VINE Project Officer (18-24k pro rata) PURPOSE OF JOB: Each Project officer will manage and coordinate one of the three VINE sites. 1. To manage and co-ordinate one of the three VINE sites which will run for 3 years. The Project will offer regular volunteering opportunities for the whole community, including specialist groups such as the elderly or NEETs and particularly those who are disadvantaged. Working in groups, under the guidance of an Activity Leader, participants will carry out a variety of client-led woodland activities and improvement works at the site. 2. To manage a budget for the site and seek local funding opportunities applicable to the site. 3. To prepare quarterly progress reports for project funders and the Tir Coed Board of Trustees, as well as attending monthly team meetings. KEY WORK AREAS: 

Work in partnership with local organisations, community groups and councils to: o o o o o o o o o

Obtain the necessary planning permissions; Deliver the works agreed for the site Carry out community consultation Liaise with referral organisations Organise and manage Open Days; Organise and manage Special Activity Days Organise and manage training courses Organise and manage ongoing monitoring and a final evaluation of the site. Recruit volunteers onto the project

Work in partnership with the Accreditation Officer, organisations and Tutors to: o o o o o o

Promote the projects to participants Register and induct volunteers onto the Project; Contract and manage Activity Leaders and Support Workers; Administer the purchase of tools & equipment; Administer and manage the Millennium Volunteers programme, with assistance from the Accreditation Officer; Meet with Volunteers, Tutors and the Accreditation Officer on a quarterly


basis to monitor the progress towards meeting VINE targets, to identify any barriers to the successful delivery of the project, and to agree on any remedial and improvement actions that are necessary.

The jobholder will liaise with the Accreditation Officer and Support Workers on a regular basis and visit activities, as and when necessary, to manage the successful implementation of the Project. 

Manage funding for the VINE project site. o o o o o o

Supply information for the Tir Coed Finance Manager to undertake financial monitoring; Oversee and manage the financial monitoring of the Project Site; Prepare Quarterly Progress Reports for Funders and the Tir Coed Board; Attend regular Team Meetings; Oversee the monitoring of the Project and Participants, ensuring that the Outputs and Outcomes agreed with each funder are being met; Research localised funding pots and fundraise accordingly.
