S Interested businesses should register now for the upcoming Tioga County Chamber of Commerce Annual Business Show. Tioga Business 2016 presented by Tioga State Bank, will be held on Thursday, October 6, at the Owego Treadway Banquet and Conference Center. Each year this signature event brings together over 100 area businesses. It’s a great opportunity to share what your
organization does and sell your products and services. This event can help you promote your business within the community and foster long lasting relationships. Candor Squad’s Golf Tournament - Sept 24 The Candor Emergency Squad will host their Seventh Annual Golf Tournament at the Catatonk Golf Club in Candor on September 24. The four-person captain and crew tournament will have an 8:30 am shotgun start. The cost is $65 per person which includes, green fees, cart and BBQ dinner to follow. There will also be course contests, skins, door prizes and raffles. Registration forms can be obtained on the Candor Emergency Squad and Candor EMS Golf Tournament Facebook pages or by calling 659-5529. Both golf and sponsorship registrations and payments are due no later than September 14. This year, funds raised through the tournament will go to help purchase a Stryker Power-Pro IT stretcher. The Candor Squad is seeking hole sponsors and additional donations for prizes that will be awarded during the
Dinner Banquet that follows this tournament. The Candor Emergency Squad is a 501(c)3 charitable corporation; all donations are tax deductible. This year, they have several different sponsorship levels. They are: Gold Sponsor $500 (four golfers, prominent tournament signage at the event, full page ad in tournament brochure, hole sponsor/hole signage, thank you on our Candor Emergency Squad and Candor EMS Golf Tournament FB pages, letter of appreciation), Silver Sponsor, $100 (hole sponsor/hole signage, thank you on the Candor Emergency Squad and Candor EMS Golf Tournament FB pages, letter of appreciation), and Bronze Sponsor, $50 (hole sponsor/ shared hole signage, letter of appreciation). Lions 5K Walk/Run - October 15 The Apalachin Lions Club will host its 5th Annual Lion 5K Walk/Run on October 15, 2016, at the Apalachin Fireman’s Field Day Grounds in Apalachin. The event starts precisely at 10:00 am. Registration opens at 8:30 am. The deadline for pre-registration is October 7. The entry fee is $20 (pre-registration and includes an official race T-shirt) and $25 (day of the race, limited T-shirts available); also a small snack will be available after the race. The 5K Walk/Run benefits the Apalachin Lions Club Activities Fund,
with all proceeds going back into the Apalachin/Campville/Little Meadows communities. Prizes will be awarded to Top Male, Top Female, and several different age brackets. A Kids Fun Run will also take place during the event.
