Dear brothers and sisters in Christ and precious friends of LFR,

Prayer Calendar

It’s that season again when it is time to begin to pray without ceasing for us at Lake Forest Ranch. It is in answer to your prayers each summer that God works mightily here. Please receive this prayer calendar as an urgent appeal to you for your fervent intercession. It is the prayer covering each year that has made LFR a place where eternal things happen constantly. Our summer 2016 theme is “Amazing Grace!” We are using another acronym to help to explain this wonderful heart of the gospel of Jesus – God’s Relentless Affection Christ Expresses. All that God has done for us through His precious Son leaves no room for doubt about this important truth – He loves us! His grace got us into this great salvation and His grace carries us every day as His rescued and highly favored children. His grace is so amazing! Pray for us that the message of grace will shine brightly here this summer. It’s this message that will change the world. It’s the only message that has that potential. And the message of grace is a person; “we gazed upon His glory; the glory revealed by the one and only Son sent from the Father; this Son is forever full of grace and truth.”

This is your invitation to pray for the LFR 2016 Summer Camps & Staff

Gray Barnes - Macon, MS - Head Cook - It is the summer of grace, so I pray the Lord will teach me to receive and give grace humbly as Jesus did. Gray Gilmore - Marianna, FL - Camp Macon Intern - My prayer for myself and this summer staff is to become more sensitive to where the Holy Spirit is leading. Also, of course, I ask for you to pray for Camp Macon and that He will show up and show out in a big way. Griffin McKnight - Brandon, MS - Counselor - For strength trust and understanding for both me and my family. Before You Dive Into the Prayer Calendar

News from LFR Labor Day Weekend Family Escape September 2-5, 2016 At the LFR Labor Day Weekend Family Escape there will be many opportunities to be inspired and to have unforgettable fun with your family. It will be an ideal conclusion to summer 2016 with worship, Bible study, a huge number of recreation options (just like summer camp), family games and crafts and great fellowship with other families who love our Lord Jesus. The retreat begins with supper at 7 pm on Friday, September 2 and ends after breakfast with a final word of inspiration on Labor Day – September 5. Sign up online by going to the LFR website. Call the LFR office for more information or to receive a printed brochure. Church Group and Parachurch Group Retreats at LFR After summer camp ends we begin hosting church/parachurch retreats at LFR. If your church family is interested in planning a Family Retreat, Youth Retreat, Children’s Retreat, College Retreat or Adult Retreat, Lake Forest Ranch is the place to come. We are able to host weekend and weekday retreats for all of the non-summer months. Give Nick Hall a call at the camp office if you are interested. YOUR GIFT TO LFR Please prayerfully consider using the enclosed envelope to help Lake Forest Ranch in one of the following vital ways: • Unrestricted Gifts – this helps us keep the cost for camper fees as low as possible; about 8% of the LFR operating budget each year must come from these unrestricted contributions. • Campership Gifts – with close to 100 campers each summer coming to LFR at a reduced rate or at no cost, the need for this fund is very large. It’s important too. These are kids who have no other possible way to come to camp without our help. And they really need to be here. • Mission Camp Macon Gifts – this annual outreach to the local community “just down the road” from Lake Forest (including all of Noxubee County), can only happen through friends giving to help fund it. Lives are being transformed through this important outreach to our county. • Capital Improvements Gifts – we would really like to make some needed improvements to several of our older buildings and equipment before proceeding to our proposed next big project. We can’t build or renovate without all the wonderful support that we receive from friends like you.

Perrin Jones - Collierville, TN - Counselor - My main prayer is that kids would come to Christ as Lord and Savior this summer and give Him glory when they leave camp. I also pray that while I counsel at LFR this summer that it would be an opening for God to show me the next steps He has planned for me in my life. Randy Wright - Clinton, MS - Worship Leader - Pray for my ministry as the worship leader that God would be glorified and Jesus exalted. Reed Pearson - West Point, MS - Videographer - For myself I would ask for strength from our Father in heaven and that I would not try to move on my own accord and not worry. As someone who likes to plan, this is super hard to just allow God to do according to His perfect plan. For unity between staff members, that we would laugh, cry, scream, rise and fall together. That the Lord would remind me and the others that one's value does not come from how "big" a job is but rather is found in Christ alone. That I would show the same to my beloved brothers and sisters that I will be serving with and with the young lads and lasses we will be ministering to. Lastly to keep an open mind and spirit, willing to listen to what Truth is saying rather than what my belief says. Rich Malone - Macon, MS - Executive Director - Pray that the grace and peace of our Lord Jesus Christ would be clearly evident in my life and through my life this summer in the midst of all the busy days and the demanding schedule. "Jesus be Jesus in me…" Samuel Lucas - Saltillo, MS - Workstaff - 1st Half - I would like prayer for a clear mind and heart this summer so that I will be able to share the good news of Christ to the kids and staff. Sandy Malone - Macon, MS - Office Manager/Staff Trainer - Pray that I would walk in the Spirit and allow His glory to be revealed as I depend on Him for what He has called me to this summer. Scott Humston - Kids Camp E Speaker - Please pray for travel safety and health of myself and family. Pray that my messages would be clear and that hearts of all who hear would be open to the work of the Holy Spirit. Pray that the joy of camp would not be stolen by the enemy. Seth Jones - Dayton, TN - Counselor - I pray that God will continue to work in my life spiritually by growing more mature in my faith and that He will affirm my calling in life (to become a bi-vocational youth minister and a History Teacher). I also pray that as a Summer Staff, we will truly fulfill LFR's Mission Statement which is "Building Relationships for Eternal Impact" and as a Summer Staff, come together and not only build relationships for eternal impactwith each other on the Summer Staff but also build relationships with the campers that will attend LFR.
