbs.) and the shallots and sauté until the shallots begin to soften, about 1 minute. Add the vermouth or wine and simmer until reduced by about half, another 1 to 2 minutes. Add the herbs and lemon zest. Reduce the heat to low, add the remaining butter, and whisk constantly until the butter melts into the sauce. Return the scallops and any accumulated juices to the pan. Gently roll the scallops in the sauce to warm them through. Taste for salt and pepper and serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side to squeeze over the scallops.

Profile Full Name: Uri Geller Birthday: December 20, 1946 Birth Place: Tel Aviv, Israel age: 67 Nationality: British, Israeli tV shows: The Successor, Phenomenon, Back to Reality Geller's career as an entertainer has spanned almost four decades, with television shows and appearances in many countries.

He used to call his abilities "psychic" but now prefers to refer to himself as a "mystifier" and entertainer.

It is claimed that Geller is a distant relative of Sigmund Freud on his mother's side.

He did not learn English until he went to school in Nicosia, Cyprus, at the age of 11 At the age of 18 he served in the Israeli Army's Paratroopers Brigade, and was wounded in action during the 1967 Six-Day War. Geller worked as a photographic model in 1968 and 1969, and during this time, began to perform for small audiences as a nightclub entertainer, becoming well known in Israel.

By the 1970s, Geller had become known in the United States and Europe. He also received attention from the scientific community, whose members were interested in examining his reported psychic abilities.

His performance included bending spoons, describing hidden drawings, and making watches stop or run faster. Geller said he performs these feats through willpower and the strength of his mind.

Magicians have said that his performances can be duplicated using stage magic tricks.

In his first autobiography, My Story, Geller admitted that in his early career, he added a magic trick to make his performances last longer. This involved Geller appearing to guess audience members' licence plate numbers, when in fact his manager had given them to him beforehand.

Geller starred in the 2001 horror film Sanitarium, and in May 2002, he appeared as a contestant on the first series of the TV show I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here, where he was the first to be eliminated and finished in last place.

He is trilingual, speaking English, Hebrew, and Hungarian.

In an appearance on Esther Rantzen's 1996 television talk show, Geller claimed to have suffered from anorexia nervosa for several years.

He has written 16 fiction and non fiction books.

He negotiated the famous TV interview between his friend, Michael Jackson,and journalist Martin Bashir for the TV programme: Living with Michael Jackson.

Michael Jackson was best man when Geller renewed his wedding vows in 2001.

In 1997, Geller tried to help the Second Division football club Exeter City win a crucial end of season game by placing "energy-infused" crystals behind the goals at Exeter's ground.

Exeter lost the game 5–1.

During the Euro 96 football game between Scotland and England at Wembley, Geller, who was hovering overhead in a helicopter, claimed to have moved the ball from the penalty spot when Scotland's Gary McAllister was about to take a penalty kick.

Reproduction occurs through internal fertilisation. Sawfish are ovoviviparous, meaning their young is in eggs, but these eggs develop inside the mother's body. The young are nourished by a yolk sac. Depending on the species, gestation may last from several months to a year. The pups are born with their saw fully developed, but it is sheathed and flexible to avoid injuring the mother at birth.

There appears to be a lack of reliable data on sawfish populations, but estimates are that populations of smalltooth sawfish have declined by 95 per cent or more and largetooth sawfish have also declined dramatically

A sawfish's snout is a long, flat blade that has about 20 ‘teeth’ on either side. This snout may be used to catch fish, and also has electroreceptors to detect passing prey The teeth on a sawfish's snout are not true teeth, but modified scales.

A sawfish's real teeth are located inside its mouth, which is on the fish's underside Sawfish are elasmobranchs - fish that have a skeleton made of cartilage – of which there are more than 1000 species. They are in the family Pristidae, a word which comes from the Greek word for saw There is some debate over the number of sawfish species, especially since sawfish are relatively understudied. According to the World Register of Marine Species, there are four species of sawfish. The largetooth sawfish and the smalltooth sawfish occur in the U.S Sawfish can grow to over 20 feet long. The smalltooth sawfish might be small in teeth size, but not in length; it can grow to 25 feet long.

The green sawfish, which lives off the coasts of Africa, Asia and Australia, can reach lengths of at least 24 feet.

Threats to sawfish include fishing, bycatch in fishing gear, and habitat loss due to development, which particularly affects juveniles which seek shelter in vegetation in shallow water

Later in the morning, my secretary knocked on my office door and said, "Since it's your birthday, why don't we have lunch together?"

Thinking it would make me feel better, I said, "That's a good idea." So we locked up the office, and since it was my birthday, I said, "Why don't we drive out of town and have lunch in the country instead of going to the usual place?"

So we drove out of town and went to a little outof-the-way inn and had a couple of martinis and a nice lunch.

We started driving back to town, when my secretary said, "Why don't we go to my place, and I will fix you another martini."

It sounded like a good idea, since we didn't have much to do in the office. So we went to her apartment, and she fixed us some martinis.

After a while, she said, "If you will excuse me, I think I will slip into something more comfortable," and she left the room.

In a few minutes, she opened her bedroom door and came out carrying a big birthday cake. Following her were my wife and all my kids. And there I sat with nothing on but my socks.
