LIFELINE
“O God our Creator… we ask you to bless us in our vigilance for the gift of religious liberty. Give us the strength of mind and heart to readily defend our freedoms when they are threatened; give us courage in making our voices heard on behalf of the rights of your Church and the freedom of conscience of all people of faith.”
~ USCCB, “Prayer for the Protection of Religious Liberty”

Dear Friends!
Sts. Peter and Paul, the two pillars of the Church, whose feast we celebrate today, have given us an image of Church set free and capable of offering the world the freedom that the world by itself cannot give. Both Peter and Paul experienced the liberating power of Christ before being entrusted with the mission to proclaim the Gospel. Thanks to the unconditional love of Jesus, Peter, the fisherman from Galilee, was set free from his sense of inadequacy and his bitter experience of failure, while Paul, was set free from the most oppressive from of slavery, which is slavery to self. Their lives demonstrate that "Nothing is impossible with God." Their feast reminds that even in the face of seemingly insurmountable challenges, there is always hope. With God, all things are possible.
~ Father Augustine

A day of celebration and jubilation like none other! Bring your friends, family, and mother. Memories will be shared, cornerstone unveiled, and a catered meal will be prepared—

OFFICIAL PILGRIMAGE SITE
St. Augustine Church is an official pilgrimage site in the Diocese of Scranton for the Jubilee Year 2025!!!
To obtain a plenary indulgence you must visit one of the 8 designated pilgrimage sites in our Diocese, make a sacramental confession within 20 days before or after seeking the indulgence (which includes the intention of sincere detachment from all sin), receive Holy Communion during full, conscious, active participation at Mass, and pray for the intentions of the Pope (this is satisfied by reciting one Our Father and one Hail Mary, but you have the option of reciting any other prayer according to individual piety and devotion, if recited for his intention.)
Please warmly welcome visitors throughout the Jubilee Year, guiding them as they seek to obtain the plenary indulgence and deepen their spiritual journey.
